- This is my updated opinion about all of the Sumeru or 3.0 - 3.7 characters released in Genshin Impact to commemorate the MASSIVE Fontaine update that's coming soon :D Goodbye Sumeru!

didn't mean it to happen but C6 Collei. I built her for ER and EM rather than crit and weirdly she's working out better.
Also tried a Physical Collei she's niche but surprisingly good at niche.

I'll never get tired of imagine how things could've been for Dehya if she was design like Nilou, but for Burning instead. Kind of weird how the shittiest reaction doesn't get any treatment while Bloom at least still has Hyper bloom to fall back on, now they have Bountiful Cores. But then again, Shatter still exist in this game
Honestly, burning damage can actually get somewhat okay in the meta once you have enough buffs. I'm thinking that if I ever get a C2 Kazuha (I'm spending most of my stuff now so I'm stuck at C0 unless I get lucky) I'll try to build a meme burning team with Nahida, Diona (I have C6, finally), Bennett and Kazuha (I could actually use Sucrose now...or even Albedo for the 125 em buff hahahhaaa)
But Kazuha is the best candidate for now sibce I have C6 Bennett and Kazuha can apply pyro that way as well

Nilou's restriction makes so much sense because without it, she'd be broken af. She's one of the few recent characters whose gimmick and playstyle is well thought of. The complete opposite of Dehya whose entire kit is conflicting against each other.
I think if, instead of hard restriction, it was made like Gorou’s buff (scaling with number of characters of certain element), it would feel less restrictive while still not being broken af and incentivising building only with hydro+dendro.
@@anyanPAgreed, this would be so much better. I like Nilou's kit overall, but being forced to use hydro + dendro ONLY is a terrible choice by Hoyoverse.
Fr they should've made dehya's ult focused on defending or something or supporting cuz her ult kinda sucks since it doesn't really help the team and not good for dps
If Nilou didn't have a restriction she would be _weaker_ actually. No access to HB, no access to Burgeon, signifiant problems with dendro app, hydro app, energy if you replace ONE character in team with other element.

@anyanP If you add another element but keep the bloom only restriction, then enemies won't be able to be affected by the third element anyway, making it virtually useless; or, if you remove the restriction, you have less bloom reactions occurring, which means less bountiful cores. So it would affectively be Bloom with higher damage and Aoe but fewer reactions, which is considerably worse than where it currently stands.
One of the best part about Sumeru roster was also how many old 'not so much used' characters finally got good teams. For me personally, I was happiest when I could use the best husband Thoma and do good dmg. This also applies to characters like Keqing and Kuki.
i felt really happy for thoma and kuki, their value really rose so high because of Sumeru.

I avoided burgeon for a loong time, wanted to try it out with dehya but... yeah. Now, in patch 3.7, I'm finally building thoma
Personally I found Kaveh’s self-healing to be fairly relevant and most appealing part of his kit. Bloom teams have an issue of killing you just as well as killing enemies, and Kaveh is a fairly comfortable option for such teams.
Its just like Nilou scaling off HP- bloom requires survivability
Kirara is very complete in keqing aggravate. Shield is great , rotation is smooth and the quicken aura does not disappear
Also with Yae. He kinda under rated Kirara ngl.

Dehya is the Character I was really looking forward when I was starting the Sumeru Cycle. And I was really hoping she was Xiangling levelm but I hate what they did to her..
I started playing on her banner and I don't have much feelings about her design. After completing the whole archon quest and her story quest, and she's one of the best character ever! It's sad to see her like this
The first time I saw her design I literally fell in love
but her kit was done so dirty 😭😞
Over all, the kit itself is solid. The biggest issue is her numbers.
Im quite certain that the Hydro Arcon set will be defining for HP scalers, Candace, Dehya, Layla, all have great potencial if a set comes to make HP as a DMG%. All Arcon sets are defining(Except Zhongli), VV, Raidens, Memory, just waiting for this characters to shine.
For one I hope so, but if its just hp scaling to some sort of damage increase for the wearer... we already have way too strong characters that will just get stronger with that. We need more support sets to at least steer this characters into something useful. Dehya set is a joke as it is, but if the set increases the damage OTHER characters do when she is "bleeding" it would be great. My hopium is that the hydro archon will take hp away from the team and use more hp to sustain a kind of buff, helping Dehya in the way.
@@MCHR92 I though of that too but Nilou's dmg is actually reaction not %, the only other hp scaling that i can think would do better dmg is kokomi but shes not really for dmg haha
@@opera4591 I was thinking more about Hutao and Yelan that do scale with % damage and want to stack a lot of hp.
Nilou damage increase is split between EM on trigger and HP on her, a damage increase on her will not affect the max damage posible even if it was not reaction damage.
no matter what happens i dont think it will impact that much for hp scaling cuz yelan and hu tao exists cuz u know what will happen if yelan and hu tao gets even more buff than it already got

The only way to make Dehya viable is to create a support set that gives a massive buff whenever the user takes damage.
She already has her best dps set which is emblem and still sucks

Both Zhongli and Fischl work but they’re not designed around it. Rosaria and Razor fit but they’re 4 stars. Scaramouche, Ayato, or Yoimiya benefit from ATK SPD but they’re not phys.
Like the character concept is right there. Idk maybe something like a tall fast attacking 5star cryo polearm from Fontaine could be pretty neat just saying

Kaveh was my favorite character in the sumeru arc and I never get tired of playing him in his niche shatterbloom team
Personally, I love Layla a lot. Her shield has permanent uptime if you can switch to her after it ends and if you use her on a quick swap team where everyone can use their skills in quick succession with low cooldown, she becomes a pretty good Cryo Battery. Though I agree she can be very niche
Mihoyo also give her twice in event
and the shield is actually pretty strong, atleast with a few constellations
Yes i love Layla, i play her with kokomi kazuha and nahida, the game is so enjoyable bc i just perma freeze + group and layla stars do aoe dammage
Don’t know why HYV tried to make Dehya yet another Pyro DPS. We have too many as-is. The defensive part of her kit is what makes her unique. So a lot of the actual design seems baffling, on top of the bugs it caused. As the sole Pyro in this run, she should have had Burning and Burgeon support.
The thing is, she could've been like Yelan, despite building Hp, Yelan does insane amounts of damage and gives it to her team. From the leaks, i expected Dehya to do the inverse, she was to be the first "Revenge" character, as in she delivers the damage she received back multiplied. However, not only did Hoyoverse completely fumble her stat scaling, but made the "revenge" part of her kit completely useless. They had the perfect setup, ally takes damage, part of it is delivered to Dehya, with enough damage soaked up, amp her Burst in proportion to damage stored, simple as that. But no, her damage storage does literally nothing, you just take damage for the sake of taking damage.
She'd still fulfill her tank purpose, but be able to dish good damage when needed, she would fit in the role of a quickswap burst dps.
That's the thing... compared to all characters, Dehya is the only one who's role is undefined.
Dehya has a lot to offer but that's also the cause of her own downfall. She has so many things going on that the devs struggled to balance her out.
This kinda made me remember a school of thought in my design class where less is actually more.
Prime example of the most popular character in abyss runs is Xiangling. You just drop gouba and her pyro-nado and swap out. Simple but its the most versatile kit in genshin yet.
I guess they didn't test out dehya kit as much as nahida skill. She had so much potential
she is not Pyro dps. her kit is or at least intended to be defence one. Her burst is actually the sht one. If she could have all her dmg multipliers in one giant punch that can be vaped with short animation she would become 3 times better. Her E duration should be on increased on ascension - she is then 5 times better :)
@@ixirion, instead of a larger multiplier, it could have gotten a medium base multiplier, then the multiplier gets enhanced by the amount of damage she resolved (ie the Burst becomes a revenge strike). Or add team healing per punch, with a Healing Bonus that scales off her resolved damage.
One thing that differentiate Candace from Yun Jin in terms of NA boost is tbat the former focuses on multiple enemies while the latter only single. Of course Yun Jin's buff is higher in numbers, but its limited in 30 attacks.
For example, if you use Ayato's slash on 5 enemies, Yun Jin's buff can only buff NA atk until 6th slash, but Candace can do it all the way until Ayato's skill is over. Candace's value goes higher the more the enemies are hit in single NA atk

Well its pure copium but I like Candace because she can turn any melee character into a carry in a hyperbloom team. She just hydro-infuse their attacks, seeds appear and suddenly your overworld gameplay is great fun.
Now for meta...well, who cares?
Candace's buff is too small to count as a buff, all NA dps characters stack so much %dmg from their own kit (goblet, artifact set, weapon, innate NA passives), that additional %dmg from sources like Candace barely adds anything. In fact for a proper buff you'd prefer someone like Mika (as speed is on a different scalar).
@@whisperwalkful 40% dmg bonus isn't something to scoff at.
@@salceds 40% dmg bonus looks a lot less when NA scalers start at 200% to 300% bonus dmg, so YES, it ISSSS to be scoffed at.
For example candace with 40k hp is only around ~2k dmg per NA for yoimiya when yunjin adds 10k.
Show me a case where there's 5 enemies at the same time
Baizhu was exactly what I was missing for my keqing aggravate team and I didn't even know that until I got him by accident
The healing + shield and dmg boost was everthing I needed from a healer for that team
I just use Yaoyao for my Keqing aggravate team, dem man this team is one of the faster team I have that can clear 1st half Floor 12

I just wanna say it's refreshing to see someone who makes guides and actually also talks about the characters in a story context! I feel like most content creators don't really care much about it and more about mechanics, which is fine, but again it's really nice and refreshing! :D
Also, Baizhu is just overall better than Yaoyao for me, more comfortable, plus the buffing.
Great analysis of the Sumeru roster. My favorites have been Nahida (obviously; she's a powerhouse), Yao Yao (best 4-star we've had in a good while) and Alhaitham (super solid and fun carry). A lot of the Sumeru roster was quite lacking though; just either incredibly niche or extremely underwhelming and disappointing. Hoping for some good characters in Fontaine...
I pulled Tighnari on his debut. It was worth it. He is my new comfort character next to Kazuha. I just recently got his C1 and i am so happy. 😊
Another good point about Candace : her 15 seconds cooldown lines up really well with Kuki's, allowing really smooth rotations. Because of that, Candace/Kuki is my favorite hyperbloom variant.
And when you optimise team / rotation / attack pattern, Candace's hydro application is actually great : equal if not better than Xingqiu's (at equal constellations).
Will c6 candace trump over c6 xinqui?

Nilou, Nahida and Tighnari are all very "fun" characters to play while also being very good. Anytime I run around the map I use Zhongli - (Yae or Nahida) - Fischl - Tighnari because it's the most fun comp for me to play.
My favorites are Alhaitham, Nahida and Yaoyao. Exactly in that order. I even play the three of them together on a team every now and then when it's not the abyss.
Alhaitham's rain swords are so satisfying.
I pulled him C2 at its release and now during his rerun I C6 him 💚🌱

The only issue I have with Dori is her burst cooldown being so long. She can heal, give energy to the active character, and have a good electro application that tracks enemies in her burst on C2. I prefer her over Shinobu (which I do not have) simply cuz Im not a fan of HP consumption mechanic.

Kuki's Hp consumption is barely ever a problem if you are quick with her but Dori is more comfortable. I built both and switch them up, Kuki still better though.
Her HP consumption will be great with furina or nahida, but in a team without them she is good!
i was fortunate to get c6 Layla from my scary grinding session of patch 3.6 to get both Nahida and Nilou (which I did but I rushed through the main story for primos and speedran quests which I regret) And I will say that c6 Layla is such a solid support for an Ayaka freeze, or a wanderer team! she is amazing and her design is so dreamy I love it!
I unfortunately also got c6 Dori and I cannot say the same for her, unfortunately... idk what hoyoverse was thinking
If we rate by Gameplay on how good they are Nahida and Alhathium rain supreme. Yao Yao and Nilou at pretty good as well. However, is only op in certain team comps.
I use yaoyao, nahida, yelan and nilou bloom team and they are so powerful, I can just tank everything with yaoyao during her burst state, and I use baizhu on the other side. God I love baizhu and yaoyao, absolutely cracked healers👌
Alhaitham was worth it. Im just a casual (ish) player and alhaitham was the first one i truly build. Initially because i realised he makes me struggle less with enemies, and how fun his playstyle is
The biggest thing that Baizhu has over yao yao for me is the teamwide heal and the fact that he doesn't have to be on field for his burst. (Also he's better for Cyno the Goat)

i want to add that kirara is a blessing. Spiral Abyss was *hard*, but I have less, almost zero anxiety having her + cons. easy build, very nice compatibility with aggravate and especially nilou team. I have a blast speedrunning abyss with just nilou/kirara/barbara
I unfortunately did not get Kiara and as someone who explores a lot this is a tragedy, however as for my thoughts on this cycle, it’s my first full cycle experienced first hand and it had its ups and downs, I have Nahida, and Alhaitham, and there great, I did get a standard banner dehya drop and funny enough she’s part of my new primary exploration team (with Nahida ganyu and sayu ), im exited for fontaine, there’s a small checklist I have for it, claymore hydro, cryo catalyst, new playstyles, other than that who’s ready for hydro carry hydro mc? With Candice?
For me, the best character from Sumeru is... Layla! I haven't expected much from her, but right now, she is the most used character in my teams, beating even Nahida. She also has this nice bonus for my Gun Yuu being the cryo resonance on top of being superior shielder for her. Yes, Zhong Lee will outperform her of course, but come on, she is a 4-star unit, and he is a goddamn archon! Still, she gets pretty close, with the nice cryo resonance bonus.
i love playing layla with ganyu too. she virtually never leaves my abyss teams these days
Too based brother.. but ye, from an acc. that have mostly pull only for females, Layla is a blessing, coz I can't put myself of having Diona just constantly joined with Yoi, and I have strong dedication to just do that until someone deserving like Kazuha, just by then to support my electro team comps honorable mention: Kirara and Dehya. Happy to wc more tho..
So for the second dendro driver team, who would you recommend between yaoyao (c6) or kaveh? I'm trying to get c0 alhaitam but he does not seem to want to come home... 😅
I'd recommend to use them both. Kaveh is a good dendro driver but just like Alhaitham he needs a second dendro character for his team. So is you use Dendro mc in other team or don't have Nahida just go with them together. She can heal and shred dendro resistance with deepwood memories for Kaveh
Now I kinda want to know about your opinions on Inazuman (or 1.x chars) AFTER Dendro, because some characters like Kuki got greatly buffed by Dendro reactions.
Raiden, Kokomi, Yae, Yelan (even more) and the most impressive was Thoma despite pyro not getting much at all from dendro he found usefulness in his "bad" pyro application and Kitain spear weird synergy. And anemo characters got at least something out of it since they already want EM in their stats.
Now geo ones .... absolutely NOTHING changed lol.
The relevant characters got massive buffs. Raiden Hyperbloom, Yae is now an actually good unit to have with Aggravate, Kokomi is absurdly broken on bloom and hyper teams, Ayato has a solid base to stand on as a hydro applier and the biggest comeback of all with Thoma Burgeon lmao.

@@kison7715 tc knew kuki would shine with dendro but not Thoma, so Thoma had impressive comeback compared to shinobu
The biggest winner among the 1.X character is Keqing. Aggrevate resuscitated her. Inazuma is Yae, Kuki and Komi.

Getting Nilou and Nahida was so worth it, because investing in Nahida is just direct profit, your numbers scale A LOT with talents and levels.
And Nilou is just the best. With half decent artifacts and no talents leveled up the game is already a cake walk. I remember I was really sad when I got her because she sucked.
But then I got Yaoyao, and I realized I just needed dendro application, with that off the road Nilou became a completely different character
Sumeru is where we got used to niche characters that can perform well but only in certain circumstances, I don't mean it is bad tho, it prevents powercreep, but some of our fav characters deserved better..
I remember people on the leaks subreddit "doomposting" that dehya will be "nilou for burning/burgeon", in hindsight, god I wish that was true lol, especially since I loved the idea behind nilou's kit from the beginning and still find her very satisfying to use (and people disliked it because of the restrictions).
I was lucky enough to get c5 Faruzan on Wanderers banner. I got c6 recently from the one event

Not having a character buffing system in Genshin is probably one of the stupidest mistakes Hoyoverse ever made. I know they did it once with Zhongli and they tried it again with Yae which failed miserably, but I kinda wish there is a dedicated system where older/weaker characters can get buffed. Maybe upon reaching Friendship 10, these weaker characters have a story quest unlocked that will buff their kit (something like an interlude in FGO). They can also make it a big deal and rerun the characters receiving a buff that patch or something.
Idk man its just sad to know that if a character is weak on release, they will be weak indefinitely. I don't even own a Dehya and I am mad. LMAO

Something I can say on looking back on Wanderer and Faruzan (as I have them both at C6) is that oh my god... I would not want to go back to playing either him or Faru at C0 - the rotations are very, very short that way, I did not have fun in the forced C0 Scara Faruzan team givn in the current event.
Having used him in both freeze variation or pyro/hydro variant in every single abyss ever since they came out I've noticed that if you invest into him a lot he can become a beast that's very comfortable to play on mobile.
Cyno is my most favourite out of the 3.0 era characters. I mean yea, we have nahida, al haitham, nilou but cyno is just something valuable to me. Gameplay wise, hes amazing, in my old acc, i have both cyno and shogun and fot some reason, my cyno does better, ik, unbelievable but im sorry, i followed what zyox told me. Character wise, it's so my dad, a joker, card game enthusiast and a fun guy but if you mess with him, theyre not to be messed with, my dad literally kicked a jerk in my grandmas funeral, it may not be the hest time but the jerk is out of this world, in a bad way of course. Anyways, cyno will always be my favourite
Alhaitham was my first Dendro character and he quickly became one of my favorite and most used teams, at first I thought that maybe I would regret pulling for him because tbh I only pulled because he’s hot lol, but now I’m basically an Alhaitham + Xiao main :)
I know the feeling. I was lucky to get him in the last 24 hours in his first banner and then I got lucky during his rerun. This man is too hot not to get. Plus if you have Nahida in your party he'll definitely be buffed
I currently main Nilou bloom team I even got all platinum in the recent domain event thanks to her
I love Dori. Shes just so much fun to witness and easy to use.
I prefer her over Kuki simply because of Kuki HP consumption mechanic. Not a fan.
@@SilverDroid14 I didnt even think abt that yh. And online coop is hard with Kuki too since the others need to be in range.
I mean I do know that from meta perspective Kuki might be the call, but Dori isnt unplayable.

Watching this video made me realize the "upside" of Nilou's restrictions. Many of the weaker hydro/dendro characters have found a niche, by being a solid choice for Nilou bloom. There are better choices than them, but those are very desirable characters, that may be more important in the second team.
Dehya play really well in Burgeon+Hyper bloom team, but need a lot of investment into her. It took months for me to get good artifacts with C2 and her greatsword to make her feel great to use. but sometimes need to change to reskill greatsword to make her support better in some dungeon or teams.
One of my favorite team comps tends from mostly Sumeru characters tends to be to be Wanderer, Faruzan, Yelan, and Layla.
The new 5 stars I've pulled since 3.0
- Nahida (unsurprising amazing in every dendro reaction team I put her in)
- Wanderer(only used in the open world due lack of damage output without C4 or higher Faruzan, might get to c4 Jean first lol)
- Alhaitham (pulled this banner but am very keen to run alongside Nilou and Nahida)
- Nilou very consistent high AOE damage output (the only team I've been able to clear the current chamber 3 phase 1 quickly enough for a 3 star)
(more DPS than, mono cryo, mono geo and Raiden national and international)
The Reruns I've pulled
- Ayato (Great versatility and I currently run him in my Nilou teams when XQ is on the other side)
- Yelan (Maximum power for double hydro Hutao)
- Ayaka (bit of a trap and benched I think Ganyu's kit has aged better)
- Yae Miko built but currently benched until I have my Alhaitham fully built (really keen to try her in Spread and Hyperbloom)
(If you're wondering I'm a Welkin, Battlepass player and my 50/50's have been very kind lately won 5 in a row so for the last 5 patches I've been able to snag a new 5 star unit. Even Ayaka come home in just 10 pulls from 0 pity)

Out of all the 4 stars Layla has seen the most consistent use followed by Yao Yao and in MO the two best and most rounded 4 star units 3.* has to offer
Kirara was the puzzle piece i needed for Nilou bloom team, with kirara, her team feels so solid, tho the fact that you have ayato which i know is prolly great for Nilou teams prolly says alot. But she's such a good shielder for Nilou Bloom. Also i did the same thing with Kaveh, pulled, built and then benched ahah
For me, the only sumeru patch character i didnt pull for was Baizhu + Kaveh, Cyno and Dehya. Dehya for obvious reasons, Baizhu coz why when yaoyao exists thus also affects kaveh and as for Cyno, well for Aggravate i prefer Keqing or even onfielding my Yae and as for Hyperbloom, i would rather have alhaitham/nahida be the driver.
Now i do get ur qualms about Ayaka but for me, I used her on the 2nd side. And the team i used was Ayaka (C4 with Mist), Hutao (C0 with Homa), Kazuha (C0 with Xiphos) and Bennett (C6 with Haran) and Nuking the manifestation and bishop while having no problem with hydro lector (coz ayaya) and cryo lector (coz hutao kazuha and bennett).
Tho for first half, its hard to find a team faster than Nilou bloom teams (As both my Nilou and Nahida are C2 and have their sig weapons). Tho for that team, I like having Alhaitham as driver but there are times wherein i love it when i change him to kirara for comfort
Yaoyao is far from being defining, she is pretty much same tier as Baizhu for poor people.
Yaoyao haver here at c5, immediately got benched after i got baizhu, i found him to be a more comfortable pick in my spread/aggrevate teams where there is a dps who needs field time. Yao yao is only getting "reputation" because some keep talking about her dendro application (Which imo is still lackluster), and even with that argument against Baizhu, i still successfully used him in an aggrevate team and he did enough dendro application to trigger quicken. I think the usage rate say everything in 3.7. Many Baizhu havers who actually used him realized how heplful he is, only those who don't are still kept in the dark.
Baizhu has his own issues, but so does Yaoyao, and to me, Baizhu was an upgrade over her, I bet this feeling is mutual for many baizhu havers, hence his high usage rate.
One thing I notice about Mika is that, at C2, he's a good healer and just another niche NA buffer but for Physical, so he's like Physical Candace who only buffs Elemental ones. I get that people don't like him for not being able to buff Eula's burst but honestly her burst already deals more than enough damage, he just makes her NAs shine more, and I don't know about you guys but I like doing Eula NA's.
Tbh i was kinda disappointed with baizhu and regret pulling him, but after i played co op using him, that regret kinda disappeared abit because co op team mate sometimes too quirky and cannot stay near the healer. Baizhu can heal ur co op teammate wherever they are 😂
Can kirara work in alhaitham quickbloom with XQ and kuki ?
Baizou or nahida would be better, but why not? Just give her the dendro res shred set if alhaitham doesn't have it.
Delay could have dealt damage that was increased based on the amount of damage she absorbs through getting hit directly and through the totem.
if i get wanderer nwhen he comes nexst banner , imma defenatly make a exploration team with characters whos skill allow for good exploration , I already got albedo so if i get wanderer i can just place the flower switch to wanderer and when it elevates me up i can use wanderers skill to emediatly have some high ground without having to have wasted fly stamina

Same reason Baizhu and Yaoyao are also here, "Sumeru characters" in that they became available after the Sumeru region first released and before the upcoming Fontaine region will released, and not that they actually belong in Sumeru.

I think Dehya will shine if there will be a character or an artifact set that buffs damage taken converting it into increasing damage dealt like how Beidou's E but without the shield and idle. Or like an opposite of Ocean-Hued Clam artifact that deals damage depends on characters' damage taken or over-damage taken.

Agreed. Sayu still goes faster, and there's no inherent advantage to using Kirara for climbing since it can be clunky anyway. The only character that makes climbing easier is Kazuha. Wanderer outright skips climbing but I guess he counts?

@@escapetherace1943 Yelan was the one that actually got kicked out of my exploration team, where Sayu can't pass neither will Yelan, Sayu can heal, break stones, make crystal flies easier to gather, half anemo resonance and staminaless traversal. With Wanderer that also doesn't consume stamina and can cross difficult terrain, the anemo resonance is complete and you get a dps out of it. Add Kirara that offers verticality and dominates every terrain that Sayu and Yelan struggle with and a much needed shield for Wanderer's paper thin poise (can also hunt meat stuff but I have too much in the inventory to be relevant). 4th slots goes to a permanent speed booster or exploration perks like Klee, Tighnari, Gorou etc or a sub dps that doesn't require burst to do its stuff.
Yelan only advantage is a slightly faster skill, if you are actually using her constantly for movement, C1 is not really an improvement since the cd is the same, and using her skill for movement also means you sometimes will not have it to clear an enemy fast, so you need to have her burst up.
I really really want Nilou coz I'm very interested in her mechanics. I didn't get her at her debut banner coz I'm saving my guarantee to Nahida. On her rerun I lost 50/50😢.

I actually replaced Tighnari in my main team, which has Yae Raiden and Kokomi with Kirara mainly because Tighnari kept getting taken out.
I feel like when you have so much character (i.e. veteran players) or u just want to enjoy a chill life get characters life baizhu, he is not a must pull but he is the most comfortable healer to use cuz his e proc ridiculous group healing and his ult gives more healing and resistance interruption while being off field (plus it can proc dendro shred) unlike yaoyao where i have to keep watch the enemy for dendro shred and have to interrupt alhaitham attack chain to top up
I would say this sounded a lot like the end of inazuma chapter tier lists. The later releases: kokomi, thoma, kuki seemed underwhelming and later they became super relevant so those underwhelming sumeru characters might be set up for Fontaine transition. 🎉🎉

I hope fontaine gives me a break from pulling, like in inazuma everyone was so easy to skip except kazuha ayato and itto i could go for sig weapons too thanks to all the saving i did, but sumeru left me dry af, first tighnari, then cyno, scaramuche alhaitham and baizhu and kaveh c6, i miss having wishes on my acct lmao, lucky for me it looks like fontaine will be like inazuma with a bunch of mediocre characters except for wriothesly and neuvillete and maybe the male twin, but since its only 2 characters that look worth it and maybe the twin i feel i can start saving again
I use Layla and Faruzan(c2) with my Wanderer and honestly it plays very good.
My baizhu is fun to use as well. He heals chunkily. Mine is on c2, healing 12k for one E (4 pc clam). So he really is a bit of a hybrid giving out like 20k dmg every bubble pop. Hes fun for me to use

I like Deyha. Bear in mind I have her at C2 where both her first two constellations fix a lot of her problems (a growing trend with Hoyo, please pay money).
But I slapped her with all EM Crimson Witch, team her up with a C2 Nahida and a recently C3 Yae Miko. Shield up with my Zhongli and be what I like to call passive playing. lol
Her burning ticks for around ~2400-2600 and crit for ~4699-4800 and it just constantly burning, add Yaes totems and the fact I shield so I ignored all damage. It's right now my best passive play team. lol Though I think if they release another character with totems like Yaes but another element it'll probably work better, like a water character for hyperbloom.
BUT, that's me ignoring her ultimate and damage mitigation completely so I'm using like a 1/3 of her. lol
Wanderer, Kaveh and Tighnari were best pulls from Sumeru. I also got Ganyu and I'm waiting for Ayato rerun in the future. I thought Dehya would have been the Diluc 2.0 but turned out to being the Vista release! Disappointing!
Lets be honest, Dendro Trav is good because Dendro was newly introduced, but im PRETTY CERTAIN that all elements afterwards will be the same level as anemo, geo, and electro
As an endgame player who basically quit genshin after Sumeru came out for various reasons and am now planning to pick it back up, thank you for this video, it was really helpful as I didn't even know most characters names lol
I used Dori as my Eula team healer and electro applicator before I had Raiden. Then she was just a healer and battery. Now she's going to be replaced by Mika once I feel like pulling him.
Also with nahida vs Alhaitham, I usually have one on each side of abyss with Beidou, nahida, yae, kok or Alhaitham, xinqui, yelan, kuki. Or put them on the same team and melt everything
I know I ditched C6 Mika on my Eula teams because he just doesnt provide enough energy compared to Diona and Eula is one of the most energy hungry characters out there. He needed to give more ASPD because the thing is, although Eula's NA are "slow" even if she is faster than most other claymore users and her burst, which is the majority of her damage, scales off of the number of times you hit an NA. That and the buff really really needed to snap shot.
I dont think you would even have to change Dehya's power scaling on her attacks if you instead gave her better or more frequent elemental applications on her field effect and let her be a staple of reverse or forward melt.
I know when I first saw her my first thought was to use Ayaka's burst with her punches followed behind or Ganyu to spamming arrows in her field.
Collei is definitely underrated since she ain't the strongest or more useful dendro character but after having her C4 on my alt I really want to build my Collei.
Dehya definitely needs a rework or just better team mates for her.
Collei is worth building 100%! Sac bow is lots of fun for her as mentioned.

my favorite one was defenitely scara bc I started playing the game for him back in may 2022 and, for me, the wait was totally worth it! he's fun to play with, explore with and made abyss easier for me (even gor him c6 faruzan) and his design is beautiful. I got nahida bc of her utility but she's not my favorite archon tbh, and a couple of days ago I finally got alhaitham who is one of my favorite characters too, been wanting him since he got leaked and he's wayyy too fun to play with and he's pretty good even with his poor ass stats.
its not that claymores have the slowest attack speed that reduces mikas value, its that along with hitlag which dramatically reduces the effect of attack speed boosts... for example 20% attack speed boost would not translate to 20% extra hits because of the few frames of lag you get when your character hits an opponent or shield.

honestly i keep hearing things abt how bad energy is on faruzan but i still grt her burst eveyr rotation with fav bow and 198 er, i still have a 68:137 ratio for some nice burst dmg too

kirara is quite good for hutao shielder. it gives a nice burst aoe burgion damage. Also since hutao benefits EM sands with yelan x quinqu
One thing I noticed about the 3.x patches is that we got A LOT of defensive units. Dori, Layla, Yaoyao, Baizhu, Kirara, and to some extent, Mika and Dehya. 6 out of 16(?) characters have defensive utilities. In comparison, 2.x only have 4 (Kokomi, Kuki, Thoma, Sayu). Also I noticed a lack of non-reaction off-field dps. Only Nahida fits the bill which makes me sad since they're usually my favorite archetypes. The biggest winner of Dendro era tho is definitely Kuki Shinobu. She went from zero to hero, and I'm so happy and proud of her! I love her so much heart.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Yaoyao is supposed to be one tier higher than Baizhu. If you look at it objectively, Baizhu is better than Yaoyao in *every* aspect they do.
That speaks volumes especially when you see that Baizhu's usage rate on this abyss is 48% when Yaoyao is at a surprising 8%, when supposedly there should be more Yaoyaos on most Genshin players' accounts.
Baizhu has:
- Party wide, High burst healing on E every 10s (CD)
- Consistent Off-field Dendro Applicator (burst doesn't suffer from ICD)
- Provides resistance to interruption with pseudo shield
- Barely consumes any field time
- Buffs ALL Dendro related reactions
- A catalyst, potential on-field dendro driver
~ High cost burst
~ Energy recharge dependent
Yaoyao:
- Single target, periodic healing on E every 14s
- Good, but questionable Dendro application especially on E (healing and Dendro application share the same projectile)
- High burst healing and good Dendro application from Q
~ Consumes on-field time
~ Without Q, characters off-field need to be on-field to be healed, that risks their hp dropping to zero
~ Doesn't provide buffing on skills/stat
Yeah, I am aware that Baizhu is a 5*, so why wish for him right? If you think that way, you haven't acknowledged yet how much benefits Baizhu provides than Yaoyao. It's just that you are not actively using Dendro teams, or you just don't want to spend for another support, which happened with other 5* supports like Kokomi at initial release. Baizhu will age well, and soon players will eventually like the idea of getting him just like some other supports out there.
Yaoyao is massively overrated primarily because of Zajef basically, everyone that has both just knows Baizhu is a straight-up upgrade.

that's why it's low because a lot of players have yaoyao so it's low... the percentage rate is not based on the number of players/account of the game but based on the number who owns that character that uses it on abyss
like let's say that since baizhu is 5 star so yaoyao is almost in any account..
let's say that there are 50 players in the game
48 people own yaoyao
20 people own baizhu
but
from the 48 people who owned yaoyao 18 of them use her in abyss
while the 20 people who own baizhu 15 people use him in abyss so that's why yaoyao is low
*let's just say that the player who owns that character is still not upgraded for them to use in abyss*
yaoyao has 37.5% usage rate
baizhu has 75% usage rate
so we couldn't say that even tho baizhu has a high usage rate it's just we don't know how many players use her
