Paint with me! Trying a new paint for Air Dry reborn painting! Lafranc Bourgeois Flashe Vinyl Paint

- Trying out Lafranc Bourgeois vinyl air dry paints.
These paints have not been used on reborns, but I plan to see how they hold up!
So far, I love the way they paint, love the consistency I get, only needing water to thin. They go on smooth, and dry quick. Not a lot of time for error fix, so work in small areas at a time to be able to correct before setting! There is no beading and no primer is needed. The paint adheres as if it becomes one with the vinyl. It does not seem to sit on top of the vinyl like most air dry paints I have used before. Once painted, it has to dry for 1 week before the matte varnish can be applied. To allow the paint to fully cure. I will update on the matte varnish when I get to that point! I will also do a durability test video to see what these paints can handle! So far I am loving them, fingers crossed they work for the long term❤️

Hello. Please, tell me what matte varnish did you use? How did these paints stand up to time, did they retain their original appearance?
@Tatiana-ji3ln I will try to do an update on this soon! I have recently moved, so this head that was painted has been through a move and everything, as soon as I am settled I will update how it has held up! I used the matte varnish that came with the paint set- the paint set is listed in the description! When I packed this head was in perfect condition as when it was painted, I do feel this paint held up really well and is definitely a great air dry option, but once i am settled I will do an updated video❤️😊

Do you have to use a medium with these paints to make it stick to the vinyl?
No, they paint directly to the vinyl from the bottle to the vinyl, this paint seems to hold up well! this head I still have, and is still exactly as I painted it in this video, no peeling, fading, cracking, this paint works very well for reborning! i still prefer heatset but these paints are a great option for airdry! the info on the paints are in the description :)

Are you using Distilled Water ? Or is it just normal water?
Your painting looks good. I'm new to the Reborn Family and I'm about to start painting my very first kit; I'm excited....
I am using distilled water :) These paints seem to mix well and dried quick, not a lot of room for error! but consistency is great and painted for me just as well as genesis heat set, which has been what I have used since I started! Ive tried a few air dry paints for reborns and i did not have much luck, but with genesis heat set no longer being in production, i wanted to try out some options for when I do run out of genesis. Good luck to you! Reborning is such a fun hobby, and it gets addicting!! :) You will have so much fun! There are a few different options for paints, i prefer heatset, and there are some new heatsets coming out that are definitely worth trying out!

I am using Magical Realism Airdry from Aussie Reborn. I've already bought more kits already, so the addiction has already started. I've even got a large set of goodies too...

looks good but why are you not letting the paint dry in between layers? and why no limbs with each layer of paint?
the whole point of this is to see how they work for me. I only painted the head on this kit, i decided I didnt want to paint this whole big kit if it happens to not work...these paints dry quick, the layers are so thin, they do not need to sit long before moving on to the next color. Ive never liked airdry paints because of all the wait time in between layers... so i wanted to see how this paint paints for me like i paint with genesis, allowing the layers to dry to touch before next layer, i could not rub the paint in between before next layer was applied.. it wasnt coming off... I really liked working with it. and when complete ive let it dry for a week and it was well done, just as good as any airdry ive used for reborning. im still not 100% on its durability compared to genesis, but it is as good as other airdrys i have tried, ive tried ultimate fusion paints and miracle blend paints for reborns, i did not care for either one. I actually completed a full baby in this way for a customer who is a newborn photographer and she is testing its durability for me, she handles her reborn frequently for practice, with clothes changes and posing. I completed that baby end of december, so far so good. We will see how it does for a year, before I could say this is worth doing or not! ;)
