Sir, I take off my hat. This is one of the most in-depth analysis I've ever heard on this song. I have listened to it hundreds of times and today I have learned new things. Thanks for all this amount of information. You are right. In this band the result is much greater than the sum of its parts. Their sense of purpose is something very notorious, they are musicians humble enough not to try to stand out if it is not for the benefit of the song, and at the same time they are very tenacious workers with an almost fierce determination to conquer the world. For me they are an ethical inspiration. They play ALL kinds of music rock; pop, soft, hard, metal, funk, prog or jazz (sometimes in the same song). Their last album, Unseen World has been released in January and its a monument of songwriting.

If B-M were one entity they'd be a banana eating, whiskey drinking small pigeon who moonlights as an assassin & would look down at your shredded body with a icy stare.
Thanks for the analysis! Don't worry about talking a lot - it's very interesting hearing the songs and playing getting broken down and given context. I also enjoy hearing about the music theory components. One of the strengths of Band Maid I believe, is that they pull in influences from multiple genres and play around with their sound so that they don't get stale or too predictable. It's also great to see how some of the effects in the music are made. Thanks for demonstrating. I've read that when Kanami writes the music for their songs, she works really hard to ensure that all the band members have their moments in the sun. Maybe not in every song, but overall they all get to be appreciated. As far as Onset goes, it is also sometimes known as Saiki's (lead vocals) pee break. Since you select future songs based on the number of appearances in the comments, let me suggests Play and Different as two interesting future choices for you.
Thanks bud, I just get excited by nerdy music theory and know I can go on a bit, haha! Cool, glad I could shed some light on the little bits of magic they sprinkle over their music, and totally gotta work a pee break in to the set for sure 🤣 Awesome, will add those to the list!
Man I love hearing someone who knows what they are talking about break down this band. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to the next one. Which I think should be Moratorium (live).
Thanks Matt, I could have talked for about 5 hours on all the stuff going on here, barely even touched on the drum beats or bass lines! Duly noted! Will add Moratorium to the list 🎶
Another one already, wow! Thanks for getting back to them so quickly. As a non-musician I found the insight into how she plays the delay part very interesting. It sounded so different without the subtle difference in playing you showed. Really appreciate the effort you put into these.
Many thanks dude! I really enjoyed Domination and this song as well, so I'm pretty keen to listen to their stuff! Totally, delay really adds an extra layer of awesomeness to guitar parts 🎶
@@JbfMusicGuitar Can i add to what Tiny Hat said by saying when you slowed down the tapping parts it showed how certain guitar parts that sound really complicated to play when you hear them fast aren't as difficult as they seem if you know the technique. Cool breakdown.👍
@@JbfMusicGuitar Oh I didn't just mean the deal, I was referring to how you mentioned playing staccato with the left hand. That's the kind of detail no other channel provides, even the very good ones.
Damn, lots of info here. Never too old to learn. Thanks for all this teaching and enlightenment! And for loving Band-Maid, of course. Ritchie Blackmore is my all-time favorite from the 60s-90s. I can't play guitar but Kanami blows my mind also. I think Deep Purple left some DNA there when they played in Japan in 1972. That live album is awesome. Thanks again for all this content!

I dont care which song next, everything is awesome from Band-Maid. Very gifted band, with a lot of heart, soul, talent and A LOT of work. Nice to see how it works on a guitar, even though i dont play a guitar, still i am always open to learn something, especially about Band-Maid! Greetings from Germany
Thanks for this. Most Band Maid fans including myself really enjoy someone who has musical experience critique the band. So many musicians, music teachers and people who work in the business have reacted to BM and been blown away by their ability. Helps to reaffirm that which we fans already know. This is a GREAT BAND.
Nice catch on the idea of introducing a motif and re-purposing. Check out their MV for Blooming for some sheer genius in terms of interwoven motifs. The guitar solo part of that song, all the way through to the end is fantastic songwriting and you should take notice of the motif ideas during that section.
Nice analysis! If you want some old school 70's, 80's rock from BAND-MAID, try Manners or The Dragon Cries or Chemical Reaction. BAND-MAID is the one that i don't want to get a divorce.
Love the break down and info! Without Holding Back is another fantastic instrumental song from the Maid's! Would love to see you break down Kanami's and Miku's guitar style! Misa is so good on that bass, my favorite bass player, ever! I love how flawlessly she switches from picking to slapping, then back to picking! Real skill and precision required to pull that off! More Band Maid, please!
Thanks Wayne! I'm pretty keen to check out more of their stuff, so I'm sure that'll be on the cards, also cheers for that suggestion, it'll go on my ever growing list 🤘

Love your analysis. The song "play" was their previous signature instrumental (it's a break for Saiki during the 2 hour sets) but it got lyrics added afterward. I'd love to see your take on that as well.

Another fantastic video! So much info and so many details, great job once again! 😀 The musicianship of this band really shines Live! Thanks Jbf, really enjoyed it!
@@JbfMusicGuitar Because you mention Beethoven, are you a fan of classical music? If yes than i would like to change my Lovebites suggestion to the song "Edge of the World" Live 2020! I really enjoy that you go into detail, dont ever change! I play drums but never had musical training so videos like these are a great way to learn some more!
@@JFrancoDrums There are some wonderful classical music pieces, but it's not something I listen to regularly. I did probably overdue on Yngwie Malmsteen in my teens, so I'm always up for a bit of neo-classical hard rock! Cheers, will make a note of that song 🤘
Band-Maid always brings an Onset of love, appreciation and happiness to their viewers. Why? 'Cause they're so damn good - good-natured, good-hearted, good-looking ;-) and beyond good writers, players and performers. Wow, right?!
My musical heroes have been and always will be RUSH yet those young ladies have stolen my heart. Since Rush called it a career: Band-Maid has become the band that give me joy, thrill, enthusiasm, excitement in awaiting for new material. In that regard their latest album 'Unseen World' was a blast to discover... We are very close to a masterpiece!! And the best thing is that we are only scratching the surface of their greatness.
Thanks again for reacting to BAND-MAID. Your videos are exactly what I like to see and hear from a reactor. If all I wanted to see was someone jumping up and down, saying WOW that's cool, I would look at myself in the mirror ( and see my dad acting like a fool 👴 ). Hearing what someone that knows what's actually happening is great. 🔥🤘🥁🎸🎌 If he gets any more attention, TH's head won't fit into his Tiny Hat 👒 much longer. Now let's eat some 🍰🧁🎂 and have some fun.
What a cheek. The least Tiny Hat could do is turn up to his own shout out. Unless he's jumping up & down in front of a mirror. In his special room with wall to ceiling mirrors :)
Thank you! Please do BLOOMING or YOLO (no live versions officially uploaded to RUclips). 2 wonderful songs that are criminally underwatched simply because they keep churning out great new songs at a crazy rate and RUclips’s algorithm favors most recent videos or total views (their oldest MVs). Edit: If someone could point you to the live version of BLOOMING from Feb14, 2020 (from their concert DVD/BluRay) with its little extra drum intro, that would hopefully be sweet for your own enjoyment.
Kanami, lead, taught Miku to play guitar from scratch so clearly her parts are exactly what Kanami would play herself and it works very well. They are not quite like other bands, they are all superb musicians but egos are absent so everyone gets a moment in the spotlight.
I don't comment on Yt videos normally but hats off to you mate for sharing your musical knowledge. Very informative and exciting reaction. Thank you mate ,looking forward to next one. You don't often hear a reference to Beethoven in Band-Maid video reviews! I'll take it! By the way, if you ever pay attention to their equipment, you might notice the little sideways nod to Scotland sitting atop Misa's amplifier head (her legendary flask of whiskey). Also, your demonstrations just make me admire Kanami's playing and writing even more.
Haha, cheers dude- hadn't noticed her hip flask, brilliant! Wasn't a fan of whisky for the longest time, but really got in to them over the past few years, my heritage finally coming through lol! Awesome. There were some killer riffs and leads in this for sure; still have that main kinda post rock theme lodged in my brain 🤘
@@JbfMusicGuitar Some people can't be taught. Jim Beam is rotten stuff!😫 It took me about 20 years for my Scottish heritage to kick in but now it's Laphroaig for the win!😁
at one point you highlighted the fact that they went back into a section and changed things up a bit. This is one thing i absolutely love about Band-Maid that few people seem to consciously pick up on - and you'll see it again and again as you hear more of their music. Many bands will do the verse/chorus/verse/chorus structure but there will be no variation, it's a straight repeat. Band-Maid (especially once they started writing all their own material) makes every verse feel fresh, whether MISA is changing up the bassline or Akane switches up the drum beat or Saiki and Miku switch lead vocal, etc. It keeps you engaged through the whole song. They really just have such a wonderful handle on songwriting, structure, and melody that is lost in so much western rock since the 90s really.
Sometimes it seems like the main function of a producer for lesser bands is to add tracks to successive verses/choruses to give a feeling of progression. Kanami-sensei's songs don't need it, though she's also smart enough not to rule out an addition that makes the song better.
Look forward to hearing more of that kind of thing Nick! It's the sort of thing bands will sometimes do in the studio (often by the producers request) to give a bit more of a sense of progression, cool that these guys do it live as well 🤘
The best example I can think of this, Nick, is Honkai. 2 different verses arranged 4 different ways. 2 different bridges with a godly vocal transition on the second one. A guitar solo. A bass solo. And a killer riff to boot.🥰
One thing I liked about this song is that it follows the same structure as a normal song with the verse (delay part) into the chorus (tapping part) back into the verse, chorus, solo, chorus. So even if you don't listen to a lot of instrumental rock, you can still follow it.
Love your videos! I picked up the guitar again thanks to Band-Maid and I'm really inspired to get better at it. Your videos are a great motivator and I'll have fun noodling with those licks! I'm looking forward to the next one :)
makes me think "tiny hat" guy is a nod to akane's hat of power [gone, but not forgotten]. very informative technical deconstruction of the guitar parts of 'onset'. gonna leave the suggestions to the other maidiacs; will just wait for your next analysis.
Wow. That was really cool. Thanks for sharing. That final piece at 26:11, when I now hear all of it isolated on its own, sounds to me like traditional Japanese music that I might hear played by chimes. Neat.
Thanks dude, glad you liked it! Nice observation, I'm sure traditional music and all sorts of things impact their playing, both consciously and unconsciously!
@@JbfMusicGuitar they do have a side project where they do some of their songs in traditional Japanese music style. I’ve heard of their singer referred to as having a classic Japanese style vibrato as well. These ladies are well rounded musicians with a wide range of influences.
Great reaction! The fans have already given you great suggestions, so you have a lot to look forward to. If you want to check out one of the more intricate BM songs, you should give Giovanni a go. Until then, do whichever song you feel like. There are no bad Band-Maid songs.
@@JbfMusicGuitar it is a song with vocals on the newest album. The most recent instrumental is "Without holding back". None of the instrumentals are on any albums, and only Onset is available on RUclips, unfortunately.
Wow! That was a very interesting analysis, very informative. Subscribed for more. You shouldn't feel that the likes of the Prodigy or 90's EDM in general should be a guilty pleasure! There was a lot of interesting new forms of music in the 90's in that scene - House, Dance, Acid, Drum 'n' Bass, Jungle, Techno, Trance. Personally, while I loved The Prodigy, Leftfield, FSOL, The Chemical Brothers, KLF and The Orb, I was obsessed with Underworld from 93 onwards. I'd spent 20 years enjoying live Rock gigs (Led Zep in 79, Queen, Zappa, The Who, Pink Floyd, Rainbow and many others) and Metal (Sabbath in 76 with Ozzy, Judas Priest, Motorhead and Iron Maiden, etc) so I found most forms of EDM a really refreshing and interesting new genre to enjoy. Apart from the odd exception - like The White Stripes or Black Crowes or Slipknot - I just listened to those old Rock and Metal albums until I discovered Band-Maid. They have re-ignited my love of Rock, just as the Japanese band Babymetal have done with their unique genre of Metal - Kawaii Metal. BTW, if you think you had a big fan response for Band-Maid, the Babymetal fan base is even keener to share info and tell you all about them - you would definitely need to use that search tool again, damn fine idea that that is! You mentioned it's hard to get a good bass solo - or an interesting one, at least - so I'd have to recommend Babymetal's Rondo of Nightmare, which has a solo from the two guitarists, the drummer and the incredible bassist, BOH, who is extremely revered in Japan and outside for his superb bass skills: ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html . .
Prodigy, Leftfilkd, The Orb are all great; no shame there - I mean like atb, york, corona, snap!... all that cheesy stuff, I just love it, lol! Thanks for that Tony, sounds cool, I'll definitely check that out 🤘
It might seem like common sense that no one will want to watch an hour long video of someone breaking down a single song. Of course when BAND-MAID is concerned, common sense does not apply. What I'm trying to say is you can make those videos as long as you want. One vote for Daydreaming.
Another vote for Daydreaming! It’s an impossible task though because we’d just name every single song in their discography by the end because all 100+ songs are just that good.

This wasn't the first Band Maid song I heard, probably the third, but this is the one that opened my eyes wide. Whoa, these girls can play and the little girl with the PRS !!!!!!!! By the time she was tapping I was entranced and I have stayed a convinced fan. It was difficult to equate the sounds from her guitar with the shy, polite little person in interviews. Have since realised that Kanami is a genius and that everyone in the band is mega talented. Their output is prodigious and their work load puts other groups to shame. I play guitar a bit. I even have a core PRS, but Kanami to me is a musical genius with a long way to go yet.

As a bassist who is trying to become a better guitarist, I appreciated your point about playing staccato with the delay to keep it from becoming an atmospheric wash. Seems obvious in hindsight, but TIL.
please check out Tina S., extremely proficient female teen guitar player here on YT, she dropped off YT when she turned 18 to go to University, hasnt been back yet, mostly, from what i understand, because of jealous haters, but her channel keeps being upgraded, so she's out there somewhere, her cover of Beethovens moonlight sonata (3rd movement) 0n electric guitar is just mind blowing, she also does Malmsteen, Vai, Vivaldi and moore, also covers pink Floyd, dragonforce, metallica, i know there's more but cant remember them
I knew Band Maid was a special group of musicians when I first listened to them 7 years ago and that big things were coming their way. Thank you for shedding light in understandable terms of their incredible production techniques and musicianship, truly enhances my appreciation of their genius :)
The lead guitar/tapping melodies almost have a classical vibe about them, in the progression 🤷🏻♂️ I didn’t wait long enough (you mentioned Beethoven)👍
I agree with you on 99% of your analysis about them being stronger as a whole and not being individual virtuoses, except for Akane the drummer, Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin went to one of their concerts and was so floored by Akane’s drumming that he asked to go take a picture backstage with her, he said she was one of the best drummer he had ever seen, very interesting analysis tho👍
Thank you! I absolutely love onset and I am so glad that you are looking over it. I appreciate how you go ahead and breakdown what is happening, since as a guitar player it helps me see what is happening and how things are composed. During the tapping line, do you think it is in 16th notes or in triplets? I’ve played it in 16th notes but I find that I am a little off. Maybe my timing is just off but I am not sure. Once again, thank you!
No problem! Awesome, always good to know those parts are worth diving into! Sure, I'm hearing them as 16th notes, but because they are sort of in groups of 3 (four groups of 3 notes, then two groups to 2 notes- in terms of the accent) it has a displaced feel. A good trick (this is what I did to check it here) is to put the video at half speed a few bars before the section you want to check and count along in 16th notes, when the tapping bit comes along you'll be counting along with each note. The good thing here is that if you're not counting along at the same speed, you can eliminate 16th notes as a possibility! It works for pentuplets and stuff like that as well, which can be pretty tricky to clock at faster tempos as well! ^Hopefully that word salad made a bit of sense?!
@@JbfMusicGuitar thank you! I did exactly what you said and it worked! I’m trying to tab out the rhythm, lead, and bass and tabbing that lead tapping part was extremely helpful. Thanks for the response! I look forward to your other videos - especially your licks lesson videos.
You say bass solos are generally boring etc. but, the bassist is one of the main reasons many of us listen to them. I’ve never heard a bassist play so much with the band and the song and still be so creative, tasteful and impactful, coming through all the rest of the madness.
Totally, while bass solos are a bit notorious with musicians, basslines on the other hand... well they can really make a song! I've really enjoyed what I've heard here so far, Krist Novoselic and Tim Commerford are probably my two favourite players in that regard!
@@JbfMusicGuitar check them out playing Freedom live. It’s an earlier song, one they didn’t write and fairly simple by their standards but a hell of a lot of fun. The bassist effortlessly glides between bass, rhythm and lead guitar roles with her bass and holds down that entire song. The songwriting gets very interesting in their latest album but, so far, only “No God” has a live video on their channel.
@@sugoruyo Cheers for those, Freedom is near the top of my list for sure! No God seems to be getting suggested more as well, so I'll be sure to give that a listen
The only critique I'd have of your videos is the fact you don't rewind a bit after every pause. A lot of times you pause at the most frustrating times (like, in the middle of an awesome transition), which is fine if you have something you want to talk about. But unpausing without rewinding a few seconds ruins that transition. So my only suggestion to potentially improve your videos for viewers like myself would be rewinding a few seconds before each unpause. If you're using RUclips to watch, you can easily just hit the left arrow key on your keyboard to rewind the video 5 seconds, then press space to unpause.
getting the delay to match the tempo is easy if the band starts off a click track or for bands with enough money the can have a guitar tech control the tap tempo to ensure the delay matches the temp.
Totally! I think the do play to a click, so that would make sense! It's a bit more common to get pedals with tap tempo built in these days, but can still end up being a bit of a mess!
@@JbfMusicGuitar Everyone loved that hat. It's a pity she did away with it. Apparently it used to come off at the most inconvenient moments, when she went into full beast mode.
“captivating bass solo, so hats off”. Surely you mean Tiny Hats off? If it’s not already been mentioned Mincho (Kanami) uses several delay units (Eventide Time Factor and an H9) but she also uses a Free The Tone Flight Time which has a really neat rhythmn matching feature on board that uses software to match the delay to your playing tempo. I wonder if it is used on this track? I knew about this delay unit and its features before I knew about Band Maid but have never used one. Thinking about getting one but not sure I need it. If I’m honest though, when has that ever mattered? The one who dies with the most pedals wins right?
Ahhhhhh, what a pun, how could i have missed it?!?! I must be slipping...🤣 Thanks for the rig insight there, yeah that's a good point a lot of delay pedals have a tap tempo as well where you tap the speed in with your foot - I've never owned one of those so tend to forget they are quite common! I mean, if you think you'll use it might be a good shout, if it's just gonna sit in the corner * looks over at disused pedal board * it's maybe not too worthwhile?
@@JbfMusicGuitar I admire their approach & dedication. They have an incredible work ethic and practice relentlessly to achieve the timing they need to be so sharp live. Kanami always writes with what the song will be like in a live performance in mind. At the end of their Shibuya concert DVD there is a making of video that shows some of their practice and while they are having fun you can see how relentless they are at getting the sound they want.
@@JbfMusicGuitar The longest solo you will find is Akane's drum solo on Freedom and she maintains timing throughout and keeps the framework of the song; its the Bandmaid way.
@@JbfMusicGuitar On their latest (Unseen World), they even labelled one of the two discs "Progress," signaling to fans that there would be more experimentation on that side (in addition to Giovanni, other great ones that would be cool to hear you break down would be Black Hole, H.G.K, or No God) But even on prior albums there is a lot of care given to composition, regardless of what direction they happen to take.
@@philcalvino884 That's really cool, it's a bit like putting a modern spin on the concept of an A side and a B side, but more genre/style specific, I suppose? Cool idea for sure!

@@JbfMusicGuitar . Nemophila are still in early days. They only have about six songs. BUT. They have done a lot of really good live in studio covers of songs they like. Good stuff.
@@JbfMusicGuitar If you listen to enough of their stuff, you'll hear a deep jazz and funk influence. Not as up front as Herbie Hancock or Weather Report, but it's there.
The word "critique" makes it sound like you're judging them or something. I don't think it really fits with the actual tone of your analysis and might turn some people off. Love these videos though.
I've thought about that a bit, to me this isn't deep enough (compared to the other stuff I put out) to call an analysis/examine, I do a bit more than react. Critique is an informal analysis, so seemed to be the best fit. But I totally agree with you and I think some people think critique = criticise, which definitely cause a few issues in the past, lol!
One Scot to another, can I give you some constructive criticism? You seem like you're sitting looking for things to dissect instead of just enjoying it. By all means break it down after, but I think it would be a much more enjoyable experience for you and us if you just watched and enjoyed the performance for what it is first, then did your breakdown after.
This did occur to me during this one, but the thing is it's stuff I think of anyway - musician brain is gonna think of this stuff whether I want it to or not, lol!
I've started putting a disclaimer at the start more or less saying; it's more of a reaction/analysis, so if you want to watch the original, or watching someone watching it, these videos probably aren't for you. On the plus side there are probably thousands of reaction channels with next to no commentary/input on this song, so hopefully those can scratch that particular itch!
Its a reaction video with in depth analysis. What do u expect. If you want lesser stops, theres like a million other reaction videos that just give off no technical input and just say "they are awesome" which isnt fun at all

I always love to hear musicians/music teachers talk about Band Maid. I learn something new every time.
Glad to hear it bud!

Cool, glad I could shed some light on the little bits of magic they sprinkle over their music, and totally gotta work a pee break in to the set for sure 🤣
Awesome, will add those to the list!
Moratorium and Puzzle from Studio Coast, since the 2 songs are played back to back.
Tiny Hat-san. Good work on the original recommendation for Domination.

So many musicians, music teachers and people who work in the business have reacted to BM and been blown away by their ability. Helps to reaffirm that which we fans already know. This is a GREAT BAND.
They are indeed! Glad you got something from this one!
Nice catch on the idea of introducing a motif and re-purposing. Check out their MV for Blooming for some sheer genius in terms of interwoven motifs. The guitar solo part of that song, all the way through to the end is fantastic songwriting and you should take notice of the motif ideas during that section.
Cheers Kevin, I'll try to keep that in mind 🤘

They're really catchy riffs as well 🎸🎶
Love your analysis. The song "play" was their previous signature instrumental (it's a break for Saiki during the 2 hour sets) but it got lyrics added afterward. I'd love to see your take on that as well.
That's cool, to be honest the concept of a song that was instrumental but now has lyrics has piqued my curiosity!

Also, your demonstrations just make me admire Kanami's playing and writing even more.
@CHARLES VELTEN That's why I said "sideways". Very sideways.

It took me about 20 years for my Scottish heritage to kick in but now it's Laphroaig for the win!😁
at one point you highlighted the fact that they went back into a section and changed things up a bit.
It's the sort of thing bands will sometimes do in the studio (often by the producers request) to give a bit more of a sense of progression, cool that these guys do it live as well 🤘
Yeah, I think you're on the money with that Steve!
Good point!
Love your videos! I picked up the guitar again thanks to Band-Maid and I'm really inspired to get better at it. Your videos are a great motivator and I'll have fun noodling with those licks! I'm looking forward to the next one :)

You mentioned it's hard to get a good bass solo - or an interesting one, at least - so I'd have to recommend Babymetal's Rondo of Nightmare, which has a solo from the two guitarists, the drummer and the incredible bassist, BOH, who is extremely revered in Japan and outside for his superb bass skills: ruclips.net/video/8WBDiLMNZcE/видео.html . .

You'll probably appreciate Moratorium, Play, No God, Giovanni and many more... they play different styles of music, but they have their sound.

Cheers dude, glad you liked it! From Page himself?!?! High praise indeed 🙌

Great suggestion! I'll try to remember to do that, or even just move the videos back in general to a certain bit I'm talking about
getting the delay to match the tempo is easy if the band starts off a click track or for bands with enough money the can have a guitar tech control the tap tempo to ensure the delay matches the temp.
Totally! I think the do play to a click, so that would make sense! It's a bit more common to get pedals with tap tempo built in these days, but can still end up being a bit of a mess!
Misa GROOVES.
That is all.
10:05 Superior video-pausing skill ... caught TinyHat-san at the perfect moment 😁
Lmao, that's brilliant, so many details I've never noticed!
@@JbfMusicGuitar Everyone loved that hat. It's a pity she did away with it. Apparently it used to come off at the most inconvenient moments, when she went into full beast mode.
Ain't nothing to critique...they nailed it and kicked its ass on the way out the door.
Did you watch the video?
Check out Daydreaming for something quite different
Thank you, I'll add that to my list 🤘
I must be slipping...🤣
Thanks for the rig insight there, yeah that's a good point a lot of delay pedals have a tap tempo as well where you tap the speed in with your foot - I've never owned one of those so tend to forget they are quite common! I mean, if you think you'll use it might be a good shout, if it's just gonna sit in the corner * looks over at disused pedal board * it's maybe not too worthwhile?
Excelente
Many thanks sir!
They intentionally always keep solos minimal and integral to the song. Everything is about the song with them and not individual ego.
Really getting that impression from them!
@@bartyslattfast Sounds cool, I'll have to dig around and look at some behind the scene stuff at some point!
@@JbfMusicGuitar They are fun to watch; they really are best friends & treat each other like sisters.
Wonderland, pls
Thanks! I'll make a note of that one
you should listen to the songs in their latest album.
Is Giovanni on that? Think that's popped up in the suggestions a wee bit
@@JbfMusicGuitar Yes. but only audio version (official) is available.
Not gonna lie kind of want to see you break down different a log Horizon 3 anime opening by band-maid
That one popped up a few times in the last videos comments, I'll add it to the list 🔥
Bass solos isn't boring, but solos can be regardless of instrument.
Very true!
‘’No God’ from the newest album is a must. It’s a great song with interesting stuff for you to analyze. It has lots of chromaticism and a cool key change. You can listen to it on Spotify
Great! Thanks for the suggestion William 🤘
@@JbfMusicGuitar live video dropped a few days ago on their channel.
NEMOPHILA- DESSENSION
Thanks for the suggestion James, I'll make ma note of that!
@@JbfMusicGuitar . Nemophila are still in early days. They only have about six songs. BUT. They have done a lot of really good live in studio covers of songs they like.
Good stuff.
@@Darth.Fluffy Cheers, I should really get round to checking them out!
The only rock band these days with the chops to play what is essentially a fusion song.
That's a really interesting take, I'd never have put this in the 'fusion' bracket, but I really can't fault your logic!
@@JbfMusicGuitar If you listen to enough of their stuff, you'll hear a deep jazz and funk influence. Not as up front as Herbie Hancock or Weather Report, but it's there.
Show me that kanami has a classical composing background without...
You have a lot to still learn....
I'm sure I do, John!
If you wanted to preserve the "reaction" you could always just edit in the analysis later.
This did occur to me during this one, but the thing is it's stuff I think of anyway - musician brain is gonna think of this stuff whether I want it to or not, lol!
once again stopping way to freaking much
I've started putting a disclaimer at the start more or less saying; it's more of a reaction/analysis, so if you want to watch the original, or watching someone watching it, these videos probably aren't for you.
On the plus side there are probably thousands of reaction channels with next to no commentary/input on this song, so hopefully those can scratch that particular itch!
Its a reaction video with in depth analysis. What do u expect. If you want lesser stops, theres like a million other reaction videos that just give off no technical input and just say "they are awesome" which isnt fun at all
@@guy-rk1jj my job is done lol
@@guy-rk1jj Appreciate that dude, thanks!
@@JbfMusicGuitar no prob man, i been trying to search for so long for react vids that actually provide some technical details and not just praise them without any inputs. Keep up the good work man!
