The Joe intro is interesting because it's HD yet it's parodying the version of the intro from before American Dad made the switch. I wonder how much they had to remake.
What I think is more interesting is that I had never realized how tanned the Family Guy cast is compared to American Dad’s. Joe is practically black next to Francine and Hailey.
3:15 these are deleted scenes, but would have appreciated these to be real because it compares greatly both shows. But maybe the original version was just enough because, it was all dream and anything else wouldnt matter anyway
People talk about how Joe Swanson and Stan Smith are different physically, but do we want to talk about how similar they are in terms of personality? Both are military men who want to protect the city, both have anger issues, both complain and get depressed easily and both have performed some heroic deeds and demonstrated many skills in their work
Well joe has a wife who doesn't love him amd has literally plotted to kill him since he got put in a Wheelchair. So i would say his depression and anger is more justified. While stan, well he tries.
I'm flabbergasted that there's almost 7 mins worth of footage of them going back and forth, both shows have been out for more than a decade, each. I feel like there should be more!
For added context, the original character, Hawkeye, was hiding with a group of refugees on a bus trying to avoid enemy patrol. A woman on the bus has a chicken that he yells at her to silence or they'll be found, and she inevitably smothers it. It's later revealed during psychiatric treatment that he misremembered to protect his mental state, as the woman had a baby on the bus instead of a chicken.
Including Rick & Morty (it isn't a Seth MacFarlane show though, but eh, who gives a shit?), and the Scooby-Doo gang (at least how they looked like in 2015).
There’s more than enough evidence in these clips (and some in American dad) to imply the two shows take place in the same universe. Wish they would have an official crossover
My theory is that director bullock from American dad is actually suzie Swanson . Case being that in the “American dad/family guy universe “ it’s established that the cia has technology that allows them to place the conscious of a human into an animal . Example klaus the fish and also the koala bear agent. Now in a throw away gag , director bullock claims he spends his free time lving the life of infant children to fulfill a fetish. Now this ties into family guy because if you notice that suzie when she speaks (her internal dialogue) shares the same voice actor as director bullock. Being Patrick Stewart . Idk if this has any weight but I always thought they could do a crossover that way
Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show DO all take place in the same universe. There's a full crossover during the hurricane trio of episodes at the end
I never realized Bender from Futurama, Roger from AD and the coach from Home Movies were all in the Star Wars scene🤦🏽♀️ ETA: so is the monkey that hid in Chris’s closet
It's sad like a third of Family Guy's jokes about AD are "Stan looks like Joe" or "the alien's gay" which aren't even really true. Like the facial structure between Swanson and Smith are fairly different and Roger even by the fifth AD season let alone when FG made those points was just generally too omnisexual to say he was just gay. Sad too how the biggest crossovers especially the whole "Smiths move across the street is a dream" was cut a lot in the actual show airing for... I don't know what reason.
@@akmi1931 It's not great they don't know really anything about their sister show and don't even know how to properly make fun of it. Hell isn't calling Roger gay like just saying "Stewie's Gay and everything he does is gay you can't tell any other jokes about him other then he's gay" which isn't true for FG at all. In that yeah both characters obviously have very gay moments and they have a lot of gay jokes associated with them but also jokes and bits about them either being with or having attraction to women as well.
There’s also the scene in the episode where the family guy characters are doing a “behind the scenes” voiceover of a Family Guy episode and the voice actors use their normal voices to explain to the characters that they aren’t real, and Seth says he needs everyone to form a human shield around him so he can leave the studio without the American Dad people seeing him
It's a reference to the last episode of M*A*S*H, when Hawkeye tells Sidney about a Korean woman smothering a chicken to keep it quiet so they wouldn't be found by a North Korean patrol, but in actuality it was her baby she smothered
The reference is that Barry appears as a background character throughout the entire episode since it takes place in a fat camp @TheMilkman-ur5ip Personally, I'm a fan of the fact that he's just naturally there, and no one calls attention to it.
