I hated this episode. Born and raised New Yorker here and we do NOT dress like that in the snow. Not even the most fashionable does that foolishness. LTW lives she said in the 80's on the Upper East Side and MOMA is in the 50's. NO WAY she walking 30+ blocks dressed like that. Reading the NY Times on Sunday is very much still a thing in NYC. I grew up on The NY Times (only paper my Dad would read and bring home). I would spend HOURS looking at the luxury NYC real estate section. I will NEVER forget when my cousin got crabs 🤣when we were teenagers. Jokes and teasing for DAYS/WEEKS We go to the Hamptons in the summer but you have to book the house in the winter (if you want a good house). I wish I would tell my parents I'm having sex at 16. Little Trivia, the actress that plays Lilly is 27yrs old. That entire story line was BEYOND dumb and infuriating. There is a Duane Reade (our NYC pharmacy chain) on damn near every corner, in Manhattan and some our open 24hrs. We also have many CVS open 24hrs, but Duane Reade is our staple pharmacy. There is no way in hell Miranda and Steve's Brooklyn brownstone does not have more than 2 bedrooms and doesn't have a finished basement for Miranda or Steve to move into. Nope, no way in hell. Having a snow day is the best, when your house is perfectly clean and you in your pajamas with snacks and tv all day.

I'm from several eras ago, but I remember trudging through a blizzard to get to my Bronx JHS because school was open. There weren't enough teachers so they put us in the auditorium and showed us horror movies (Wait Until Dark and Village of the Damned) that took me months to get over. Then they sent us home. True story. On the other hand, private schools are on a different order of magnitude and close at the drop of a hat. Since the invention of zoom schooling during the pandemic, I believe snow days are history. Lastly as for LTWs heels...hahahahahha. One endearing quality of NY is that the drains into the sewers immediately get clogged by snow and slush builds up and you can be walking along (in real snowboots) and get to a corner and sink up to your calves in a slush puddle. White stillettos indeed. LOL

So that tells us, they also have a basement. A lot of people in Brooklyn who own Brownstones have full finished basements. Some people rent it out because it has separate entrance. Carrie's home is a Townhouse (same as brownstone), but it was converted to apartments. Little technical things like this drive me insane lol I know its just a show but I am OCD, so I notice little things. Also driving me crazy, is Carrie renovated her condo in movie #1, yet now it looks like SATC show pre renovation. She used it as a closet when she married, so why would she do all that renovations to put it back
The absolute BEST part about this show is your recaps. "How many times you think she gonna be f-ing?" had me laughing so hard my son came in the room to see what I was laughing at. And I think Carrie's walking-in-the-snow dress looked like a bunch of sleeping bags sewn together. I mean, what was that??? Yes to seeing your t-shirts!
That dress is a Moncler couture down dress (the winterwear brand has a couture line), from a few seasons ago iirc. It was stunning as an editorial piece. Who the hell leaves their house dressed like that on a blizzard. She would collect a metric ton of snow under that skirt!! I get suspension of disbelief but man, help us out here!
I was just so outdone that not only would she trek out into a blizzard for condoms, but that she would get so many. Not a 3 pack...a TWELVE PACK!? 😂 I was reading about the dress and it's one of those pieces that was designed never to be worn in real life, so it was just another plug for a major fashion house I guess.

This show is helpful sometimes. For example, I used to hate remembering my teenage years because of the dumb teenage decisions I made. But watching Charlotte's kids makes me realize I was a friggin genius.

I think the actual actor that plays Steve has hearing loss in one of his ears so he has an aid. The argument scene was so real to me. Steve has always more or less been the one fighting for their relationship and yes he did cheat in the first movie but he's hurt he looks like he bottles a lot of things up where Miranda was the more outspoken/demanding one.
There has never been any room in their relationship or marriage for Steve to be himself. It's always been about what Miranda wanted. She treated him like shit, and only wanted him back when she saw him with Debbie.
Elle Bee, my favorite RUclipsr! I have lived in NYC for 24+ years. First, we haven't gotten snowstorms like the whopper they dropped on this episode in as long as I can remember. Second, fantasy-land blizzards aside, NO ONE in their right damn mind is trudging through any amount of dirty street-snow in a satin ball gown. Love this channel! as for the Hamptons house, you need to rent a house for the summer in January or February. I am not exaggerating when I say the house Seema picked out, and didn’t even ask Carrie about first, would cost well over 100k/month and you’d probably have to rent it for the whole summer. The way they throw money around isn’t realistic even for people with this kind of money-who are actually some of the cheapest nickel and dimers you’ll ever meet.
Yes, I love a good tshirt. I had a dinner party for my 40th (during covid) with my child, nieces, sisters and parents...very small but I requested just that...we all wore black, sat at the dining room table, played jazz in the background. It was truly nice.

I feel that between the time of series ending and movies starting the myth around the iconic wardrobe of the Sex and the City grew and became OVERINFLATED. Because the clothes in this new series and movies are ridiculous. Not in the way that they were in the series, where they were quirky or funny but ridiculous as in, they don't wear like clothes, they are costumes, so fake, pretentious and unbelievable. The clothes on the actual original shows were not that costumy. They were actually what someone would wear who's extremely into fashion, during everyday life. They were people in clothes. Now they are caricatured. I don't know if anyone agrees but I think people remember the series costume as more dramatic than they were.
I'm not at all into fashion, but this is a great take. I used to think some of the shit Carrie wore was nuts, but she used to look so stinking good sometimes! I wanted that newspaper dress from the original show so badly! That kind of impact is totally gone in this show. Seema, and Nya are the only ones who dress like actual actual people. LTW is hit or miss.

I used to spend summers in NY with my family in the Bronx in Co-Op City, so I'm used to the square footage. 😂 Once at a house party with my cousin, her friend had a seat made out of her radiator cover. Her apartment was about 800 soft and it was 6 of us in there. 😆 I thought it was so cool.
As for the Hamptons, you have to find a house in the winter for the summer. Also, Charlotte lives off 5th or Park in the 60/70s in the UES and there are no big name pharmacies over there - closest would be off 3rd or 2nd where she prob would never go. That’s why she went to a family- owned pharmacy place - that’s all that is there. Happy to answer any NYC queries moving forward.

I'm from several eras ago, but I remember trudging through a blizzard to get to my Bronx JHS because school was open. There weren't enough teachers so they put us in the auditorium and showed us horror movies (Wait Until Dark and Village of the Damned) that took me months to get over. Then they sent us home. True story. On the other hand, private schools are on a different order of magnitude and close at the drop of a hat. Since the invention of zoom schooling during the pandemic, I believe snow days are history. Lastly as for LTWs heels...hahahahahha. One endearing quality of NY is that the drains into the sewers immediately get clogged by snow and slush builds up and you can be walking along (in real snowboots) and get to a corner and sink up to your calves in a slush puddle. White stillettos indeed. LOL
@@bethcrumpton476 Exactly! Also in the first movie, when they do the intro, Miranda is playing with Brady in a kiddie pool and water hose - Steve comes out the basement with ice cream. So that tells us, they also have a basement. A lot of people in Brooklyn who own Brownstones have full finished basements. Some people rent it out because it has separate entrance. Carrie's home is a Townhouse (same as brownstone), but it was converted to apartments. Little technical things like this drive me insane lol I know its just a show but I am OCD, so I notice little things.
Also driving me crazy, is Carrie renovated her condo in movie #1, yet now it looks like SATC show pre renovation. She used it as a closet when she married, so why would she do all that renovations to put it back
The absolute BEST part about this show is your recaps. "How many times you think she gonna be f-ing?" had me laughing so hard my son came in the room to see what I was laughing at.
And I think Carrie's walking-in-the-snow dress looked like a bunch of sleeping bags sewn together. I mean, what was that???

That dress is a Moncler couture down dress (the winterwear brand has a couture line), from a few seasons ago iirc. It was stunning as an editorial piece. Who the hell leaves their house dressed like that on a blizzard. She would collect a metric ton of snow under that skirt!!

I was just so outdone that not only would she trek out into a blizzard for condoms, but that she would get so many. I think the actual actor that plays Steve has hearing loss in one of his ears so he has an aid. The argument scene was so real to me. Steve has always more or less been the one fighting for their relationship and yes he did cheat in the first movie but he's hurt he looks like he bottles a lot of things up where Miranda was the more outspoken/demanding one.
There has never been any room in their relationship or marriage for Steve to be himself. It's always been about what Miranda wanted. She treated him like shit, and only wanted him back when she saw him with Debbie.
Elle Bee, my favorite RUclipsr! I have lived in NYC for 24+ years. First, we haven't gotten snowstorms like the whopper they dropped on this episode in as long as I can remember. Second, fantasy-land blizzards aside, NO ONE in their right damn mind is trudging through any amount of dirty street-snow in a satin ball gown. Third--all the men on this show have clearly been neutered, muzzled, and marginalized...Harry doesn't get to 'parent' and Steve doesn't have the right to be angry with Miranda (according to the lame writers of this dumb-dumb-dumb cash-grab). Love this channel! as for the Hamptons house, you need to rent a house for the summer in January or February. I am not exaggerating when I say the house Seema picked out, and didn’t even ask Carrie about first, would cost well over 100k/month and you’d probably have to rent it for the whole summer. The way they throw money around isn’t realistic even for people with this kind of money-who are actually some of the cheapest nickel and dimers you’ll ever meet.

Yes, I love a good tshirt. I had a dinner party for my 40th (during covid) with my child, nieces, sisters and parents...very small but I requested just that...we all wore black, sat at the dining room table, played jazz in the background. It was truly nice.

I feel that between the time of series ending and movies starting the myth around the iconic wardrobe of the Sex and the City grew and became OVERINFLATED.
Because the clothes in this new series and movies are ridiculous. Not in the way that they were in the series, where they were quirky or funny but ridiculous as in, they don't wear like clothes, they are costumes, so fake, pretentious and unbelievable.
The clothes on the actual original shows were not that costumy. They were actually what someone would wear who's extremely into fashion, during everyday life. They were people in clothes. Now they are caricatured. I don't know if anyone agrees but I think people remember the series costume as more dramatic than they were.
I'm not at all into fashion, but this is a great take. I used to think some of the shit Carrie wore was nuts, but she used to look so stinking good sometimes! I wanted that newspaper dress from the original show so badly! That kind of impact is totally gone in this show. Seema, and Nya are the only ones who dress like actual actual people. LTW is hit or miss.

I used to spend summers in NY with my family in the Bronx in Co-Op City, so I'm used to the square footage. 😂 Once at a house party with my cousin, her friend had a seat made out of her radiator cover. Her apartment was about 800 soft and it was 6 of us in there. 😆 I thought it was so cool.
As for the Hamptons, you have to find a house in the winter for the summer. Also, Charlotte lives off 5th or Park in the 60/70s in the UES and there are no big name pharmacies over there - closest would be off 3rd or 2nd where she prob would never go. That’s why she went to a family- owned pharmacy place - that’s all that is there. Happy to answer any NYC queries moving forward.

Me and my sister went to see Shania Twain almost 2 decades ago. It was one of the funnest times I’ve ever had in my life. It was a great concert and she gave good energy and she had 1 million wardrobe changes. I remember that! That was a wild night for us. Back when we were young and fun! Ha
