1. Have a strategy (min. 5 years of historical data)
2. Have minimum 1 year of live positive results (20-30% in that year)
3. Have your own trading capital. (can still use funded acct but have backup, even better to copy trades in both accts.)
4. Have a 6 month emergency fund plus %25 buffer.
5. Have a ruthless self belief (only you know what you do and what it takes) Don't let people that plant seeds of doubt get to you, they're just concerned and don't understand what you do).

tip 4 can’t be further from the truth life has a way to mess with you sometimes. For most of this year I’ve been consistently profitable and nothing goes wrong. But for the months im statistically worse at trading (ber months) My mum gets ill and is unable to work so I have to cover for her loss income. Lesson learned have enough money to stay afloat in case of an emergency. This video couldn’t have come at a better time almost loss my confidence altogether. Thank you for making this

So an 18 year old living with their parents and a 35 year old making a financial mistake are in the same boat?
Obviously the point I was making is that the older you get, the less risks you can take.

That was the one part of the video I felt was slightly off as well. I understand where it was coming from though. I guess it can vary case by case. I’m close to 35 (33) and would like to play it safer with trading and manage risk, so maybe what he was saying is true in my case. At the same time there are people in their 20s who likely need to be safer with risk and people over 35 who could still have quite a lot of risk wiggle room.

It's still an assumption - i.e. you are assuming the hypothetical 35 year old is not a free agent .

@@dcbrit2003 the point is that the older you are, the more conservative you have to be.
A young adult living with their parents has much more of a safety net. If they lost their job and all of their savings they’re not really in a terrible situation.
A 35 - 40 year old most likely has bills, a home, potentially children an people dependent on them. If they lost all income and savings the fallout could be catastrophic, and very difficult to recover. The average age of a homeless person is between 36-45 for a reason.
Financial Problems in your 30s is a much bigger deal than it is in your 20s. That’s a fact.
Is it the case 100% of the time? No. But generally it is.
It’s not an assumption, it’s a fact that the data testifies of.
