Ha ha, that's a Film Noir title? Thanks for posting. I saw N Korea had a few athletes on the Nations Parade at the Paris Olympics. They did not share a boat with S Korea, however. 🤫
Can't really judge a noir by its title, right? Take Christmas Holiday (1944). But it does go against the grain, for sure. In more ways than one. Fun film.
@@NoirFan77Don't judge a Noir by its title, right? Christmas Holiday has many minutes of the the most wholesome scenes. I enjoyed it - one of the more gentle Noirs. 🌲
I wonder if mid 20th Century China made any notable noir-flavored drama movies. Not gonna expect any from the 50s Mainland, of course, but maybe the brief period between the end of Sino-Japan war and the nationwide takeover of communist forces would foster some West-leaning movie studios to make some quick bucks on stories inspired by a trying era.
God, I wish Eddie Muller was on tonight. He's by far the best thing on TCM. But now, they're doing Summer Under the Stars, which mostly means they'll be showing cinematic warhorses for the next couple of months! Couldn't they get Eddie to curate noirs with their designated stars each week? Well, today's star is John Wayne. I guess not.🥱
@@NoirFan77Interesting. Thanks for that. I didn't really mean to single out Wayne. I just HATE TCM's weird random programming where they suddenly abandon their established schedule for silly stunts like "Summer Under the Stars." Why can't they have both? I guess, it's not arbitrary; every year it's the same. Muller gets preempted more often than "Meet the Press" during the Olympics!
@@unigonfilms99 I hear what you're saying. OTOH when I factor in the repeats on Noir Alley I conclude that the hiatus for Summer Under the Stars doesn't significantly impact the programming on Noir Alley each year.
That girl makes Vera from Detour seem like a wholesome sweetheart.
Got to see Ann Savage introduce a screening of Detour. She said it was easy to play Vera because she detested Tom Neal.
Wow, sounds (and looks) pretty awesome.

Good question, don't have the answer. Worth looking into.
Parasite was a hideous film.
