Those look like fox glove to me. They hate to he transplanted, so leave them. Roses should be pruned back to about 18 inches In late fall, early winter. You can trim them now, just cut the flowers for the house when they start to open, you should get at least two to three bloomings before Autumn. Very nice work Samantha...
