I absolutely love my W&N cotman set, I got a small set when I wanted to learn watercolour and loved them so much I bought the large set of 45 (it’s the full range of 40 colours with some duplicates). Cotman is actually their student grade range but they’re still fab, as I finish each pan I’m slowly replacing the paints with the W&N professional but most of the Cotmans have a decent lightfast rating and they’re all very easy to activate with plenty of pigment. I really liked your finished artwork. I’m scared of portraits but I love watching how you build up your layers. One day I’ll be brave enough to attempt to follow along with you 😂
These are student grade?!!!!!! Wow the professional paints must be incredible!! The pigments are soooo nice 😍 Thanks for all this information! Hope you start doing some portraits soon ☺️
@@sallytownsendart they’re excellent for student grade aren’t they! If you’re looking at buying them the Cotman label is student grade and their artist ones are W&N professional. To be honest I don’t think there’s a huge difference in quality between the two ranges apart from some of the professionals having higher lightfast ratings & probably some different pigments and the professional range also has a lot more colours. I can’t remember exactly how many but I think it’s around 100 colours compared to 40 in the cotman range
I have the same, I have bought full pan sets and tubes but never those individually wrapped half pans because that kind of palettes you put them in are really expensive here. But I also so much want to unwrap some 😅 Lovely box and beautiful artwork!
