Criticising your friend isn’t the same as stabbing them in the back. Come on man
I agree with parts of what you said. But I do disagree with some other parts that you talk about.
1. For everyone, there is a limit of how far you cross the line. Jack simply spoke the truth, the Nazi jokes were pretty stupid. While he himself made those jokes before, it was only one or two tweets. A tiny part of Pewdiepie’s content relies on that type of joke, which of course well definitely get him into trouble. Even Pewdiepie himself admitted that it was a stupid thing he did.
2. Jack did defend Felix. He stated that in real life, Pewds is a kind person, and that he is not a Nazi sympathizer. Despite that you put that part in your video, you never talked about it. Instead you just made your vid more dramatic by saying that he never defended him.
3. The part where Jack talks about Disney cutting up ties between Pewdiepie is also just Jack speaking the truth. He certainly didn’t wish that it happened, but as he said, as in a *business* point of view he agrees that with Disney. Jack got a lot of hate from that just because he didn’t speak his actual feelings about the event.
4. Now, pretend that you have spent a long time helped make a show with your friends, only to hear that it’s canceled, heartbreaking wouldn’t it? All of that effort, gone as if it was nothing. Jack didn’t point that out because he was selfish, he pointed that out because it was recent and that it affected everyone who put effort into the show together.
5. And finally, Pewdiepie didn’t made what jack is today, we did. We chose to subscribe his channel and watch his videos, and him in exchange takes time in his life to present us with another 20 minutes of entertainment and having fun while doing it. Felix gave him the attention he needed and jack took the effort to prove that he is worth it.
I don’t think that counted as Jack backstabbing Felix, I think that it was more like a report of how he felt on the topic.

Pewdiepie gave Jack a shoutout when he was very small, this lead to Jack getting millions of subscribers launching his career into the skies. Pewdie pie continued to give him small shoutouts here and there for years growing his channel even larger.
THEN Pewdiepie and Jack make a NAZI joke together, and nobody bats an eye because its a fucking joke, right.

Jack freaks out and makes a video saying that he thinks what pewdiepie did was wrong because he was AFRAID THAT PEOPLE WOULD ATTACK HIM ASWELL due to his ties and connections with PEWDIEPIE, the one and only person who is responsible for Jacks career on youtube. Jack would not be a thing without pewdiepie.
Jack then realises that he just backstabbed his best friend, and apologises to pewdiepie both personally and in public. He then says that he regrets making that video, because it WAS A BACKSTAB.

Many times it's coming back to the fact that Felix gave a shout out to Sean. Yeah, getting a shout from a big channel with big audience does give you recognition, but the fact that Sean him self with his own work has kept the people on the channel for so long and still going, building his own community is how he's so big.

I think that he was getting attacked for supporting felix, and before he did proper research on the subject quickly tried to damage control, but in his panic he inadvertently came off as blaming felix for what was happening, which ended up coming off as him saying felix was in the wrong in the situation. Which he wasn't. So yeah, he made a mistake and did not have his friends back. but as long as he is admitting that and makes it right with felix, then thats fine. Humans make mistakes. I’ve seen a lot of talk after the video went up and I’m trying to get an overall picture as much as I can. Some people agree with my video, some really don’t and some agree with half of it. No one is wrong and I definitely appreciate the variety of opinions because as I said, I’m not right and I am open to discuss it further.
My main regret for this video was focusing too much on what Felix did and whether I agreed with it or not instead of elaborating on the media side of it all. I did this initially because I wanted to avoid the “youtubers vs the mainstream media” narrative that’s been going around but I can see now that that wasn’t a good idea. It made it seem like I was defending them more than Felix and I was throwing him under the bus. Absolutely not my intention. I think because I’m close friends with Felix that I thought I could criticise him a bit more and explain it to him if he disagreed but to the outside viewer this isn’t apparent and looks like I just blasted him instead in front of a lot of people.
I do think there were some unethical practices at play with the media, a lot of misquoting and misrepresentation and then other articles taking that and doing their spin on it which muddied the waters more. As I said in my video, it got very messy. Also yeah, it’s a little strange that WSJ would focus on a youtuber making jokes (good or bad) rather than bigger real issues, as Felix put it “I expect it from The Sun maybe but not Wall Street Journal”.
When I said “WSJ weren’t wrong to run the story” I meant that technically it’s in their rights to do whatever they want. I don’t have to agree with it however and some parts of it did feel a little overly critical of everything while other sections flat out lied about him. Some articles literally called him “Racist” which I mentioned I knew wasn’t true.
I felt like most of this had been said by everyone else and better, so I made it a shorter talking point in my video which now I see wasn’t a good idea. It paints a picture that isn’t true. I think fear of backlash got to me a bit and I’m inexperienced tackling such large issues so I didn’t get specific. There’s no one right answer to everything but I’m not arrogant or stubborn enough to not listen to others on this and discuss it or even admit when I’m wrong.
I still stand with Felix as my friend, in fact now more than ever because he needs it. I’ve been in contact with Felix privately over all of this and have shown support since the very beginning. The insane endless attacks on him and witch hunt are out of control and going too far. We all make mistakes and should be given an opportunity to learn from them.

Ugh, the DramaAlert Community sometimes isn't the smartest. Keem's point went right over their head. Understand the point of this video isn't to say Jack stabbed PewDiePie in the back. It's to point out the fact that Jack himself feared what he could be label as by association, fearing that it would affect him. This is a problem because it tells other outside sources (Usually, the mainstream media who wants control over what's influencing society) that we need them to step in and point out what's right and wrong. That we can't handle internal conflicts ourselves. Understand that the mainstream media did nothing to build this community and ironically the did more to suppress us than anything. An opinion is not connected to friendship, if it ever was it would be a fake friendship. Felix has nothing against Jack saying this, and the video showed how Jack actually cared about Felix and was willing to say his own opinion even though he knew many people will disagree. He also said "PERSONALLY" he thinks that the Scare Pewdiepie being cancelled is a shame, since it also took some work for him. He apologized to Felix as you said, so this video is pretty pointless when you think about it. You need to check the youtube comments on the "Let's talk!" video. Jack realizes it sounded like he was attacking Pewds but he didn't mean it like that. Jack was entirely in the right for saying Pewd's joke was really bad. To the nazi jokes in general? To my knowledge no popular youtuber has made a video where they were antisemetic. I feel like if that were the case the youtuber would come out or not talk about that. I definitely agree with your ending about how WSJ and etc shouldn't have any power over youtubers. Jack shouldn't have made the video he did especially when he claimed that he was inexperienced with making videos like that. I don't believe Jack was scared of media but used a poor choice of words.
