- On the 8th of March, 2022, McDonald’s Corporation closed the doors of all of their restaurants in Russia for Russian customers. However, already in 3 months after that, on the 12th of June, 2022, all 850 McDonald’s restaurants in Russia, developed since 1990, started to re-open under a new name “Vkusno i Tochka” (Tasty and Period).

It's noteworthy that a young man can make a video from a Russian restaurant, and nobody is rounding him up as a conscript to go to the front lines and fight. American media would have us believing that Russia is on the brink of defeat. If that's the case, nobody in that restaurant seemed to notice.

In terms of decor, furnishing and general ambience, that looks far more inviting than any McDonalds I have ever seen here in England.
The place is very busy, and full of customers, looks like it is a big success!
As an American, I have to say that those restaurants look clean, safe and very classy compared to any old McDonald's here. And that BIg Special seems to be made of beef and cheese, not an old tire ! I can't believe how big and well decorated that place is, like a real restaurant and not just a fast food dump. Why would anyone want to sell it back to McDonald's, other than the profit. As a customer I'd want it to stay the way it is. BTW, it's Springtime and Sergey's hair is free again

I wish McDonald's would collapse here in America. Ever since they changed their image and got rid of the clown and the classic look, it's nothing but a depressing place to eat at. I don't think you can call it food anymore. It provides no actual nourishment.

I thinkt that is the point, it is only russian ingredients. I think that they will offer more healthy products and stuff that will replace the meat. Because meat is not good for envirnoment etc.

McDonald's closing is no big loss. I don't eat there cuz their food sucks. Their hamburgers don't taste like real hamburgers. There is a Russian lady here that has a restaurant with the best food I have ever tasted and you get alot at a good price. Her restaurant is always packed every day and I can see why.

Обычная пища, калорийная, отлично заправляет энергией. И довольно вкусная (не надо мне рассказывать про то, что я не знаю что такое "вкусно", занимаюсь молекуляркой много лет, я знаю про вкусы многое, включая вещи о которых обычный человек, да и большинство обычных поваров, даже никогда не слышали).
И да, это не американская кухня, скорее уж голландская тогда.
А вот про колу соглашусь, все сладкие и газированные воды - вредные. Пить такое не нужно. Как и большинство чаёв кстати. Вода - лучшее, что есть.

I've basically stopped eating at McDonald's or BurgerKing.
There are two reasons for this:
Firstly, I don't think the food is that healthy and secondly, the burgers here in Turkey are the worst
that I have ever eaten at McDonalds and Burgerking in other countries when I was younger.
Maybe you know the movie "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas, when he went to a burger joint
and "criticized" the look of the burger.
I had the same experience back then and it was also overpriced.

I am happy for you. Screw McDonalds for they have become the symbol of pure greed in America. I made them my last resort (very rare)because they take the majority of local money to Chicago and take advantage of the workers. When few people would work for them they would bring in outside workers. Many poor people used to eat there for undercut prices but now they can’t afford the current prices. The McDonald's in Moscow was open by the end of June 1990 as my group ate there; becoming their first "drive thru" customers (they prepped bagged meals and brought them on our bus for us). We met with the *Canadian* franchisee owner then as well. Not sure if it was eventually sold to US or Russian ownership. But it was not from the US when it started.

There are 3 McDonald's in my small town, I have never eaten there... instead I occasionally eat gyros ,shaorma and pizza from various fast food places. Way better food!

Many Russians don't eat this kind of fast food. For example, my family, my friends never eat at McDonald's)) Mostly students and teenagers eat there, who are not very careful about what they eat.

Interesting. Australian cities are so dispersed, my ( Brisbane ) local McDonald's is comparatively tiny, as the population is fewer by far. Even in the city centre, still tiny.
