Very helpful! Youre an excellent instructor, great amount of info without straying from the demonstration - which is also at an easy to follow pace! Ty!
Great illustration- I am going to try to paint some eyes these weekend, paying attention to the details you had mentioned - your drawing is amazing, the eye is so beautifully rendered- thank you so much for the video 💕
what kind of a paintbrush is that? I initially used a synthetic one and didn't get the finish like yours, then switched to hog (its always disastrous when i use hog :/). I am starting to think maybe my base is not well prepared? please help!
Utrecht 239 series mixed synthetics. With some random smatterings of other brushes. But mostly I go with synthetic. Not having seen your painting, you might consider the angle of the brush to the canvas when laying down a stroke. I often work at very acute angles from the canvas surface. Thanks for watching! Never stop painting!
One of the mistakes often made in painting the whites of the eyes is making them too light. They are often darker than we think. The mixture would be burnt sienna and ultramarine blue into a neutral black, then adding white to match the perceived value.
I have not watched this video yet. I am in the process of just starting to. What makes me think that I’m going to watch this video from front to back and not once will this tutorial show me the colours that they are using to mix the whites of the eyes, if this tutorial does that I will fall over and eat my hat
How can I make someone have smiling eyes, I’m doing a portrait of my brother at the mo, I haven’t him smiling as wanted to avoid doing Teeth! But he’s too serious so how to do smiling eyes please?
