I was at a special care unit in Canada, there there “time outs” that was just public humiliation. We also had “multi purpose rooms” which were 5” 5” concrete rooms with nothing in it, they’d just throw you in there for the whole day (6 hours)

I drive a sped bus and on two occasions one of my riders hit/assaulted my bus monitor. I completed a disciplinary form on student but they only gave her 1 DAY OFF BUS! I'm so frustrated! What can I do?

Depends, maybe don’t call them sped or be ableist to them? Also you need to be more patient with them, and you cannot be rude or abusive, (in only saying that because abuse is common in this situation) and if the kid was lashing out like that it probably wasn’t for no reason, depends on the disability but %99 of the time they don’t lash out for no reason, however can be more aggressive

You have rights too. Get a restraining order against that student if the school isn't going to do anything about it. Why should your safety and those on the bus and road be at risk?

@@ashrobertson6904if I was the one assaulted and the school didn't protect me, I would get a restraining order. Others can use the law on their side too.

    I have 2 questions
1: can a discipline run from one school year to the next year? For example a child was suspended for 45 days, 5 at the end of the school year and 40 at the start of a new school year.
2: If a discipline is implemented for 45 days, does that 45 days include summer school days or just regular school days?
