There is an interesting background to this song. It was made famous by Anna Pugacheva, who is a Russian singing icon ( she is now 73). When Lara first sang this song, many conservative traditionalists ( and nationalists) hated it. It was like stepping on the toes of the original's owner. It wasn't being sung the way they were used to hearing it from Pugacheva. To add insult to the nationalists, Lara was not Russian and was singing Russian with french accent. Sacrilege! In one Moscow concert video on YT you can see an older man making a glum face and refusing to clap at the end of her performance. However, Pugacheva's voice was raspy and getting raspier just due to her age. Lara reprised this song with much more power, brighter tones and smiling beauty. These, together with her charming character, finally won over the demanding Russian audiences, as this event shows. She is now widely respected in Russia and was quickly and affectionally adopted as "Laroshka" (daughter Lara). Typical Lara, making a cover her own!
@Fedor Ivanov Fedor, I bow to your deep knowledge, being Russian. I may have exaggerated I have been following assiduously and translating in Google the many hundreds of comments in Russian on the many Moscow concert RUclips videos. There were quite a few comments critical of Lara, not for her voices, but more because it was "not like Pugacheva". And certainly Russian audiences warmed quickly to her, as she did not give that many concerts.
@Fedor Ivanov may be right or may be wrong but life is still wonderful if we are here still love the same voice and enjoy that moment with a cup of wine. Things became less matter, right? Love you two
The Russian people are very passionate and creative. I can only dream about the amazing collaborations we Americans could have with such wonderful people if our respective governments would only get out of the way and leave us all alone. Their culture is so rich with art and music.

Igor writes such beautiful music and it's pretty obvious Lara is one of his favorite singers. Russian audiences have embraced her in a big way. They love hearing her sing in Russian.
Thank you again Rollen for this reaction to Lara singing in Russian. Like you, I don't care what language she sings in, it's all wonderfull. I could see how you enjoyed her performance. She is just an amazing human being as well as a superb singer/songwriter. There is so much more for you to choose. What's next on your Lara journey?
Please, whenever you have a chance, please react to this song. I have goosebumps and tears in my eyes every time I watch this video, and you will have a glimpse into one of her recording studio sessions. She is as passionate inside a studio as in her live performances-what a beautiful human being in and out. Thanks for your reactions. I enjoy them. ruclips.net/video/mKLdLox918A/видео.html
I absolutely agree. This is yet another of Lara's amazing songs. By the way, thank you for another fantastic reaction to a performance we do not see so many other places. Thanks.
I did not know this version by Lara Fabian. It is closer to the interpretation by Alla Pugacheva. My preference is for that of Dimash, much slower and more "tortured".
I really hope Lara does the slower version of this song that Igor wrote for Dimash, because I really feel the upbeat tone does not fit Love is Like a Dream well
Another superb interpretation with a lot of energy from Lara. I often notice that women who compare the same songs sung by Dimash and Lara well they all prefer Dimash. There is no point in comparing them but I think that in a natural way, a woman is rather physiologically attracted to a man's voice and that is why it affects them more particularly. You can't deny that he is extraordinary but for me it's Lara's voice that resonates in me and when I listen to Dimash, I think that this boy has a phenomenal voice but strangely, it does not affect me . Sorry ladies! As for Rollen, I see that you are having a lot of fun...
I think both Lara Fabian and Dimash are truly phenomenal singers and I have to say that I equally like both of their versions of Adagio, Love of Tired Swans and Mademoiselle Hyde. However, for this version of Love is Like a Dream, I prefer Dimash's. To be fair, I did see his version first, but while hers is more bright and upbeat, his has more vocal color and nuance. I do feel that there are probably songs that's Lara has sung, that Dimash would not be able to or even try to rival.
@@LMRourke Hello, I think Dimash is pretty much able to sing anything so much he has vocal ability. For the anecdote, during the rehearsals of the song "Ti amo cosi", Aida who was absent for a moment said to Lara if I don't come back it doesn't matter, Dimash will be able to do my part...Lara , she even called him a space boy. However, I saw Dimash slaughtered in his debut songs by wanting to do vocal prowess and totally distorted the song. Maybe today, he's calmed down on that side, but I'm not listening to him to confirm that. I would have to make the effort. I actually listen to it when I watch the fake duets with Lara. It is undeniable that he has more vocal possibilities than Lara or others but personally it is Lara who captivates me and moves me the most. They are still two extraordinary voices!
Hi Rollen great reaction to the magnificent Lara😍She is out of this world. I am looking forward to more reactions to her by you and some songs you should react to is "parce que tu pars", "desperate housewife "and one of her newest"je suis a toi" ruclips.net/video/b7jHPvnpjNQ/видео.html

music reunites languages and nations
