Thankyou Mitchell, I'm very pleased you enjoyed it. I just posted anothe video you may like on the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, that I just completed. Great scenery and music. Go to my YT channel(search Tony Tonkin) if you'd like to see.Cheers
Thanks for sharing. I did the same trek in 1986 before any motorization...there was no one at Thorong La then, and we allowed ourselves a month because from Muktinath to Phokara was all walking only.
Thanks for your comment. I think you were fortunate to have done the complete and original trek in 1986.A complete Annapurna Circuit trekking experience !!!! It would have been a different experience from today with many people now trekking the Circuit, many new teahouses and much transport from Muktinath. Still however, today its still an amazing experience, one which I really enjoyed, but one which may even change more in the years to come !!PS You may also enjoy my Gokyo/EBC video on my channel. Cheers Tony
Thanks Ram. And thanks for the great service your Company, Trekking Team Pvt Ltd gave us to enjoy this trek. We all had a wonderful trek which I think shows in all our happy faces on the video. And congratulations on the Company 25TH Anniversary. Great service to many people over many years. Amazing and Well Done.
Great video packing so much in which I recognised from our trek on the same circuit in May 2017. My top tip to anyone is to take the hour long plane turbo prop flight from Jomsom to Pokhara rather than the road trip. We did it by road on a local bus and it was ten hours of tortuous, overcrowded slow progress due to the poor road - average of seven miles per hour for the first six hours or so!
Thanks for the comment. As you can see from my RUclips, we had a private jeep to take us from Jomson to Tatopani (which was slow but less tortuous than the local bus) , then trekked to Ghorepani/Poon Hill, then trekked to Nayaphul, and a local bus to Pokhara. This way we experienced sunrise at Poon Hill which was a fantastic experience. I think this may be a good option for new trekkers to consider. As you'd know many end the trek at Jomson and fly out to Pokhara !!
Hi Geralyne, Yes I would definitely advise using a tour company. Their experience, knowledge and contacts are indispensable to make your trek comfortable and rewarding. Ive done three Nepal treks with the same company called Trekking Team. The company has operated in Nepal for 30 years by the same family, which says allot !! You could contact them via trekteam@mail,com.np or phone 97714228163, and I'm sure Ram or Hari Pathak will help you with any enquires you make. Be careful, there are several co's called trekkingteam !!Bye the way please look at my Gokyo/Everest Base camp trek on my RUclips channel (Tony Tonkin). It's my favourite trek with awesome scenery, BUT, there all great !!! Cheers
Yes ,I appreciate there must have been allot of changes since 1997 !! Many more teahouses, shops & facilities would have been constructed since then!!.But good for the locals, hey! !The road to Muktinath has had an profound effect on the trek. Unpleasant trekking on or close to a road with transport !!! That's why we took a jeep on this short section. Overall however an incredible experience and still one I'd recommend !! Did you watch my Everest BC/Gokyo RUclips. ???Absolutely my favorite trek.!!!Amazing scenery !! Cheers
We didn't have time to trek to Tilicho Lake. But next year we trekked to Gokyo Lake which was very /very beautiful. You may like to watch on this YT link. ruclips.net/video/3Kz0wY5XY-Y/видео.html
Great Video Tony! Probably the best video of the circuit i have seen so far. It really shows all the trail and scenery, giving me a clear picture of what to expect on the circuit. Mind if i ask when did you do the trek? Seems like the weather is always clear.
Thankyou for your comments...much appreciated. I did the trek with my friends mid October. The weather is generally dry and warmer and the skies are usually clear during this time of year(September -November).But always remember, your in the mountains, so "anything" is possible----there are no guarantee's --always be prepared. But do it !!!.....its a fantastic experience !!!!
Hi Tony I really liked that your movie concentrated on the mountains and the scenery. You got some really nice photography. Looks like you scored with the weather everywhere you went. Congratulations on a great achievement. Can you please tell me when in November you started your trek and how crowded you found things eg. Did you have to walk slow because there were people right in front of you, and did you have trouble getting a bed? Thx Pete
Hi Peter, Thanks for the compliments. I think the movie showed why this is such a great trek to do by highlighting the difference in scenery you'll enjoy from the lush rice fields at the start to the harsh but beautiful 'moon' like scenery at Thorong Pass, 5416mts. We did the trek mid Oct. supposedly the best time for weather and temp. Obviously being the best time there were other walkers but it raised no issues of walking slowly etc. and I wouldn't call it at all crowded The trek is 210km so people "space out" over this long distance.the only time it got "busy" was from Thorong Pedi (or High Camp) to the Pass because everyone is trying to get there 9.30-10am before the strong winds start to blow. (You can see the number of walkers in this section of the movie) Our guide did walk ahead to make sure we had a bed two days before reaching the pass, so I'd be careful in this section of the trek as there is not as much accommodation as on the rest of the trek. It was a truly great experience. If you have any other questions please let me know. Cheers Tony
Thanks Jordan, Yes enjoyed time in Nepal. Been three times now, first time 3years ago Annapurna Circuit, next year Everest/ Gokyo and this year ABC Trek. Hey please subscribe so you don't miss my next video on ABC Trek. And I come all the way from Australia !!

Hi Marion, we did the trek in the month of October. This time of the year(Oct/Nov) usually get fine weather. I also trekked Gokyo/Everest & Annapurna Base Camp in the same month, different years, and had the great weather !! Cheers
A large part of the trek from Jomsom to Tadapani is on the road (built to allow worshipers to get to 'holly" Muktinath) and its long/mainly flat/dusty and not that interesting so were advised to hire the jeep!! Pleased we did !! .If you look on my vid you can see a few trekkers on the road) Many trekkers stop their trek at Jomson and fly back to KMD .
This is great! I am leaving this week to do the circuit and it looks like you had a great trip being able to squeeze in Poon hill. How many days did you take?
We took 14 days for full trek. May suggest you get transport, jeep or bus from Jomson to Tadapani like on my video ,to save two days trekking on a bad roads . Good luck.
US 1500 which included private jeep to Besisahar to start the trek, private jeep from Jomsom to Tatopani and flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu, a guide, porter, all food and lodging !! To me a very good price.!! I can pass on the Nepal trekking companies name if you enquire.
Prabesh Mahat To explain,if you were planning to do this trek, and wanted the name of the trekking company I used, please let me know and I could give you all their contact details.
Was the road to Manang in when you did your trek? We are thinking of doing the Circuit, but have been told that the road has negatively impacted the route. Just curious if it wad in then, and if so how it impacted you. Were yu able to get off the road onto the alternate trails?
Hi, We stayed on trails all the way to Manang, as you can see on my video. Where the road has negatively impacted the Circuit is around the Jomson region of the track. You can see on the video we took a jeep on this day,and if you watch closely you can see we passed many people trekking the trail which was the road. Not pleasant with cars and trucks upsetting your trek !!! Hope this helps
Thanks so much Tony. I really appreciate your comments and loved your video. Can you tell me what year you did the trip? Did you use the alternate trails that apparently were put in after the road to Manang went through?
We did the trip November 2016,and we did the Gokyo /Everest Base Camp trek November 2017. NO, I'll stand corrected, but its my understanding that the trails to Manang have always been there, and its only over the last few years they have been building the road to give greater access to the Manang area. If concerned talk to a good company in Nepal to get all your questions answered correctly. I can suggest an excellent company we've used twice, they have been in business for 25 years and are honest and efficient. TREKKING TEAM PVT LTD, www.trekkingteamnepal.com and ask for Ram or Hari , they are the owners. I'm sure they'll look after you and a great company to book through, for guides/porter/everything and look after you. Hope this helps.
Tony Tonkin Thanks so much Tony for your Suggestions and referral! I really appreciate it! Some of our Group is leaning towards the Annapurna Sanctuary to avoid The potential road issue, but I Am really drawn to the Tibetan Culture which I understand is Part of the circuit. The Sanctuary Seems more geared towards accommodating Trekkers, and does not have as much Exposure to the culture and small Villages plus I am not such a fan of Constantly Going up and down. So having someone Reliable to speak to there is great. Thanks so much.
Thanks for the 'rap'. Yes we had a porter and a guide. Its a long trek so the porter made it so much more enjoyable, and our guide ,Ramesh, was invaluable with communications, food ,accommodation and so much more and allot of fun !!! Can highly recommend this option and its not allot of money !!!
Hi, my group of 4, cost US$1500 ea, for EVERYTHING including, pickup & dropoff @ airport , 2 nights accom. in KM, a private jeep from KM to Besishahar, the jeep from Jomson to Tatopani, flight from Pokhara to KM. I can highly recommend Trekking Team PVT.LTD, 25 yrs in business (reliable) and Ram Pathak the boss and his team are fantastic. I believe if you do it independent a guide may be $US 20-25 per day, a guide 10-15. A good site to check and to answer many of these questions is "thelongestwayhome.com" Hope this helps.
I'm told by my friend appearing in this vid and now in staying in Kathmandu before starting another trek, that many roads in Thamel have been built since my vid of 2016. Also much construction work is happening at the airports. This is good news. The trekking will always be great.
