Trading News With Exotic Options
One potential answer to capturing a breakout in volatility without having to face the risk of a reversal is to trade exotic options. Exotic options generally have barrier levels and will be profitable or unprofitable based on whether the barrier level is breached. The payout is predetermined and the premium or price of the option is based on the payout. The following are the most popular types of exotic options to use to trade news releases:
Double one-touch option
One-touch option
Double no-touch option
A double one-touch option has two barrier levels. Either one of the levels must be breached prior to expiration in order for the option to become profitable and for the buyer to receive the payout. If neither barrier level is breached prior to expiration, the option expires worthless. A double one-touch option is the perfect option to trade for news releases because it is a pure non-directional breakout play. As long as the barrier level is breached-even if the price reverses course later-the payout is made.
A one-touch option only has one barrier level, which generally makes it slightly less expensive than a double one-touch option. The same criterion holds-the payout is only made if the barrier is breached prior to expiration. This is a good option to buy if you actually have a view on whether the number will be stronger or weaker than the market's consensus forecast.
Unplanned Forex News
Sometimes the unpredictable nature of the society we live in means things happen, things that move markets.
This section encompasses all other high impact Forex news releases that you may or may not find on your economic calendar.
Important Examples: Political speeches, central banker speeches, terrorist attacks
How often: Sporadic
An example may be the US president stepping up to the microphone at a campaign rally for an off-the-cuff announcement of an economic stimulus package. This has the potential to send the US Dollar soaring as fiscal policy affects demand.
Another more sober example, is a terrorist attack. If a bomb goes off in a busy underground station, panic soon spreads to markets as traders price in the probability of economic slowdowns and the uncertainty of war.

Its just that news dont move thst much now for straddle hardly you will see 32-38 pips majority times in nfp itself others may dont even cross 20 pips and some just hit both stoploss and gives no move bigger than 20-23 pips .so risking 1:0.5 or less isnt worth ,and for correction strategy the market if gives this mich pip movement you cant expect correction bigger than 5-10 pips or moves in the same direction as impact ,.so news trading is dead. Dont expect 70-100 pips and you will capture 40 pips with 20 pip straddle
