    People who dont like this technique are missing the point. The man is giving you one option of how to deal with a rifle to your back. He did not say it was perfect but come a day when a real rifle is in your back this way may be the only option you have.

    I am a former Special Operations soldier, I can tell you that there are many ways to disarm a target against a pistol, knife or rifle. The real trick is to get your head and body out of the possible bullet path. Speed and accuracy are severely important and muscle memory plays an important part...practice practice, practice. If anyone has a question you can contact me on FB by searching Sean Rick. I was a hand to hand instructor for various specialized units. With what I believe is about to happen in our country , I do not mind teaching or advising fellow patriots.,,,,The more sweat in training, the less blood in combat !

    • @belgianwhitewolf5451
      @belgianwhitewolf5451 9 лет назад

      I totally agree with your statement : "get your head and body out of the possible bullet path". Fact is, he doesn't do that, he only restricts his chance of survival by only using his hand to veered off the possible bullet path. So he only relies on the hope he will be faster than his attacker. Don't you think he could "step out" (sorry, English is not my strong point) the possible bullet path at the same time he veers off the possible bullet path in order to increase his chances of survival ?

    Believe it or not, your response can be faster than your assailant's trigger pull. It's about the reaction time it takes for them to A) process that you're resisting, B) decide to shoot in response, C) send command to finger to pull trigger, D) actually pull the trigger. All that can take up to .5-.6 seconds, which is a very narrow window to get out of the way of the barrel, but not impossible. That's why you train. Also why you want to keep the person as relaxed as possible.

    There are many legit videos however with that said, one needs to find what is suitable for his or her needs and capabilities. A person can practice spinning a quarter from a clockwise spin and another person can master it from the counter-clockwise spin...nice analogy right? But it works either way ! Find you Niche and go for it but do not overload your brain with a million techniques, find a few that you are good at and again...practice, practice and more practice. Good luck everyone !

      +Silver Mirai This is crap. No offense, but this will get you killed. There is no safe way to disarm obviously, but this guy did not cover NEAR enough to make it effective. The guy you are disarming would have to basically let go of his gun for this to work. Plus if he is wearing a should strap terrible idea. (disarms when the guy has a shoulder strap is a bad idea period no matter the technique.. lol) Main point should not be getting his gun it should be getting the gun out of the way so you can fight him. One hand should be grabbing the gun, and the other hand should be hitting him in the nose bringing tears to his eyes blurring his vision and staggering him if you get a good hit. ThIs gives you time to either get your knife out or to then take his gun away. This guy has a good basic idea of what to do, but his training has made him blind to the realistic way of how things work. Not saying i know how to do things perfectly, but my way would work much better then what he has shown you. Either way can get you killed. Neither way is fool proof, and both was there is a chance that you won't get the gun or you won't do what you were meaning to do and you will then most likely die. If you ever do get a gun in your face think it out first. Don't just blindly try to get his gun. That will get you killed or shot.

    • @kadenlancaster5646
      @kadenlancaster5646 8 лет назад +1

      +Anthony Jimison The funny thing is that this is a load of bs. A person will not let go the easy. Not to mention if you are surrounded as was one of the scenarios in the video a disarm is a terrible idea. You grab the gun and someone is going to shoot you. Probably wouldn't get to the next step before you get shot. It would might work if you were in a large group of people in that scenario, but you should be working on getting behind the guy during the disarm to use him as cover from the other enemy soldiers. On a one on one situation i would not grab his gun as the second step. I would personally Move the barrel break his nose with my left hand then go for the disarm. (or perhaps a flip depending on the size and position of said enemy) This video is a good way to get killed. The first disarm might work, but that is a huge might. (i did like how he was trying to keep things simple though. This would work great against someone who doesn't have any form of training. So against a thug it would be a good idea, but against a soldier i would go for something different.) Use what ever you think would work best. I just think this would be a terrible way of doing things.. (plus if they have a shoulder strap on you're screwed.)

      Your typical thug or criminal or anyone without training do not follow or understand common sense firearms techniques. Watch Active Self Protection videos.
      20 feet, that as a general rule is considered the threshold for a safe distance. You might be surprised how quickly 20 feet becomes 0 feet, and a knife wielding attacker has closed the distance before a shot is taken.

      Thug wouldn't use a rifle to rob, but with a pistol, but they need to stay close, not because they don't know the training but they have to, if you are too far, the thug can't grab your wallet or phone, and might grab alot of attention to himself doing so if you are far from him

    I agree with you about "PRACTICE/TRAINING" so the techniques you learn and imply will become muscle memory". In this situation, a seasoned infantryman would have the trigger speed to kill the enemy as soon as movement is observed.
    This scene to me is "optimal" conditions, in the sense the soldier is too close and slow to react. In combat any movement after I say "don't move" as soon as the hand moved, trigger pulled and combatant stopped.

    @ 1:27 "IF you feel really uncomfortable.....make a kick to the groin" LOL! I can't imagine anyone not feeling really uncomfortable with a rifle barrel stuck in their backs.

    I always have my rifle ready so not so good for the bad guy that got bold enough. But if i was held up. Thanks for the good training can be worked into army combative training. You never stop learning

    The best defence in this situation is to be really nice to the gunman and do what ever he says.

    i've used this technique with snap caps and home made primer only blanks, never had one go off when it was against my back, same thing with gun against head, it takes longer for a person to react than you think

    True, but that's why when you snatch the gun you best immediately hit them with either the barrel or the stock of the gun and disarm them.

    In the army, in basic training, we had to determine our 'sighting eye'. This is done from the prone position with a partner looking directly down the barrel. The point: there are times when it is necessary to point a weapon at something you don't intent to shoot.

    exactly. when it's literally life or death, and death is certain otherwise, fighting back is better than dying. especially if your keepers are dumb enough to get close enough for this to happen. people dont realize it, but when someone is this close to you with a firearm, with a little practice, it is so easy to disarm an individual. just because you have a gun, it still takes a 3rd of a second to react. it takes less time to act first.

    what you want to do is back up and feel the tip in your back, reaching around with your hand is more likely to make them think you are trying to take it from them

    I have read all your comments and think that what you say makes a lot of sense. Putting up resistance or even dying on your own terms beats a death by torture any day. This is something to resolve yourself to prior to being captured.
    Also, anyone who's a shooter understands how hard it is in reality to hit a moving target. Especially as the distance increases.

    Yea , easy to do it in slow motion , but try to do it rapidly in a situation of stress , and knowing that your enemy will not stand still waiting for you to dis-weapon him , but he will resist and maybe counter-attack , so it become more difficult with these conditions .
