Thia is waht you should look for= fully sealed, the largest inlet tube you can find, largest opening to the filter as possible and largest filter inside the enclosure. All of these add up in terms of throttle response and air flow. The Takeda looks like its fits all those. Also a intake is more beneficial with a stage 1 or stage 2 tune.
I have a 2023 M440i. I upgraded to a Dinan Air Intake + Turbo Inlet pipe. As of now, I do not have any other upgrades, nor do I have an ECU Tune (I will later). In Sport/Sport+ mode, the intake sounds excellent. It gobbles up the CFMs and makes pretty, noticeable noises. Awesome Dinana build quality and fit & finish...all for $690. Unbeatable for what you get. I would recommend this combo above all others. Cheers.
Understanding flow dynamics and thermodynamics, unless the enclosed box is carbon fiber, you’re robbing yourself of power with heat soak. The plastic closed box intakes have been shown to lose power. Some intakes with lids, have shown to have better intake air temps by removing the lid. Unless the intake is carbon fiber and fully enclosed, you’re better off running without any type of box at all. On stock turbos and stock tunes, you’ll only get intake noise on this vehicle. With tuning and upgraded turbos you NEED a proper intake. The best intakes are the ones with the full replacement tubes, the intake pipe and the turbo inlet. These are the loudest, provides less turbulence of flow, and keep your intake temps down. Armaspeed, Eventuri, AMS, and HKS are the best performing intakes on the market. Armaspeed and HKS, (open box HKS, provide the best sound. The plastic half tube intakes, AEM, Injen, aFe, etc, you’re better off with the factory system.
Thanks for the great efforts in explaining almost all MKV Supra available in the market but you have missed one intake which I think is the best sound (Armaspeed intake)
Tried a Sxth element open air intake on my Elantra N. Felt like a plastic bag was over the filter. I could tell a drastic difference in pick up now. Turbo noises were outta this world but car felt much slower. Took that off put stock intake back on, was back to normal. So I did oiled panel filter and replaced the rubber hose/tube with a smooth plastic one from Sxth. I had Hondas & acuras 20+ years ago, no intakes ever add anything more than 1 or 2 hp. I dyno'd my Integra after every bolt on n could see what made power. Aem true cold air intake added 1hp back then. DC sports headers added I think like 5 to the wheel.
I personally like the eventuri and GruppeM only cause of the Carben fiber enclosure other than that the price is a bit hard to get over. I like the Eventuri engine cover as well.
Have you considered doing any videos on different exhaust systems whether it be turbo back or cat back or cat list personally I just want the speed not so much loud ass noises. And the deeper the bass sound, no drone. the better. 😅
The biggest benefit is replacing the turbine, not the air intake. If these modifications are not for the racing environment, they can only increase 1 horsepower at most.
anyone looking for power gain with just intake alone well be disapointed i think hks and best motoring said it best its all about the improve trottle reponse and intake sound.
I made my own… sorta FTP chargepipe, FTP inlet pipe and FTP drop in filter. Removed the rear baffle and capped it off with part from Verus Engineering. Also have Velossa Tech big mouth mounted behind the center grille. Added 80 hp and 100 lb-ft at the rear wheels 😮 (jk)
You really don’t need to as you get plenty of the air intake sounds even with it on. Taking it off will expose it to increased hot engine bay air which is detrimental to power.
@@TheLemonFactor instantly swapped back to stock since its sucking hot air from the enginebay. you know anything i can buy to fill in the gaps between the arma housing and enginebay? also didn't care for the material that was flaking off the inside of the intake pipe.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had an air intake add any noticeable improvement in power 🤷♂️🫤
HKS comes with a chargepipe and BOV, so that's where that extra money goes. You could also wait for a discount since we are in the holidays.
They may offer that as a package, but in looking again, I still don’t see the BOV offered at the price I’ve identified.
Awesome, this is exactly what I was looking for... this is awesome information... I have no clue what to look for.
I’m glad you found the video helpful 👍
Which are you leaning more towards

What is you just tuned your car before adding the cold air just to see what you gain with just the stock set up
im liking the DInan because its closed, works with strut bars, and isnt the most outrageous price. I really wish i knew how each of them sound though.

😁👍
Would you suggest just leaving the mst intake box open ?

I'll sell you my Arma speed for 500 bucks
Thanks, but I’ve already purchased one 👍
