    Great review my friend. I'm a Thai-American citizen. I started to think about early retiring and move back in Thailand. So this time I decided to stay in Thailand longer than usual to see if I like it.
    The Cost of living in Thailand is much cheaper. However it depends on the life style and how you spend the money. Last month I paid the property tax for my ocean view house and lands here for $150 in total vs $6500 for my house in Los Angeles. Plus in Thailand, it's not required the home insurrance. You don't need to buy the insurrance for motorcycle neither. Internet, cell phone service and other services are much much cheaper.
    What I spent the most were probably when I went to the nice restaurants hung out with old friends. It could have been $2 instead of $25 baht for dinners.
    My house is 1 hour away from Pattaya. It's acommunity of Expats mostly from Europe. Mnay of them live here permanently. With under $2k pension, they can buy a new house, new car and enjoy lifes they couldn't have in their homeland.

      Awesome information Maxsitti. That’s the assessment I made when I spent 45 days there. Now I’m fired up to get my next remote position and to attempt working abroad. Even if I have to work through the night I much rather do that then to be here in the states dealing with the rat race here! I can’t wait to get back! But, I’m definitely exploring a lot more, my only regret is not going around the country a bit more.

      Defini doable. To be comfortable I would have about 2k for a month minimum. Even better if you have 3k or about a 100 usd a day budget you can essentially go out every day and do most things

    Yes, the cost living in the US is extremely expensive. You can try Vanlife or Tiny house. The inflation, US food prices, gas prices and car insurance is ridiculously high. Btw, I love eating cheap Southeast ASIAN Street food. I love Thai food, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Chinese, Malaysian and Singaporean food.

    • @LifeWithRilla
      @LifeWithRilla  Год назад

      Heack yeah man the food is amazing out there. I feel bad for the close minded tourists who stay inside of a small bubble of food options while out there. I’ve seen a few and western people are way too picky.

    • @Tony-lm5zs
      @Tony-lm5zs Год назад

      Isn’t that street food very unhealthy and unsanitary? I watch others who claim many of them don’t wash their hands, handle money and food, and some admitted to being on the toilet many days. How do you find the safe and good ones and avoid the bad ones?

    • @LifeWithRilla
      @LifeWithRilla  Год назад

      @@Tony-lm5zs that’s exactly the point I’m bringing up. Those dudes must be lying because I never seen any of that. They’re weird when they say stufff like that and you go and never seen any of that.

      @@LifeWithRilla well Auston was the first one I watched who admitted to having the runs for days and he stopped eating street food. It could be true for many just getting a bad batch of food or chose a bad vendor. It can happen cause I’ve been food poisoned 2-3 times here at American fast food restaurants. You be surprised how nasty some people who work in any American restaurant

    • @LifeWithRilla
      @LifeWithRilla  Год назад

      I had travelers stomach once out there once my body adapted after 3 days I was good since. But, that same thing happened to me in the USA and way more time than I experienced it in the usa. But, I spent my whole life here. Take your own risk. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the food there in most places. There are some I wouldn’t eat from but that’s subjective. Most of the restaurants though are sanitary & I eaten from the night markets several times never had an issue.

    Damn, when Im just ordering regular doordash in the US it's about $70 delivery for a couple or a few items of lesser quality! I think someone on reddit was complaining about eating wendys on doordash like a burger fries and drinks for about $30 US. We are spoiled here for convenience, but its not worth it, even when you go to pick it up. 😕Better to just save the money to travel and eat damn good overseas, amongst other activities.
    Food looked good though on ya'lls end.
    Just wanted to also say it's good Rilla, that you're waxing philosophical on traveling away from what you knew and getting more world knowledge. Can only get better from there. :D

      I really enjoyed the digital nomad culture. The cost of living. I felt a lot less stressed out being out there than I do here in the USA where everything is super competitive & bills are extremely expensive. I don’t really like the whole working girl culture. But, I enjoyed the ability to just go out and easily meet people who were happy out there. At least the foreigners who were there seemed really down to earth. I don’t like the groping lol. But, I just tolerated it. I have higher standards when I go out there for that reason. But, I show them respect too. I’m not going to judge them life out there is hard enough for the locals.
