Having served in the USN on board an outdated LST 905 (USS Madera County) from Vietnam to Kowloon China, I can attest to the durability of a USN Navy vessel. Our boat was flat bottom (I have picture proof of flat bottom), and we were on our back to Vietnam with much needed cargo above and below decks, and we were hit by the toughest Typhoon in 1967. We had to put into port in the Philippines just to mKe a repair to the ramp seal. Thanks to the design of the flat bottom and the technologies of the Second World War, we only sustained cracks in two places from Port to Starboard and lost our bow ramp seal. With no loss of life and no injuries. I seem to remember that due to the storm, we arrived a day after our anticipated date.
I was serving on the USS Carl Vinson when we skirted a typhoon near Thailand around ‘88 or ‘89. At my age it’s hard to remember. Anyway we took water over the bow similar to 5.55 in this video, but the conditions were worse for us. Great video. Thanks to the creator.
I was on a helicopter carrier (smaller than an aircraft carrier) and we were unable to avoid a hurricane, we lost several aircraft that were securely chained to the flight deck. There was no time to get them to the hanger bay!
Sept. 1971, Hurricane Ginger. The USS Forrestal returning from a 6 month Mediterranean deployment diverted north to avoid it. Naval ships have radar and weather tracking equipment to make sure they don’t run into major storms. No navy in the world would attempt to go through a hurricane. Most of the time we couldn’t tell we were in the water it was such a smooth ride. Felt sorry for the smaller ships. I imagine they were toss around pretty good.
The study of weather and hurricanes is done by the USAF by using a WC_130 Super Hurcules. and they fly through the hurricanes with weather instruments to record and annalise the conditions in the storm in real time and record data.. The C130 has four turboprop jet engines and is one tough aircraft!! USAF veteran, aircraft fighter intercpror mechanic, retired. .

Hurricanes (Typhoons) are most dangerous not so much to a US super carrier but to the aircraft on its deck. Even well secured they can be damaged by debris and just by wind alone.
What is the modern technology to face and challenge of stormy weather and cyclone in ocean Only solution to create ship in to submarine .the rescue operation on submarine or 2,3,4,5 submarines. Second method tte whole body will rotate external and internal remain standstill.there is two layers . external move and internal remain stand still . This two things can save ship from cyclone on sea .
They show a tall ship, which is obviously constructed completely opposite as the US Aircraft Carrier and we partly see computeranimated ships in rough water too! So - the video is not very interresting from that perspective😌
