How did you guys ever come up with this great "outside-the-box" idea? Original ideas are rare but you and the wife found one. Thanks.

I had used velcro for a few things but I’m finding on a hot day the things fall off the wall. Even the light things fall in heat. Can you comment on how the Command Strips do on a hot day?

That is a great idea. I should try that. I already ventured to put holes in my walls, but they are just tiny. I like the strip on the bottom.

The strips give you a much high comfort level to go to town and decorate the whole camper :)

My wife and I just purchased a travel trailer and I’m fanatical about not drilling into new things such as vehicles, RV’s, and we had this same idea as to how to hang things, we purchased a 2020 Keystone Passport 2900, and did not come with. Tv in the bedroom, so I’m going to have to bend and allow holes to be drilled 😢, I bought a wall mount, and going to have the dealership I bought the RV from install, if I screw up, I’m screwed 😢, if they, then they have to fix 😁

Have you pulled off the wall any of those command strips and does that do any damage to the wall? I want to hang one of those time and temperature gauges about 12X12 and I wonder if it will hold it and if I want to take it down if the command strip will damage the wall?

We use them all of the time and have not had any problems. That said I cant guarantee whether any conditions could arise that cause an issue. I would just say make sure you pull straight down on the tab while remove and take your time. If you try to yank it off quickly it could pull on the surface before the adhesive separates from it.

If you have trouble with a snapped of tape hit it with a hairdryer to heat up the glue and then slide a piece of dental floss between the wall and hook to break the seal.

We even use command strips in our house to save from putting holes in the walls!!

Used them. Everything eventually fell. Yes we used the manufacturer's directions.

These strips do not last long on bonded walls which are in most RVs. We have tried this many times with multiple brands, and we have yet to find anything to keep our frames and pictures hanging.

Command hooks don’t work for me. It’s too hot and humid in Texas. They didn’t survive the summer.

Great tips for hanging pictures. I’m doing research on living full time in a RV. I have some amazing pictures in my apartment that I don’t want to part with. Problem is that they are on the heavy side. Not many but some, and of course the ones I esp want to keep. I thought it might help changing out the glass for a plastic type thing. Velcro works very well but I don’t think it would be enough. So if I HAD to put holes in the wall, can that even be done? And if so, what would be the issues about doing it? Thank you for you tips! Oh and when using Velcro, is it hard to remove from the wall or will it leave a mark?

The 3M Command strips should not leave a mark.. although I would be patient removing them and do it as they instruct so you dont accidentally tear the wall. The good thing about the command strips is that we can take down the heavy pic when we travel so thery dont fall. We have put up some fairly heavy pics... including a sign made out of slate but you may need to double up on them if something is really heavy.

Great ideas! How did it hold up during travel? Do you leave them on or take them off?

Hi! I tried using a command hook for hanging a broom. I followed all the instructions and a second after I placed the broom on the hook, the whole thing fell off the wall. What am I doing wrong? I tried this once about 4 years ago, have the command products improved. It looks like I have the same interior wall material as y'all do.
    Thanks

Just don't forget to clean the surface really well before applying.
