THANK YOU so much for all your support this year. I've found more listeners and have gotten opportunities that I never would've had if you hadn't mentioned me in your videos. You're an absolute gem, Grady.
Glad to see that Heavy Eyes is getting some attention, always saw that as one of his best on that album since it’s dropped but Tishomingo took my top and glad to see Muscadine Bloodline on your list. happy holidays Grady!!
Wow! Who knew that "best of" videos would be my favorite. That's encouraging for us as humans on the internet... Love these lists, Grady. Thank you especially for Yearbook, Carousel, and Mr. Saturday Night. Sooooo good. Also glad to see a big year for Big Fiddle!
Loved the list Grady! A lot of variety! With that being said here’s some of my underrated songs. Girl on Fire Kameron Marlowe Annabel 49 Winchester Big on the Little Things Josh Kiser Longneck Way to Go Midland/Jon Pardi Oklahoma Smokeshow Zach Bryan I’m Feelin Good King Calaway
Loved your list and thanks to you, I found out Megan Moroney and Rachel McIntyre Smith. I just keep finding great content with your channel. And glad about "Carousel" being number 1 because it is a gorgeous song in a fantastic album. Keep up the good work.
Im sad that Sucker for Small Towns from Ernest didnt get the mainstream attention that i thought it should have. The production , instrumentation, delivery, everything is so gorgeous and romantic. A perfect late night driving song. Aside from that, Anything Cold from Thomas Rhett was a great summer drinking jam, and Workin on a New One from Jon Pardi is not only fun and jovial but also exceptionally relateable
Man all these songs are my fav 2022 country songs too!! I don’t know if I just have great music taste or I watch you videos too much ;) Love this, Grady!
My top 5 most played songs in 2022: 1) She Had Me A Heads Carolina by Cole Swindell 2) Stereotype by Cole Swindell 3) New Number by Alana Springsteen 4) Greener Pasture by Carter Faith 5) Never Say Never by Cole Swindell & Lainey Wilson Overall, I'm a huge fan of Ingrid Andress, Alana Springsteen & Ashley Cooke
Just found this channel a couple hours ago, and wow! It is so refreshing to find somebody was such a similar taste, and appreciation for songs that I already loved, and felt like nobody else did, as well as appreciation for other songs, and I just watched another video somewhere in the top hundred. For sure subscribed now!
As I clicked on this video, I thought to myself, “if Carousel isn’t AT LEAST top 5, I might not be able to trust Grady anymore” haha so thankful I don’t have to worry about that!! Absolutely incredible
Glad to see all the love for Carousel and for Palomino too! I saw some shade from country journalists about the album being included in so many year end lists, but the truth is that it is a great one, even if you think she has done better ones in the past!
Grady! This was an awesome video! I loved this! Year end lists are amazing to see, the love you put into them is clear and they thrive because of that. Another thing; if you ever need more pictures of Zach, I was front row in San Francisco, and got a few ones that I really like. I have a couple of him and Charles together as well. Again, this is awesome! Thank you Grady!
I really do wish I could get into new music. I would love to listen to and enjoy new music, but I just can’t seem to get into it. I’m still stuck with music from way back in the 50s, like Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb, up until the 80s, ending off with more country rock and southern rock like Alabama or The Charlie Devils Band, plus all those outlaws like Waylon Jennings and Chris Christofison. I don’t know where my music taste came from either; I’m only 17 (soon to be 18) and was born in Sydney and raised in a fairly rural area of Australia. No one around me even listens to this sort of music.
We NEVER have the same favorites!!! But having Call Me and If She Wants a Cowboy as top contenders on this list makes my heart happy !!!! 2 of my top favorite songs this year. Call Me was my most played song on spotify wrapped.
Saw Miranda’s Velvet Rodeo show in Las Vegas and she played Carousel near the end of the set and it was so beautiful live. I was definitely sleeping on that song prior to seeing it live.
Your playlist brother at least we agree on #18. RK is king and we got Drake Milligan comin up hope you cover him. Love your method and look forward to hearing more
This is my favorite video of yours every year. I'm a little surprised "One of These Days" by Gabe Lee didn't make the list, but nevertheless, great content my guy.
Sometimes, I admit, I can use this list as a catch all for everything I haven't gotten to talk about in the rest of the week, and I felt like it got a nice mention in the Albums vid!! But thank you!!
I’ve got to say, two of my most surprising finds this year have been Braxton Keith’s Cold Hard Steel and Sand and Robert Henry’s Usually Goes! I’d love to see you cover them!!!
I'm 50 & the Mockingbird & The Crow is one of the best damn rock songs I've ever heard! I've become a huge fan of Hardy lately & he may be the most versatile artist out now. Wait in the Truck has also jumped into my all-time top 10 country list. That dude is on fire right now! Love your videos & insight! You introduce me to artist I would've never heard of so keep up the good work & have a great Christmas & new year!
just subscribed man. Slightly different opinion on Megan & ZB. Completely agree with Mr. Saturday Night!! Would've gone with Fix You Too and Tishomingo for Megan and ZB.
I think the only song I really loved this year that you hadn't mentioned is Light In Your Eyes by Tenille Townes. I just love how simple it is. Listmas was great as always!
Thanks Grady I love your work. I present a modern country music show on Community Radio in Albany West Australia. You have introduced me to many great artists and songs. Have a wonderful Christmas and may 2023 be a truly wonderful year for you.
A yearly congratulations and thank you Grady! Thanks for sharing all of this great music. Personal favorites I’ve found through you are the Wilder Blue and Gabe Lee
Feeling the Miles was actually released in 2021, and I listened to it a lot back then. It was on my Top-2021 list on Spotify, although now I moved it to Top-2022 just because I usually replace singles with album versions.
I remember watching Ben perform ‘started a band’ at the Ryman early last year with Ern.. Id never heard of him before that but when got to the last verse I remember the crowd erupting. Keen to see where his career takes him - clever and honest songwriting.
Was not familiar with Emily Ann Roberts before this video but liked Whole Lotta Little enough to check out some more of her stuff, and she came out with another one this year called "The Building" that's stunningly beautiful. She's definitely somebody I'm going to have to keep an eye on going forward if the rest of her music is going to be like this.
Hey Grady, just want to say I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago. Since I live in Germany I don't have any exposure to Country Music in my daily live but it's so interesting to get a glimpse into this world through your videos and especially in this list there a some real gems!
Really surprised me at the end there Grady. Here’s my top 10 songs this year: 1. Don’t Think Jesus- Morgan Wallen 2. Burn, Burn, Burn- Zach Bryan 3. Started a Band- Ben Burgess 4. the mockingbird & THE CROW- Hardy 5. Yellabush Road- Koe Wetzel 6. Other Than That- J.R. Carroll 7. Flower- Morgan Wade 8. Fast Forever- Matt Gorman 9. Jersey Giant- Elle King 10. Hair Salon- Megan Moroney
WOW, what an enjoyable video, and here you gave me many new interesting artists to follow! I love how you talk about the songs, how many times you mention lyric gems for instance is so cool. And I simply love your love for good country music, and that you talk so much about rather unknown independent artists who gives us beautiful songs. And lastly, I was so happy that you had Kaitlin Butts on your list. Her whole album is a stunner! Happy Christmas from Norway, I'm looking forward to follow you more closely again in 2023, as 2022 has been a busy year for me.
Loved the video it was great!! Always happy to hear what you think about songs I love and also discover new music through you! Curious to see what you think about Wyatt Flores. He doesn’t have that much music but what he has is really good in my opinion, I definitely would recommend him. His voice is different but good and I think it’s really cool. Lately I’ve been obsessed with his newest song “burning bridges” and also really love “please don’t go”.
My top five: 1. Giving You Up - Kameron Marlowe 2. Outrunnin Your Memory - Luke Combs feat Miranda Lambert / Tomorrow Me - Luke Combs 3. Marilyn - Kelsea Ballerini 4. Its Cause I Am - Callista Clark 5. Drive - Chase Wright Honorable Mention: Next Thing You Know - Jordan Davis
Thanks to you my country playlist has gotten bigger! So many great songs by artists I’ve never heard of before! And when I hear more from those artists and do a little research I can see why they’re so popular! I’m definitely adding a few new songs now! You’re awesome!
It was indeed a great year for music! Glad it was also a good year for you and for the channel. Looking forward to seeing what next year has in store (after a short break for the holidays, of course).
love it found some gems I had not heard - but where is Gabe Lee?!?!? I discovered him a few years back thanks to Grady and now one of my favorites. Rusty and Wide Open were definitely two of the best this year.
So glad you shined a positive light on Carrie , feels like she’s taken a bit of shade of late when she’s so epic and D&R wasn’t nearly as bad as some people said. Thank you for sharing so many great songs and artists.
My favorites this year: Jamie by Zach Bryan and CWG She Using by Kaitlyn Butts Tom Barrett by Ian Noe Bigger Fool by The Broken Spokes (Grady you should give these guys a listen if you haven't already, I think you'll like them)
I think I only found them because of the Saving Country Music blog. They only have about 10k monthly listeners on Spotify. Also thanks for all the content you have created over the years. I always enjoy these year end list of yours to see what you've like most.
Someone sent a notification - you or someone posing as you - suggesting a private talk on Telegram and telling about me winning a Fender guitar as a Christmas prize. Looks too good to be true, though. Merry Christmas!
While waiting for Hardy album to drop I went back and listened to This Ole Boy and Where to Find Me Eps. People who are missing out as Rednecker is a great song. Its really a song about posers who think they are country but they really aren't. It was a really popular song in northern Wisconsin a few years back.
Definitely agree with Carousel, Mockingbird & the Crow, Hair Salon, and Whiskey Sour!! 4 out of my top 5!! Would have picked Billy Stay though instead of Heavy Eyes. Not a fan of that one. I love the writing on Yearbook but I hate her voice on it. Overall a decent list. Maybe our tastes overlap more than I thought lol
#9 Tucker Knisell Wrist Tattoo love ❤ #2 Mockingbird came across this tune on Spotify threw Tucker Knisell radio I've not checked out #1 Lambert in along time time weird right! headed to do so now~ I saw her live years back she rocked Thanks Grady Smith for all that you do for all ❤ Sincerely Tucker Knisells #1 fan 😊
I am wondering if there will be a video about the best songs of a year regardless of whether they are singles or non-singles. Been a huge fan of your channel btw.
No, I always do it this way! To me, it's just an easier way to spread the love to more songs (since these rankings are mostly just fun and don't matter). Thanks for watching!
I was watching a bunch of the end of year videos again today and just realized a bit of a lack of benjamin tod? What's up with that? Songs I swore I'd never sing was a hell of an album. Love you all the way just curious
Did you even LISTEN to the album to say that? Of course it would be messy to you,you probably wouldn’t understand the nostalgic vibe of the album. You don’t have to like the album but it’s NOT as bad as you think it is.
I am surprised a lot of great country music that was never listed. Kylie Frey and Bri Bagwell hit number 1 on the Texas Charts with their version of the 80's number 1 hit of Girls Just Want To Have Fun by Cyndi Laupar. It is amazing version of a pop hit. Dyin' For A Living by Muscadine Bloodline went top 30 on Billboard Country Radio Indicator charts which was released to radio this year. It is a very good honky tonk type song, and I thought it was better than Me On You. Ashley Barron's The Wind is another good one. Her voice reminds me on some songs like Faith Hill and on some others, Gretchen Wilson. She should be signed since she is also an amazing singer. Hands by Dianna is also a great one from a Latino country artist. She is very good, and she does some very good comedy songs like Calm Down Karen. I Can't Decide by Easton Corbin. Anything he does is pretty good. Boy Like Me by Canadian country artist Aaron Goodvin. His song was released this year on country radio here in the US, and he is signed to one of the mainstream country radio labels in the US. Jon Wolfe's A Cowgirl Like You, and his voice and several of his songs does reminds me of George Strait. I Don't Want You Back by Tiffany Woys is a good song about a woman scorn who does not want her man back. Another You from Texas band Drew Fish Band is a good one as well. Til' You Get There by Ty Herndon is a very good song to listen to. He finally made it to some charts this year after years of absence. Somebody is finally accepting someone who is openly about himself. One Drink In by Texas artist Donace Morace who released this on the smaller independent country radio station which he made it on the charts. Ain't Worth The Heartache by Curtis Grimes. I Just Want You by Chad Cooke Band Single Again by Trey Lewis who had that massive hit Dick Down In Dallas two years ago. Everything Has Your Memory by Wade Bowen about a breakup song, and all the items he remembers spending time with that woman he broke up with. Good Ol' Man by Drew Green Open Road by Ned LeDoux who is the son of the late country artist, Chris LeDoux. Ned used to be his father's drummer on hits Life Is A Highway and others. I think Garth is like his godfather or something. Gentleman by Frankie Justin You Are My Rock by Andrew Farriss from all the way from Australia, former 80s' founding member of INXS, and signed to a US label for country. He finally hit the Billboard Country Indicator charts. Blue Eyed Blue Jeans Gone by Walker Montgomery. You covered his cousin in one of your videos who is Dillion Carmichael. Walker's father is John Michael Montgomery. 3 Chords and the Truth by About Kings from Austria who charted twice this year on Billboard Country Radio Indicator Charts. Flat River Band have several good ones. One with The Gatlin Brothers with The Gatlin Brothers hit from the 70s, and the other one is Shining Through My Window with the McCreery Sisters. One of the sisters left us after this song hit. One Honky Tonk Town by David Adam Byrnes How You Make A Man by Craig Morgan She's Somebody's Daughter by Drew Baldridge about a guy marrying a woman. All Hat No Cattle by Sweat Tea Trio Paycheck To Paycheck by Mike and the Moonpies hit the national charts this year. Long Live Cowgirls by Ian Munsick and Cody Johnson Ol' Church Hymn by Darius Rucker and Chapel Hart Heaven By Then by Brantley Gilbert and Blake Shelton ft Vince Gill, and this sounds more country than any of his rocking songs. I could go on and on if you have not listened to any of these yet.
As you were doing the honorable mentions I was typing, “No Tyler Childers???” I was actually upset over that😂😂 I love Tyler and can’t wait to listen to him in concert
Whiskey Sour and Longneck Way to Go ought to be on everyone's list. No idea why radio shunned the latter or why RCA Nashville never sent the former to radio at all. Still thinking Different Man has a single or two left in it, so maybe Whiskey Sour is next. As for songs I'd add, I've mentioned Brett Eldredge's Songs About You previously and still can't understand why it stiffed. Ditto for Elle King and Dierks Bentley's Worth a Shot, although that one is still bumping along in the 45-50 range and is apparently still being supported by Elle's label, so maybe it will make some sort of move in the new year.
Congrats! You made it to the end of Listmas!
Grady Have You Heard Kane Brown's Song Like I Love Country Music It's An Awesome Song
@@robbieray1961 LOL yes. Reviewed that and the album earlier this year!
@@GradySmith Oh Ok I Didn't Know
Thanks for these year ends, I always find songs from you that I’ve never heard of. Thanks Grady and merry Christmas to you and your family!
You 1st introduced me to the music of Flatland Cavalry. I received my tickets today to see them live here in Vancouver with Luke Combs and company
THANK YOU so much for all your support this year. I've found more listeners and have gotten opportunities that I never would've had if you hadn't mentioned me in your videos. You're an absolute gem, Grady.
Hey! I started following you on Spotify when Grady introduced you to me. I love your songs!! Amazing lyricism.
@@learningcommons7014 Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it. New music coming soon so stay tuned!!
I LOVE when you shine the light on all these little-known artists! Way to go, Grady!
Low Gap is awesome! Thanks for introducing them to the masses a few videos back.
Wow, thanks Grady. We really appreciate it!
Well deserved
Glad to see that Heavy Eyes is getting some attention, always saw that as one of his best on that album since it’s dropped but Tishomingo took my top and glad to see Muscadine Bloodline on your list. happy holidays Grady!!
I always enjoy these lists. I love to discover some lesser known artists who are staying true to classic country music
No one else in my life truly loves country music like I do, so I am very appreciative of you Grady. Love to look forward to your videos!
Wow! Who knew that "best of" videos would be my favorite. That's encouraging for us as humans on the internet... Love these lists, Grady. Thank you especially for Yearbook, Carousel, and Mr. Saturday Night. Sooooo good. Also glad to see a big year for Big Fiddle!
I feel like Way of a Triune God is criminally underrated, I felt like that was one of the best songs that came out this year
Loved the list Grady! A lot of variety!
With that being said here’s some of my underrated songs.
Girl on Fire Kameron Marlowe
Annabel 49 Winchester
Big on the Little Things Josh Kiser
Longneck Way to Go Midland/Jon Pardi
Oklahoma Smokeshow Zach Bryan
I’m Feelin Good King Calaway
"Palamino" was an excellent release. Miranda has an ability to put out some great material that isn't gonna hit the radio, and that's awesome.
Great to see Muscadine Bloodline and other indies getting props. Awesome list👍🏼
They released my surprise favorite singles of the year, even though they weren’t on my radar before.
@@basedrooster they are destined for superstardom

@Grady_Smith.. hey bud. Get out of here. I have spoken with Grady on multiple occasions. You aren’t welcome here. Go ahead and see yourself out.

Great list! Loved that Carousel was #1 and the Zach pick, Heavy Eyes, is my fave from the album too
We NEVER have the same favorites!!! But having Call Me and If She Wants a Cowboy as top contenders on this list makes my heart happy !!!! 2 of my top favorite songs this year. Call Me was my most played song on spotify wrapped.
This was a great list! I also loved Little Devil by Jesse Daniel. Everything he puts out is top tier for me, but Little Devil is really, really good.
Easily one of my favorite songs he’s put out
Saw Miranda’s Velvet Rodeo show in Las Vegas and she played Carousel near the end of the set and it was so beautiful live. I was definitely sleeping on that song prior to seeing it live.

I don't listen to country but the excitement you have for the music, makes me enjoy the videos.
I have discovered so many great artists and songs from your channel. Can you make a list of super dark songs that have an ominous sound
Maybe for Halloween that could be cool! Start with "Kate McCannon" by Colter Wall, then chase that with "Lived and Died Alone" by Lindi Ortega.
Just Saw Miranda play in Vegas and she played Carousel! It was amazing.
Love, love, love Randall King! His shows are fun because it's obvious he's on the brink of something HUGE! Good to see him on your list.

I love these videos. Found some of my absolute favorite artists from you
While waiting for Hardy album to drop I went back and listened to This Ole Boy and Where to Find Me Eps. People who are missing out as Rednecker is a great song. Its really a song about posers who think they are country but they really aren't. It was a really popular song in northern Wisconsin a few years back.
Muscadine bloodline is my absolute favorite. Been listening to them since they started and I’m so excited for their new album coming out next year.
Good list I’ll have to look a few of these up specifically the second spot
#9 Tucker Knisell Wrist Tattoo love ❤
#2 Mockingbird came across this tune on Spotify threw Tucker Knisell radio I've not checked out
#1 Lambert in along time time weird right! headed to do so now~ I saw her live years back she rocked
Thanks Grady Smith
for all that you do for all
❤ Sincerely
Tucker Knisells #1 fan 😊
Have you heard Tuckers other songs yet Grady! ❤❤❤❤❤
Have you listened to Ruston Kelly (especially the album Dying Star) or anything Hannah Dasher?
yes they've all been covered!
Perfect end of year list! Merry Christmas🎄🎁
I ❤your year-end lists, Grady! Thanks!
I'd be interested in a list of songs to grieve with.
I have to agree about Pink Champagne. One of the few songs from Denim and Rhinestones that was any good. Messy really describes that album.
Did you even LISTEN to the album to say that? Of course it would be messy to you,you probably wouldn’t understand the nostalgic vibe of the album. You don’t have to like the album but it’s NOT as bad as you think it is.
@@bookgirl8 of course I listened to the album and most of the tracks sounded like bad 80’s pop. Calling it messy is kind.
Lookin’ festive! 🔥
Great video, great list. Merry Christmas, hombre!
Awesome list! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Grady! Can't wait for more.
@GradySmith160 LOL
Check out Tyler Braden Try losing one. Beautiful freaking song. And the remix with Sydney from echo smith makes it even better
I Just Want You by Chad Cooke Band
Single Again by Trey Lewis who had that massive hit Dick Down In Dallas two years ago.
Everything Has Your Memory by Wade Bowen about a breakup song, and all the items he remembers spending time with that woman he broke up with.
Good Ol' Man by Drew Green
Open Road by Ned LeDoux who is the son of the late country artist, Chris LeDoux. Ned used to be his father's drummer on hits Life Is A Highway and others. I think Garth is like his godfather or something.
Gentleman by Frankie Justin
You Are My Rock by Andrew Farriss from all the way from Australia, former 80s' founding member of INXS, and signed to a US label for country.
One Honky Tonk Town by David Adam Byrnes
How You Make A Man by Craig Morgan
She's Somebody's Daughter by Drew Baldridge about a guy marrying a woman.
All Hat No Cattle by Sweat Tea Trio
Paycheck To Paycheck by Mike and the Moonpies hit the national charts this year.
Long Live Cowgirls by Ian Munsick and Cody Johnson
Ol' Church Hymn by Darius Rucker and Chapel Hart
Heaven By Then by Brantley Gilbert and Blake Shelton ft Vince Gill, and this sounds more country than any of his rocking songs.
I could go on and on if you have not listened to any of these yet.
As you were doing the honorable mentions I was typing, “No Tyler Childers???” I was actually upset over that😂😂 I love Tyler and can’t wait to listen to him in concert
Feeling The Miles is a top jam for me. Such a fantastic song
Great video as always Grady 👏🏼 I hope one day to make this list.
