The fleche and any forward movement in which the rear foot completely passes the front foot is forbidden. Any offence will be penalised as specified for penalties in the 1st group (cf. t.158-162, t.165, t.170). Any hit scored by the fencer at fault will be annulled. " The so-called flunge isn't in the rules and is given by referees, though the FIE is aware the rules need to be updated, either to define the flunge or ban it. The latter is unlikely unless the proposed restoration of the true fleche goes through.

Where I'm at they call them saber fleches but conforming to the rules
