Originally, I thought it was a little strange the way you used the same expressions in all your videos. But over time, I slowly began to figure out that it was your routine and you giving all figures fair judgement.
I don't know if this was addressed in the comments, but I think the maquette/reference model (used for reference for the actual CG model) may have been the basis for this figure. If you've seen the maquette, you'll get what I mean (especially the vague reddish color around Godzilla's mouth). I have the figure, BTW. It's great. Thankfully, mine didn't have the eye issue!

Ugh, I was so excited for this figure and now I'm wondering if there may be a second production run like on the 94 Godzilla that fixes the issues. Still, everything else on the figure looks solid. Great review, as always! That fire breath showdown shot at the end is amazing!

Ok, so my eyes seem...right. I will send you a pic. Great review! Love your close up shots and demo's of this figure. Agree totally on the sloppy paint job of the teeth. Pretty damn lazy. Not FRESH. For the price we are paying for these, there should not be these issues this far into the line. I think they rushed this figure out to cash in on the success of the film. Meh. It is still nice regardless. Awesome dorsal plates and a nice paint job...minus the teeth.
i like the eyes just plain gold instead of with pupils for a reason.. in the The movie, you care barely notice his pupils, except the end, but heck, he also has a derpy eyes
Just got this figure yesterday for Christmas, and oh my god is it fantastic. I got really lucky with the paint apps on the eyes and teeth/snout, because they're are perfect! My only issue is that the joints on my figure are a little stiff.
now what would really be awesome even if it was a web exclusive is if they did a zilla release to complete the various forms of godzilla ive been a huge toho/kaiju monster fan since i was little and to have a full variation of the kaiju king would be great
Alright guys i managed to get this figure, and trust me: It will blow the NECA one(which i also own) away. While it seems slightly less screen accurate, the look kinda grows on you and you will love the detail and articulation.
Nice review Diego! The only thing with your godzilla is that mine doesn't have those weird eyes, but it has straight forward eyes and is acurate with the movie.
having the exact same problem with multiple figures suggests and issue with automated assembly (I don't know it's automated, but with this high demand I doubt any of them are hand made). It's probably just a glitch, but since machines are designed to crank out hundreds or so of these a day, a lot were made before the guys at Tamashii or whoever runs the joint fixed it. But by then, there would've been thousands of figures already made, so they probably figured "Just send these out, and we'll make later ones with the problem fixed. Figure out the issue with refunds later." Note that this is all speculation, but it does sound likely. Any other theories are welcome.
Best shmonsterarts monsterverse Godzilla I think Mostly because it brought back the big G and his design is not only genius but Awsome And his head is an appropriate size ahem (Godzilla 2019 Godzilla 2021)

These all look very nice, though the eyes and teeth kinda ruin it like you said. I wish they would fix that in future releases for him if possible, then it would be perfect. Hope they decide to do that in the future.
The skull is the major issue. I mean look at the majority paint-apps on the figure, really outstanding, but as you pan up, you see a single derpy eye and sharp teeth with the pant applied to the gums. I really hope SHMA aren't getting lazy!

One slim possibility with the paint apps on the eyes is that it's (however ill advised) intentional. Yes, it makes him look wall-eyed from the front, but in profile, it gives the impression he's looking a particular direction. One side looking forward, the other looking down.
Love your videos DiegoDoom I'm a huge fan of your Godzilla reviews and there's a way to fix the issues repaint the eyes and the teeth I've watched all the g2014 SHMA reviews one of them repaint the teeth & eyes with the type of paint so no need to worried I hope my comment helps your well come if it does
Honestly, I think that the reason for the eyes in different positions is to have it for different poses. Like the left eye that looks down is for you to pose with him looking down at something and the right eye is just for normal looking straight forward and other normal poses. I say this because if you look at the figure head on at times, the ridge over the right eye casts a shadow to somewhat "cover up" the eye when you look at it straight on. Just speculation and food for thought. Great review again DiegoDoom!

So now I have one safely in the box in mint condition and one on my shelf. Tiny chipped spine and all I still like the figure. Hopefully I will be able to pick up the poster variant when it comes out at my local shop, eventhough it is gonna be expensive as hell. Lol. Anyway I look forward to your review on that figure.

Hello Diego, I enjoyed the review. Thanks for that. I have this Godzilla figure and other from the S.H. Monster Arts line. One of the coolest things from me is that they make an effort to try and make the figures to scale with each other more or less. I'm excited for the PS4 game coming this summer. I did notice in the trailer for the game that 2014 Godzilla is much bigger than the 1995 Godzilla. After seeing that, I'm wishing that S.H. Monster Arts will make a 3rd revision of the 2014 Godzilla that should be much larger standing next to the other Godzilla's. Any hopes of that happening. Take care and thanks. Harold

Great review! I was wondering how you wrapped the tail around in front during the shots in the beginning. Then I realized it's the crater effect parts. hehe. The giveaway policy is quite extensive, I see why you defer from doing it.
Fantastic review!! I got mine today and the eyes and teeth are fine. Sometimes initial figure runs from various companies have QC issues that get corrected as they continue. However, the arms and feet come off too easily during basic posing. This is my first SHMA figure and I hope to get others like the "Birth" Godzilla.

I like that you showed off the Neca one with it. I own the Neca one. It's hard for me to want to pick up the monsterarts figures just do the the price. I do love them so much but I'm happy that the states have one they can pick up that's still pretty good.
There are a few issues with these. For example on mine the left shoulder is wonky and one of the spikes chipped off. Now it's only like millimeter at most but to us collectors it is kind of noticeable. Plus when posing it the top torso popped off along with the very end of the tail section. I knew it was delicate so that's why I bought 2 but that shouldn't be the case. I was considering buying the poster variant but considering these issues the third party:import price of $200 isn't worth it. However I might cave in or I could wait for the effect parts variant coming up. Any suggestions?

Mine's got the mismatched eyes as well. Everyone Ive seen has the mismatched eyes so I can only assume thats how they wanted it, crazy as that seems. I plan on repainting the eyes on mine to match. The other thing that really bugs me is the scale. This is supposed to be the biggest Godzilla ever so why not make i taller than the other Godzillas in the line? I mean heck they made the 64 Godzilla smaller so why not?
Great review as usual! I was tempted to get this figure, but I personally was not a big fan of the fact that the sculpt wasn't movie accurate. It does look like a very well done figure as usual by S.H., but I think i'm perfectly happy with my NECA figures. Once again, great review and looking forward to your future videos!

Great review! I was wondering how you wrapped the tail around in front during the shots in the beginning. Then I realized it's the crater effect parts. hehe. The giveaway policy is quite extensive, I see why you defer from doing it.

Fantastic review!! I got mine today and the eyes and teeth are fine. Sometimes initial figure runs from various companies have QC issues that get corrected as they continue. However, the arms and feet come off too easily during basic posing. This is my first SHMA figure and I hope to get others like the "Birth" Godzilla.

I know it seems everybody does them, but I don't want to risk my channel. RUclips has been handing out strikes at random over this. They are not applying their rules fairly to everyone. I still plan to pick up the 12" NECA, but not right now. X-Plus is putting out a lot of figures right now that I need to pick up.

I like that you showed off the Neca one with it. I own the Neca one. It's hard for me to want to pick up the monsterarts figures just do the the price. I do love them so much but I'm happy that the states have one they can pick up that's still pretty good.

Is absolutely fantastic you’re favourite word
There are a few issues with these. For example on mine the left shoulder is wonky and one of the spikes chipped off. Now it's only like millimeter at most but to us collectors it is kind of noticeable. Plus when posing it the top torso popped off along with the very end of the tail section. I knew it was delicate so that's why I bought 2 but that shouldn't be the case. I was considering buying the poster variant but considering these issues the third party:import price of $200 isn't worth it. However I might cave in or I could wait for the effect parts variant coming up. Any suggestions?

Mine's got the mismatched eyes as well. Everyone Ive seen has the mismatched eyes so I can only assume thats how they wanted it, crazy as that seems. I plan on repainting the eyes on mine to match. The other thing that really bugs me is the scale. This is supposed to be the biggest Godzilla ever so why not make i taller than the other Godzillas in the line? I mean heck they made the 64 Godzilla smaller so why not?
Great review as usual! I was tempted to get this figure, but I personally was not a big fan of the fact that the sculpt wasn't movie accurate. It does look like a very well done figure as usual by S.H., but I think i'm perfectly happy with my NECA figures. Once again, great review and looking forward to your future videos!
