I've been using Eiclidean in Eurorack for a couple of years. It is one of the most inspirational sequencer types out there. You influence your sequences rather than hard program them. This is the best soft version I've ever seen.
Maaann. This is what I was looking for ages. I was always interested such rhytmic variations. I was always planing to get into a digging what makes a special some rhythms and yes I was thinking there is something about African jams. As a little bit trained musician , I never seen those concepts about divisions and variations from any instructor.Thank you to make it real and give us as a tool.Thank you sharing knowledge and reminding historical concepts. We re in an age where most developers just pumping non-context generators/randomisers. Most of them just space junk. This thing is real. Thank you for your effort

Just bought it and it's incredible. You can automate the parameters to add a while new layer of diversity. It's super good for making natural, complex and original drum loops with a drum rack. I do have some feedback though. You're massively undercharging so I hope it doesn't sound too picky. A triplet toggle for each voice would be great and a an option for the random direction option to occur with every note rather than every cycle. Amazing job man.
Holy crap, the beat from 5:30 onwards is insane! I always dreamt about making this kind of "broken-machinery" type of music ... need to get this sequencer asap
Dove balls deep into able live 10 suit last year this time =D I got myself a Ableton Push 2 and just started watching 1 hour of stuff a day on youtube and learning .... fuuuun times man. Get to it!
I like very much the Euclidean sequencer concept and I 've been looking for such a plug in. I have to say that this one exceeds by far my expectations. It only took five minutes to totally get the wonderfully complexed structure. Many congrats for the implementation and the excellent design. This is a very powerful creative tool. Στέλνω external midi out στο Prophet Rev2 και όπως καταλαβαίνεις πάει το Σαββατοκύριακο και μάλλον πολλά επόμενα :-))) Πάντως -αν μου επιτρέπεις μια πρώτη παρατήρηση -, θα έβρισκα πολύ χρήσιμο να μπορείς να βλέπεις πάντα και τα τέσσερα grids με grayed out αυτά που είναι off (dark grey για τα steps lightgrey για τα events). Excellent plugin! Is it possible to change the pitch of the notes with midi input? If so the sequence could be played with a keyboard for live variation!
Nvm, found random for velocity. Would be nice to adjust the note length in terms of percentage in the sequencer. Like the note length device in ableton!
Just bought it! Very very fun. I wanted to modify the patch so I could play the 4 notes from a MIDI controller rather than having to click notes but after unfreezing all of the max objects are all on top one another. Any way to fix this? Maybe opening it in an older version of Max?
I tried the device for a couple of hours and it is really one of the best M4L euclidian sequencer I've played with so far 👍 Graphics are really dope. Would it just be possible for you to add preset's midi mapping?
I would love to implement this feature but unfortunately, Ableton does not support internally separate midi channels. This is more of a design flaw. You can read more about it here cycling74.com/forums/midi-channels-in-m4l
Alkman Sorry if this is a repeat of the question - but is it possible to send each voice to a separate MIDI instrument track in Ableton? So, not outputting on different MIDI channels, but with an instrument on a different track choosing a specific voice from the sequencer as the MIDI input? Thanks!

@@sonnizen1426 Hi there.! It is nothing really fancy. I just route the output of the operator to 2 instances of the built-in saturator(waveshaper mode) and tweaked a bit the settings.
Check out Tom Hall's video "Tom Hall MaxMSP Show & Tell - Further_In 05.22.2019". In it he explains a Euclidean sequencer that he built in max, it's very helpful for building your own! Regardless, the one in this video is obviously very impressive, but you could probably build upon his one and make it nearly as good.

Martin Bielke I have never heard of Minkowski functions. With a google search I saw that they are used in computer vision but I don’t see how they can be used in a sequencer. Any ideas?
@@alkman5157 Hi. Maybe with the events happening on hyperbolas? y sqr - x sqr = 1 ; y sqr - x sqr = -1 ; y sqr - x sqr = 0. Then you could add 4 up, down and on the sides using the general formula: y sqr - x sqr > < or = 0. I don't know. Just an Idea. Also matrix rotation might be interesting. Yeah, u can create midi files in different tempos or with unequal numbers of bars and record their sequence in a new midi file. This way you can do as many layers to your sequencing as possible
really a shame that the number of notes in the sequencer loop is necessarily the same as the number of notes in the pattern. It would create some really interesting shifts. when is an update?
I don't understand what the rotation knob is doing. It doesn't do anything for me. Also, it doesn't work as in the video : at 00:38, I have the exact same parameters and the notes triggers always on the same time, there is no polyrythm. Am I doing somethinhg wrong ? Another example : I have 3 steps on the first (blue), and 4 steps on the second (green). It's supposed to be polyrythm but the notes always trigger on the same time. EDIT : one thing that could be nice is to be able to play chords in sequencer ; )
You can imagine rotation as shifting all the events or triggers at one position to the right to a normal step sequencer. If you turn the pot you will see all the events(coloured dots) shifting positions clockwise. I don't fully understand what is the problem in the second case. Is it that the resync doesn't work for you? Which ableton version are you using?

really great plugin! would love to map some of the knobs to my Push device, but the sequencer doesnt seem to emit midi from an instrument rack and there is no configure button on the vst. Im new to M4L. Am I missing something here?
Hi Alkman, I've been enjoying this for a few weeks now, but I'm suddenly having issues. It appears to be running fine, but isn't outputting any kind of signal to the instrument. It's like it's been muted. Any advice? I'm on 10.1.5 on Mac. Thanks for any help.
@alkman I am sorry I can see in 1:52 there is the sequencer and it looks like it is polyphonic, with more than one note per step, is it possible to use it like that or what am I seeing?
@ ulises All the sequences are monophonic but you can have multiple instances of the device with different notes on each one and synchronise them all with the "re-sync" button thus create polyphonic sequences. This is essentially what I am doing there. Hope that helps

I'm thinking it should be possible using a Drum Rack to assign each voice to be triggered by a separate note? Any help infinitely appreciated!
Unfortunately this is not possible with first version. The pro version comes bundled with a device that routes each individual voice to any midi track inside live.
Hey man. This thing is amazing. For real. I am able to get notes coming out of the plugin in 'sequencer' mode, but in MIDI mode, no notes are coming out. If I could see some documentation, I could probably figure out what I am doing wrong, but I don't know where to find it. Any ideas?
@@christianwiseman7224 Hi Cristian! If “midi” button is enabled the device will output notes only when it receives a note from a midi clip or an armed track. If it is disabled the device will output when ableton's play button is pressed. This feature is there in order to allow you to control the device with midi clips. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I'm using the sequencer on two different tracks. But when I apply automation on the re-sync option in one track, it affects the other one. Not only that if I remove the automation re-sync stays on and ends up crashing AL. If I have automation in more than one place and I press play, once the first automation gets active, this triggers the " enable-automation " of Ableton. Therefore the rest of my automation goes to gray and becomes inactive. BTW > I just tried with one track only and the same issue.
This device is not syncing properly with Ableton Live for me - after a couple of loops it is slightly off the beat (and not in a poly rhythmic way :). Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks Thom! These are custom home brew presets. The first one is just a basic fm synth and the second one is a fairly complicated fm synth which feeds two wavefolders.

Quick question if I may - so far I'm noticing the "clockhand", if you will, doesn't rotate all the way around. Is it possible for me to use it to sequence external Gear? So one voice for my minilogue XD and lets say three voices for my Elektron Machinedrum (Kick, snare, Hihat)?
Hey bought it a hour ago and I have some bugs... If I connect It to 4 midi tracks via the euclidean out first it works fine but after a little bit of tweaking the synths break up the midi connection, even if the euclidean out shows the midi trigger. Any Idea? Pls keep this in mind for future updates.

Hi I have Ableton 10 and legally bought a plugin, downloaded it, but it doesn`t trigger the notes. Parts are triggered (colorful) number of steps vary, it rotates, but it doesnt do anything. btw pitch field (the letter of a note) of part one is grey, others are black if turned on which is wierd aswell... If I put other max plugin sequencer (MDD snake) it works. Any idea? I NEED THIS BEAUTY TO WORK, you know?.)

disable midi mode :) in midi mode it only plays the sequence while it has a note as input

Sure! it can be used in front of any midi instrument including midi drums racks.

Please check the rotation selector right of the rotating sequencers. There are 4 options there clockwise, anti-clockwise, bounce, and random.

Is it possible for me to use it to sequence external Gear? So one voice for my minilogue XD and lets say three voices for my Elektron Machinedrum (Kick, snare, Hihat)?
Yes it is definitely possible. The device outputs normal midi notes which you can route any way you want.
I don't know why it constantly crashes my ableton 10 :( I have updated 1.1 version of the sequencer
You need to update ableton as well. As the description says, this device supports ableton 10.1.2 or later.

Hey bought it a hour ago and I have some bugs... If I connect It to 4 midi tracks via the euclidean out first it works fine but after a little bit of tweaking the synths break up the midi connection, even if the euclidean out shows the midi trigger. Any Idea? Pls keep this in mind for future updates.

Hi I have Ableton 10 and legally bought a plugin, downloaded it, but it doesn`t trigger the notes. Parts are triggered (colorful) number of steps vary, it rotates, but it doesnt do anything. btw pitch field (the letter of a note) of part one is grey, others are black if turned on which is wierd aswell... If I put other max plugin sequencer (MDD snake) it works. Any idea? I NEED THIS BEAUTY TO WORK, you know?.)

I've never used cv tools but I cannot see why it wouldn't work. Euclidean sequencer outputs normal midi notes.

you can simply route the midi output of the device to a new track and record it in a midi clip
