Great reaction! Korean media has a consensus that 5th gen started mid 2023, so BabyMonster is Gen 5. Not that the number matters much... The Gen is not so much the year, but a concept shift. 5th Gen is a turn to world centric music rather than only Korea or Asia. Thus, you will hear a lot more English (or English only) in 5th gen songs.

Refreshing to see another reactor not effected by the h*** train that is always thrown at the yg gg's when they debut. 2ne1, overcame, Blackpink overcame and I think BM will overcome and rise to the top like their seniors. One reason why there’s not very many coed groups is because of the fan base. The major fans, even in the beginning of K-pop the fans wanted to be able to say they were “dating”their favorite idol, and if there is coed group, it’s harder for the fans to have their own fantasies … at the same time companies don’t normally go that route because they don’t want controversial issues arising from the fact that a majority of trainees are forbidden to date and it’s just easier to keep them separate. Some companies will not allow the female idols to have the same meal times as the male idols, just to make sure nothing happens. It would be nice to see some more coed groups, but at the same time I like the gg or bg.
