I think the funniest thing about this game is that, if you cut out all the frustrating elements like confusing damage towards enemies as well as fall damage, this game is VERY easy. AVGN himself stated that it's not challenging as it is poorly-made.
Honestly the concept of playing as a dorky assassin that delusionally thinks he's an unstoppable killing machine is neat! If the game itself wasn't borderline unplayable and the story was written to be more self aware this would have been a personal favorite.
The thing is the actual idea seems cool, a “vampire” assassin game where you are constantly reincarnated, but they executed it horribly, I could see it being a Doom type game
It looks like they took the Gungrave: Overdose from PS2 character and remodeled it for the game. He moves and acts a lot like Brandon Heat from Gungrave for the PS2.
Drake of the 99 Dragons makes Enter the Matrix look like a masterpiece. Honestly, I do like Enter the Matrix quite a bit, despite the game being objectively mediocre.
Enter the Matrix blew me away when I first played it, but I was super into the movies at the time. The gameplay is still fun, replayed it on an emulator recently lol
The thumbnail reminds me of that “Morbius sweep” meme and I like to imagine that if Drake released today, it probably would’ve had a similar following Well, probably not :/

If you thought Drake of the 99 Dragons made you physically ill then I highly recommend you play Balan Wonderworld.
Balan Wonderworld is nowhere near as bad as Drake Of The 99 Dragon’s, at least it works and is more competently made than this game.
