- Static-X second demo tape released in 1997. There is a demo tape released in 1996 but I found nothing about it. If I find something I will post for you!

Wayne’s creativity and genuine songwriting capabilities were underrated and under-utilized the longer the band went on for after the 2nd album. Even Machine was regressive in terms of WDT. Not saying that it was terrible but…as much pressure as there was by Warner Bros. to be as successful as Korn, Wayne wanted that too and it became the focal point for him. It’s part of why Ken Jay left.
I won’t slag anyone’s musical preferences; Wayne was a fantastic songwriter and could do multiple genres very well. He was certainly gifted. And as far as his contemporaries go, he was definitely the most innovative and original sounding when nu-metal was taking off in the late 90’s.
Can we trade whoever thumbed down this video to get Wayne back?

@@davidjenkins6626 Ulrich Wild said himself that this demo was top tier and didn’t know how he could make it any better. Luckily he did contribute to its success but it just shows that Static-X had everything planned out from the beginning and simply needed a bit of polishing. I believe that nothing will ever equate to this given it’s time and place within the history of music.
Ulrich Wild is very great producer of 90's nu metal ever.

I have a 96 demo cassette that was signed by Wayne. I went to see Pelvic Meatloaf at Boston's in Tempe, Az and Static opened and stole the show. They were promoting the March 23rd release of WDT. They popped breakers several times and had to restart several songs. It was Friggin' Awesome!

sorry I've been restoring PC got the Pesky virus somehow and spent a week trying to restore to no avail... Not selling my signed copy. I may have a 2nd copy somewhere I will try to find. The songs were studio recordings of "Push It; Bled for Days; I'm with Stupid; Down."
no, it was signed to me. I had 2 one as keep sake signed, the other I played the hell outta it, over, over, and over again in car. was a courier at the time, I would part with the spare, but now cant seem to find it. sorry... if I do finally find it I will reply to you again
it is studio recordings not like a practice demo, or live. it was called a demo but was more like a promotional item sample out before full release to pass around and generate interest... It just had three songs on it with a bonus track called "Down" the songs sound exactly same as on the WDT album, so dont worry your not missin out bud

One of the few bands to have all the material, and they are more prevelent now compared to most current bands.
So many musical elements rolled into one. Such a fantastic and underrated band.
One of the best demo tapes EVER! Static-X & Wayne Static will continue to live on to this very day, in addition to never being forgotten despite Wayne's unfortunately tragic passing. RIP Wayne, you were one of the greatest Heavy Metal musicians that ever lived, and you are without a doubt missed dearly! \m/
Xzyro the Leyo Yeah it was very sad and totally unexpected. You can read more about it on wikipedia but unfortunately he accidentally combined alcohol with prescription meds and thus died in his sleep at a rather young age (like Chester Bennington) as a result to sum it up.

It was weird that a remix was the only way to hear the song until this demo tape was uploaded to the Internet. The studio version unremixed is probably my favorite though I still listen to the remix as well sometimes.
I want the original version of Otsegolation+Otsego Undead when it was all one song and the WDT outtakes we haven’t heard. I would love a WDT version of Structural Defect.

Shadow Zone was the first album to feature actual drums. The previous albums' drum parts were drum machine with real cymbal overdubs by Ken Jay.
I think people would be shocked to learn just how many of their favorite songs are actually made using a drum machine heh.
You sure about that? I was only a fan of the first two records but they always had real drums on top of sequenced drums.

I can’t count how many nights I would walk listening to Love Dump on repeat until the batteries died. Then I would take my spare batteries out of my pocket, and keep playing this until those batteries died too.
It's a great song but the lyrics are a bit disturbing. Depending on the person's perspective of it. Some say it's about banging a chick in the ass. Some say it's about a shit eating fetish. That's the disturbing part lol. And then there are some who say it's about a bad break up.

in 97 i was the drum tech for a band that opened for static x (then just static) at the now defunct coconut teaser in hollywood. when they hit the stage i was blown away. i never heard anything like it. i might of got this demo that night or maybe at another gig but it was in my rotation til the album came out, and i was blown away even more.

There are still more songs from the Wisconsin Death Trip that have never been heard before and it sucks that we probably never will. “Low Way” and some other stuff that Tripp would talk about sometimes along with his Ayn Rand obsession.

So the songs have been written and recorded the first time long before the album Wisconsin was released? Almost colidates with the end of grundge era.
