4:42 You have it backwards. Maul was a originally a true Sith apprentice, while Dooku was a mere tool to be used and ultimately sacrificed.
The idea of Maul running over The Chosen One with his speeder just for fun, while trying to attack Qui Gon, is just so f*cking funny
Maul: “Tell me…is it the Chosen One?”
Ben Kenobi: “He is.”
Maul: “He…will…avenge us…”
I wonder if Obi wan meant Luke instead of Anakin
@@Tuturial464I dont think he did. He did know that noone had a chance at getting through to Anakin other than Luke.
So, he was still protecting the chosen one, from a certain point of view.
@@noahblevins9569 Killing Vader. As far as Ben cared. Anakin was dead.
@@noahblevins9569it's been made *obscenely* clear that is NOT what Ben thought about Anakin/Vader
If he saw ANYONE as the chosen one, it was *Luke*
And if you remember Ben was still telling Luke to kill his dad right up until he left for Endor
@@nicholashodges201 You're right. Ben had given up on Anakin being redeemed.
Maul’s speech to Ahsoka in the Clone Wars was so powerful, it even changed my view of the entire storyline. Didn’t see Maul as evil anymore, saw him as a survivalist.
He's definitely evil
He....will avenge us.
I really find it touching that Maul in the end accepts his fate gains some semblance of peace and comfort.
Also, Does anyone know what the music that plays at the beginning of the video is called?
It’s simply entitled “Dark Choir Music,” but the artist is a Mattia Cupelli
@@GGBlaster Thx Man! You are a lifesaver!
So, when Maul says he'll avenge us he meant their suffered injustices.
Immediately stood on business😁👍🏽
This is very touching. Everybody suffered from Sidious.Entire galaxy. Maul and Obi-Wan were one of the biggest victims. They both suffered so muc, were betrayed, mentaly shattered then recovered. In the end they were avenged. By Anakin. This is really tragic story. May the Force be with you too😊
"Obi Wan stood on business," lol fire
Man you're so great at these thank you.
You know, I believe if anakin left the jedi order with Ahsoka, the jedi would still go after him because he's too much of a risk to let go
And there are many jedi masters that would agree with that statement, so Anakin would never be truly free
Maybe some Jedi would, but it definitely wouldn't be a sanctioned thing in the slightest.
For the most part, as an organization, the Jedi learned the error of only allowing "Mafia Retirement".
If they would've chased anyone down it would've been Dooku. Anakin was powerful in the force, but outside of the Jedi he would be *nobody* as his entire world was the Jedi and the government people in their orbit.
But Dooku had political and financial power, both earned as a Jedi and inherited from his family. And he had a known grudge pointing in dark directions
The comics kind of revealed that Anakin is free to leave the Jedi Order when the former decided to leave as a young padawan but changed his mind later.
I REFUSE to believe that Maul was pathetic clutching to hope on the sense of despair. I BELIEVE that Maul UNDERSTOOD the FORCE to the degree that he KNEW that there were TWO sides. Good and Evil, in THIS THROUGHOUT his journey in life he swayed from wanting to do good and NEEDING to do bad. This is literally stated when the narrator says that Maul could literally sense so much information THROUGH THE FORCE. In his FINAL moments he knew that what Obi-Wan was protecting was the being that would not ONLY avenge HIM, but the countless lives that Palpatine had decimated.
@T.el.egram_the_stupendouswave gtf out of here you wacked out scamming Clanker
He didn't need to do bad after being freed from sidous. He's evil
Great video.
❤️Love you Maul. Thank you for believing.
Another interesting video!
Thanks again!
@@TheStupendousWave thank YOU 😎
That was an awesome breakdown! Maul NEEDING Kenobi to confirm his hope is some Shakespearean master class theater. And thank you for answering how old the Jedi prophecy is. How in the hell did that prophecy survive through the era of the overconfident High Republic?
Video Idea- Was Mual Redeemed in the Very End?
He wasn't. Hear me out, he was at peace because of vengeance
@@churlish7851 Maul was a night brother, when he dead (you/we ) should have seen the green night sister magic mist invested by his mother leave his body.
Other head canon, Maul eyes open up like Darth Sion. The rabbles about time & space, past present future and now he understands all. Walks out into the night desert as a darkside wight. Meeting up later with Luke went he builds his green saber. At least like in legends " Shadows of the Empire " novel, comic, video game story line.
Question. Did Maul find redemption? The same type that Anakin found with Luke, on the Death Star 2? Hope so.
Having the Jedi Order and Sith destroyed brought balance. Not one or the other, but both. Balance. Start over. They both wound up doing it wrong.
I’m more and more convinced Maul would’ve been a brilliant Jedi had things been different
I am loving these maul videos.
Cool
Yep. Jedi saying balance in the force when there are more Jedi than sith means: less Jedi or more sith.
I don’t know… part of me leans toward balance in power, not so much in population.
@@GGBlasterBalancing it both ways made it easier to understand that there was true balance, for a while.
I think maul was a true apprentice until the phantom menace and the count was actually a place holder for palpatines true apprentice
@T.el.egram_the_stupendouswave are you the real stupendouswave??
@T.el.egram_the_stupendouswave why do you not message from the account that you made the video on
Exactly. Sidious meant for Maul to be his true apprentice. When Maul was killed, Sidious decided that Anakin would become his new apprentice. But since Anakin wasn't ready, he needed a temporary substitute. It was Dooku who was never a true Sith apprentice.
stood on business!!!!
It was Luke Skywalker father 👨 was the true chosen one ☝️
Nope. Anakin was it: Brought the Jedi numbers down.
Yet neither was taught Tutumenis before being sent to die.
@@aliastheabnormalWrong. Yoda gave Luke instruction on using tuteminis....and he did use it to some effect fighting the emporer. Sidious was just too strong, and overpowered him.
That is laid out clearly in the novel, and has previously been mentioned on this channel.
@@noahblevins9569 At this point its just a running gag to shit on Yoda. Especially after the prequel and Disney trilogy.
@@aliastheabnormal I didnt know you were trolling a little. Lots of people have only seen the movies, so I try to drop some wisdom when they dont know.
The Chosen One brings balance by ending BOTH polarized disciplines.
No Jedi
No Sith.
Luke trains Grey.
I actually think that Anakin was both the Chosen One and the Sith Ari. Both sides saw the same prophetic visions but from their own points of view. It would make sense thematically, as the point of the Force is to maintain balance but the Jedi and Sith keep trying to tip this balance in their favor.
Clearly you have no idea what the prophecy of the sith ari is if you think that Anakin was a suitable candidate.
He was right you know, from a certain point of view
I mean if you think about it. It must be a comforting thought, that eventually someone would come and end the cycle of instability
The Force has NOTHING on my chicken nuggets.
Luke realized in the dark side cave that in killing Vader, Luke's path would be set in motion to replace him, just as Luke's father had fallen to the dark side by killing Tyrannus another lost Jedi.
It was likely seeing the vision where Luke deduced that the only option left was to surrender to Vader, because Luke had faith in the prophecy even if he couldn't see the out come.
Akisin is always chosen one
So then Anakin achieved the equilibrium by triggering the destruction of both dogmatic polarities through saving Sidious (leading to Order 66) and later killing him (collapsing his long planned Empire).
I think he discovered the chosen one before his final battle him and azura saw alot with those halicrons
I interpreted Maul's statement to mean that he believed that the chosen one would turn to the dark side and avenge Maul's (and Savage's) death. I suppose I'm mistaken.
Star Wars The Force Unleashed 3: The Mauling (how star killer becomes Darth Maul)
IT'S MAULING TIME
It was revealed to maul in the joined holocrons with Ezra, was it not?
Well technically Anakin did bring balance to the force. As before becoming Vader and joining Palpatine there were numerous Jedi. But after there were just 2 Sith and only 2 Jedi Masters in Kenobi & Yoda.
Ya I know I will sound dumb saying this but I believe they both were the chosen one because the force needed to kill off all the jedi to maintain balance and then made Luke to defeat the sith if the force didn't create Luke then Vader wouldn't turn back to the light and finally kill Palpatine
Okay hear me out. The dark knight is the same story to the prequel trilogy. The joker is palpatine, anikan is the white knight Harvey Dent, but there isn’t a Batman to save the day because the Jedi are arrogant about the word “dark”.
I have some hairy stuff
You don't know the half of it!
Fact of the matter is, I think Luke is the chosen one, not Anakin. First, I believe Disney has a twisted view of the force, and specifically of the light side and dark side. The dark side is not actually a side of the force, but more of a method that people use to bend or impose their will on the force. The light side, when pure, is the true will of the force. The issue the jedi had was that through the years, they had put layers and layers of bureaucracy , tradition, and superstition into their order, diluting the pure will of the force. In other videos it had been remarked that a Jedi, when completely being a conduit for the force was more powerful than any Sith. The reason being is Sith can only obtain a portion of the power of the force they can will through their craft, while a Jedi can use the whole thing. This is why Sith have to try to break that connect by either instilling fear or anger. With this whole backdrop, bringing true balance to the force would include two parts, cleansing the Jedi of their years of false traditions, but it would also be to cleanse the force of the usurpers. Aka, the Sith/dark side. While you can make arguments for both Luke or Anakin being the chosen one, the point where the argument falls short for Anakin is the point of fact that Anakin didn't rebuild the Jedi order, Luke did. Furthermore, with Anakin having been the chosen one, then losing that blessing when turning to the dark side, makes a great theme about ordination, and being able to lose that ordination through unrighteousness. Meanwhile, Luke, not necessarily being the chosen one, but inheriting the possibility of it from his father, was able to rise to the occasion and become ordained to be the chosen one. Also, another side note with Anakin, this still allows the theme of redemption, since he still died as a Jedi and was able to live on in the force, but it shows a more true reality of redemption. While redemption is possible, not all the consequences of our actions can just be undone. In real life, just because you have earned redemption, does not mean that the events in motion from past actions simply cease to exist, and sometimes we have to find a way to cope with the consequences of what we have done long after the fact.
Edit/side note: Also for the reasons listed above about the force and the balance of it, I really dislike the concept of the Bendu.
Maul lived his entire life in darkness. In pain. In fear, anger, and hate. He never had a chance and would never truly have justice for all his sufferings and his losses. Much of what he suffered was arguably self-inflicted, becuz, as a discarded tool of the Sith, he knew no other way other than to scheme, conspire, and strike down his enemies, becuz that's what he was taught and becuz he was forged into a killer that was originally a zealous follower of an order that in no way returned any of the loyalty he felt for it, up until he was cut down by Obi-wan.
All of Maul's plans and power-grabs ultimately failed, and so left him with nothing.
Tho he grew to hate his former master above all else, Maul eventually had to swallow the bitter pill that taking vengeance upon the Dark Lord of the Sith / Galactic Emperor was no longer possible, leaving him with the only other object of his hatred to seek revenge upon: Obi-wan Kenobi, the Jedi who (from Maul's point of view) robbed him of the destiny in which he believed he would become even more than the most powerful being in the galaxy, not realizing even back then that was never going to happen even had he successfully killed Obi-wan and helped the Trade Federation conquer Naboo.
It duzent surprise me that Maul learned of the Jedi Prophecy of the Chosen One during his nascent years under Sidious' tutelage, but in his final moments it is indeed a tragedy that he sought even the slightest comfort of hope that he, as well as all else who had suffered becuz of Sidious, would be avenged by the Chosen One, as Old Ben (in his mind) confirmed he was protecting
Hope is a precious thing, for anyone who seeks even a chance of it, to give them even the smallest comfort in their darkest times or even in their final moments.
Maul, who had lived the majority of his life driven by an all-consuming obsession for revenge, got that one flicker of hope in his final moments and felt a bittersweet comfort of having his vengeance upon Sidious even via a proxy like the "Chosen One"
It is still a deeply sad ending, not only in how it was the end of Maul's story, but also how his final moment and words mixed the very concepts of hope and vengeance, that it left Obi-wan himself aggrieved by Maul's end.
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
Can you make a video more about how Maul is not a true sith? I know plagueis and palps were the 2, but at the same time after palps kills plagueis, maul is still his apprentice for a short time
Maul was a Sith Lord, even Plagueis thoughts were that he was too powerful to be just an assassin. Ventress is an assassin.
@@thealmightypancakeface9585 I haven’t read the plagueis novel yet. Is this addressed in the book?
@@Ethan_Lipsky Yes and no, there is YT audio book on " Plagueis " that covers Plagueis, Palpatine, and Maul.
From legends to Disney, Maul was stated to .. know .. his master was not working alone but it wasn't his place to ask.
Along Maul was explained the How crime cartels work but not the Why. He was told to figure that out for himself by Palpatine.
Any how Maul was still written in his mini comic series and novella/ novels as having street charisma, develop contacts and a few crews of smugglers/ bounty hunters for jobs he can call on. Made himself a very minor crime boss of very dangerous group of professionals. So, what is the difference of a crime lord and a rising Sith lord ?
Smuggling & murder for hire.
@@Ethan_Lipsky yes
Don't encourage him. His videos are great, but he's dead wrong about Maul not being a true Sith apprentice. Contrasting Maul to Dooku just makes, since Dooku was the one who was never a true Sith apprentice. Dooku was nothing more than a tool, a temporary replacement to be used and ultimately sacrificed when Palpatine was finally ready to make Anakin his new apprentice.
Day 489 of asking for a part 3 of what if anakin was trained by qui gon
What if the jedi found maul before palpatine did?
Did the Jedi know about the professy of the Sith'ari?
They most likely did, due to having Sith holocrons hidden away that only Jedi Masters had access to.
But, they believed that the Sith were either completely wiped out, or hidden away and so weak that they didnt have a chance to make a comback.
If they did believe the prophecy was real, they would have been making an effort to prepare for this super sith that was expected to be strong enough to wipe them out. Instead, they did the exact opposite.
Unlike Anakin, who did start life as a slave, did have love and affection, albeit not perfect, from those around him.
Maul, from day one.. NEGLECT, ABUSE AND TORTURE WITHOUT RESPITE.
On this world, police and social services would have rescued him due to the above being so blatant.
Not in that galaxy.
The only love, affection and care he ever received was on his dying breath by his perceived enemy, Obi-Wan.
I would call it ironic if it wasn't so heartbreaking and cruel.
Is there any wonder Maul could've been anything other than he was.😢
Stood on bidness
Everyone knows Dooku was the Chosen One. The Master of the Unified Force. He will return.
I thought the prophecy only spoke of a being who would bring balance to the force, and that the jedi in their ignorance and superficial attitude took that to mean that the sith would be destroyed 🤔
I don't like how paltpatine and plaugus were responsible for the chosen one...in EP 1 Sidious had no idea who he was.... Disney just likes to put Sidious in everything
It’s explained in the Legends Darth Plagueis novel, actually!
Look guys people and every and all fan of Star Wars everything and all that Star Wars canon, and George Lucas himself sad and told about Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one destined to bring balance to the force has come true has come to fruition in the ahsoka tv show episodes 4,5 and eight and so as we will see it in season two OK Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one has reached his true full potential power achieving true perfect balance in the force, and becoming the most powerful, strongest fastest smartest character ever of all time in the history of Star Wars surpassing and being above the force priestesses, the mortis gods abeloth and every character in all of Star Wars 👍👌🙌
Check your grammar muy guy
@@leavesofthreeletthembe792 it’s fact and true
That may not be true. Just because Anakin achieved balance in the force does not make him all powerful.
George Lucas also said that Luke and Leia inherited their father's potential.
Luke was more powerful than Anakin/Vader when he faced Abeloth, and was still only a fraction of her power.
It stands to reason that the Father was more powerful than Abeloth to have banished her and trapped her.
We have not seen anything from Anakin that puts him on that level.
Fulfilling a prophecy just means that his life was forseen, and that he was special. There is also a sith prophecy that was never completely fulfilled. So, in theory, there will some a sith lord that may very well be equal to Anakin. And potentially surpass him.
People thought Bane was the Sith'ari, but he didnt fulfill it. Same with Sidious.
