Common with the Grant Park Orchestra for Millennium Park’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

July 20, 2024 was an amazing night for Chicago and #MillenniumPark!
Academy Award, Emmy and Grammy-winning artist and #SouthSide native Common performed a FREE evening-length concert alongside the Grant Park Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Parnther to a crowd of 14k+ fans of hip hop, love and unity! As DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth declared before the show, "The city of Chicago is the heartbeat of the creative process!" ❤
The night was full of surprises with support from De La Soul, Bilal, Pete Rock, J Ivy, Talib Kweli and Chicago's own Jennifer Hudson + more - even an onstage appearance by Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx!
This special concert, co-presented by DCASE and the Grant Park Music Festival, was part of the 4-day Millennium Park 20th Anniversary Celebration presented by Capital One with additional support from the Millennium Park Foundation and others.
