    Igniting Excellence: SASU set to celebrate 75th anniversary
    December 19, Kohima: The #Southern #Angami #Students’ #Union (SASU) is gearing up to celebrate its 75th Anniversary from January 8 to 10, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, #Tewetso-ozwü, Sweba, Viswema under Kohima district. The event will be hosted by the Viswema Students' Union with the theme, “Igniting Excellence.”
    This announcement was made during a media briefing at Hotel Japfü, Kohima by #Shürhovol Naleo, Convenor of the Organizing Committee, alongside #Letso Mekro, SASU President, and #Kevingoto Sachü, General Secretary.
    Distinguished Guests:
    January 8:
    Introductory Guest: #Kevithuto Sophie, Commissioner of Police, Dimapur.
    January 9:
    Special Guest: #Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Higher Education & Tourism (to unveil the anniversary monolith).
    Cultural Session Guest: MLA #Kevipodi Sophie.
    January 10:
    Academic Guest: MLA Dr. #Tseilhoutuo (Ato) Rhütso, Chairman DPDB Kohima.
    Valedictory Guest: Er. #Kropol Vitsu, Advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationery.
    Extravaganza Nite Guest: Dr. #Hovithal Sothu, Project Director, TaFMA.
    Invited Organizations:
    Southern Angami Sports Association
    Southern Angami Public Organization
    Southern Angami Women Organization
    Southern Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho
    Southern Angami Youth Organization
    Er. #Tepul Hopovi, President of SAPO, will address the gathering, and #Khriesamhalie David Mere, President of the Angami Students’ Union, will deliver greetings. Experience sharing will be conducted by #Ane Khieya, EAC Kohima. Elderly blessings will be pronounced by #Vilhousa Seleyi, former President of the Angami Public Organization (APO).
    Key Events:
    Debate Competition on the topic: “Southern Angami people are understanding, peaceful and progressive.”
    Traditional Fire-Making Competition
    Group Folk Song Competition
    The celebration will conclude with the introduction of the new SASU office bearers during the valedictory session.
    Participants will include 13 units under SASU: Khuzama, Kezoma, Jakhama, Pfüchama, Phesama, Mitelephe, Kezo-Basa, Viswema, Sakhabama, Kigwema, Mima, Kidima, and Kezo town.
