Hey loves. Just wanted to come and say, I had this video planned for today but my heart is really focused on the parents and families who lost their loved ones in Uvalde, Texas yesterday. It makes me sick to my stomach. Our children deserve better. We all do. Please keep the families in prayer, and families all around the country who feel such an anxiety sending their children to school every morning. God help us all 🤍
Dae I feel you. My heart has been so heavy since this happen yesterday. I’m here in Houston TX and I also pray for a change regarding these GUN Laws. This guy just turned 18 and was able to just walk into a gun store and purchase all these items with no questions or red flag. Sorry I just got carried away on this. It just so hard breaking. Lord have mercy.
The weird part is your hair is almost spot on for growth for two years. People keep seeing these people with loc extensions and using them a baselines.
Shrinkage from understanding determines the health of your hair. I just started my loc journey a week ago, had it braided for a year. My hair is longer than it appears, but because it shrinks (draws back) it looks shorter. The journey is about EMBRACING WHO YOU ARE! Your thoughts, being pure in heart, but there will be those who are Vain vs depth of their soul. Be well all. And thank you for this video
You have a great attitude about the characteristics of YOUR hair. That’s what makes everyone’s journey unique to them! It’s so easy to get caught up in wanting the look of someone else! When the reality is genetics play a major role in many things and hair is one of them! Well said! Thanks for sharing!!
You’re absolutely right! Enjoy YOUR loc journey. I actually feel uncomfortable when people ask me about how my locs are so thick and what do I do. I know that my hair has always been really thick and that’s why my locs are thick… there is no magical method or product.. your hair is your hair and will act accordingly. All locs are beautiful in their own special way
I feel you. I'm in no rush for my locs to be super long! I'll wait when it gets to that time plus I don't plan on letting my Locs grow past elbow my anyway
Everyone hair grows at different rates, we should honestly just enjoy our journey and have patience. There’s no rush and we shouldn’t compare our hair to others people!
I’ve watched a few of your videos and yes your locs have grown. They’re on the thicker side, so length will vary. I think some people don’t take into account, the thicker your locs, the length won’t show as much as someone with smaller, thinner locs. You’ll definitely feel the weight tho regardless. ❤️❤️
Team 4c fine slow growth here and I am also 2 years loc’d. Sometimes I do get caught up in the comparison game but my hair has always been slow to grow. Pics really do help document progress truthfully. In my mind my locs were this length when I started but I’ve noticed ponytail’s looking fuller and not as much of a struggle to get the front piece to reach to the back. Heck the other day my sister asked me if I had a faux pony in. It’s truly a journey
Exactly I have to tell people to stop trying to compare themselves to my hair. My family hair grows really fast but that does not mean that other people not growing.
I agree with EVERYTHING you are saying. Today was my appointment to have a retwist and I had a different stylist because my stylist is out on sick leave. While she was washing my hair she asked when was my last wash and I told her it was about 3 weeks ago. I really got super nervous at that point because I thought she was going to say something like there was dried up shampoo in my locs but when I asked y she asked she said because your locs are clean. I was flattered by that. I just had to mention that because you would really get it but to your video content I absolutely agree. Comparison is the theif of joy. I know that I cannot compare my hair to anyone else's because we all have different genetics. My sister actually has alopecia and I have 2 year old locs. Even OUR genetics are different, similar but different. Thanks for the video
Yes, my hair doesn't grow much and you know we compare our journey to everyone else's but yes genetics plays a huge part and I'm glad I have locs so I can retain length instead of manipulating it all the time
I sooooo agree with this!!! I don’t have locs yet but I’ve been contemplating it and will eventually loc my hair. But as a 4C girl I had to learn to love and appreciate my hair for all it DOES & CAN do which is pretty much anything and to embrace it fully. It DOES grow, just have to be patient and can’t treat it like everyone else’s
I definitely started following you when I started my very first loc journey and as of this year I have grown to truly understand that MY HAIR IS MY HAIR and i cant compare it to anyone else's just like you said !!!! I FINALLY decided to go through the real journey without perpetrating (i was wearing faux locs as if they were mines) THANK YOU FOR SHARING !!!! Love you girl !
You are absolutely correct! Ppl don’t understand. Your locs will grow at the same rate it did when you were loose. Some ppl hair grows fast and other slow. But eventually your locs will get long. Water and health as well. Mine isn’t thick and will never be thick. And I have accepted that with this long journey.
@daelocs. Thanks for this video. I happened to come across this video and I really needed to hear this. I've had locs for years and I always get told that my hair should be down to the floor by now. It use to bother me, but I had to ask myself would really be able to handle that much hair if it was that long. I've learned to love my locs how they are😊
Dea I thank you ,I have been watching you before I started my journey. I have braids, I have come to the point where I know my hair is Different. I have more silver in my hair now and it is so different now. You encourage me a lot.
Hi Queen, thank you for making this video I truly needed to hear this I’ve been locked for two years and I can see the growth slowly but I see it and I’m fine with it. Thanks again and continue to let your love light shine ✨😇
This Oct will be 2 yrs for me and some folks that know me will ask the same, I thought your hair would be a lot longer then what it in is. Me: I’m happy and loving my length. I really don’t and want let mines grow down my back.
Lmaoo a hard pill to swallow your hair will not look like what you want it to but exactly how it’s suppose to… gotta love yourself until you see how beautiful it is just the way it is. 💕
I right with you' mines doesn't look long cause I only maintenance every 3 or for months. I want them to be as strong and healthy as possible. Also cause I have around 104 locs so they need all strength they can get. Stay locd sis😉👍
I had to laugh at the nerve of people. Im glad yoy are unbothered but fact is they are just jealous of you. Only a "mad" person is trying to break you down. Smh!

@@marvelousmarva9666 that is absolutely absurd.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The fact that ppl are comfortable enough to comment and tell you that your hair hasn’t grown enough in 2 years is …… mind boggling
Literally but people can be weird lol I’ve accepted that

Hey just wondering if you’re still on the journey and how it’s going?
I appreciate your honesty. Genetics plays a HUGE role in hair growth and hair health. Lots of people do not want to accept that.

Wow! Your locs are stunning! There are soo many reasons one persons journey looks different from others. No one should judge anyones journey.

I stop comparing my hair to others last year. My hair is My hair..I only care about the health of my hair💗💗💙thanks Dae.

I’m loving my journey, self journey .. I’m letting my loc’s do what they do , My beauty is with in me , every part … My crown
Also, age can effect your hair growth. As we age our hormones decrease and hair growth slows, and hair can even thin.
I came across your videos today. I needed these a year ago 🖤 thank you Queen
I am so proud of u
Hey beautiful lady…loved this vid..I have thin low density hair & I love it☮️& blessings
I needed to hear this cause I stay comparing my locs to other ppls. Even though they are growing nicely.
I think your locs have grown a TON, since I first started following you in September
