How to Spot Algorithmic Trading and Spoofing

Algorithmic trading and spoofing type of activity spotted by JTrader during a live Bookmap webinar (17th Nov 2021). A large player affects the offer by pushing the price down in a stair-step pattern, filling their resting bids.

JTrader began trading at the young age of 18, while was in high school, working and studying late at night until 3 am. He was trading European equities and covered warrants (similar to options). He was trading 30 to 40m Euro of volume traded each month, going over 400m per year mainly using tape (L2 and T&S, generating 30-50 trades per day) through Twice Sim Trade, Italy. He focused on scalping L2 and mentions wished he had Bookmap back then. Today JTrader trades mainly Futures, US equities, and options and is main trader at Smallcaproom.
