Thanks for the video, I was out running yesterday and saw a couple bent down foraging, I asked what they were picking and they said wild garlic so I came to youtube to find out more. Out running again today I went and picked some myself, tastes quite like a spring onion, had that pepperiness to it when eating it raw (once washed). It was on a small scrap of land behind the train tracks, in a wet woody hollow.
Discovered a small wood near me recently which is absolutely full to wild garlic. Just walking in to the wood and you have this gorgeous aroma. Thanks for the info on identifying its not so nice lookylikies. Hopefully the weather is gong to be a bit more walking friendly tomorrow so I'm going to harvest some. Pickling and pesto making are what I'm planning on. Presumably one shouldn't take too much from any one plant?
If it’s in abundance I don’t tend to worry too much, but of course if there’s a small amount then I would be very conscientious of not damaging the plants. Good luck 👍
Unfortunately I don’t think so, however I did find this useful vro.agriculture.vic.gov.au/dpi/vro/vrosite.nsf/pages/weeds_herbs_perennial_bulb_wild_garlic as this another wild edible I will make a video on and you have this in Australia. Hope this is helpful

Sounds like the perfect environment for it👍
Where if I could go, I am living at CA, thanks.
I foraged ramsons today. I double and triple checked each leaf I'm drying them. I'll make powder for longterm storage.
Nice video , there’s loads in my garden and I never Evan knew it
That’s awesome! You are lucky! 👍😊
Very helpful, do you know if there would still be any of this growing, Co Kildare, Ireland?
Yes for sure, not until the spring now though

Would you find wild garlic in the north of South Australia?

Yummy, I want to make pesto!
We make pesto using foraged walnuts to go with the garlic. It’s awesome

Here in the Uk ramps and wild garlic are synonymous 👍
Ramps and wild garlic are two different plants my man.
That’s the problem with common names I suppose
