Amy, I am a Christian too but struggle with worrying, not just worrying, but actually catastrophysing. If you figure out a way to stop, please let us know. I know what the Bible says, but I can’t seem to control my mind.
It’s so easy to read what the Bible says, but it can be so hard to put it into practice. Right!?!? Ugh. I think I sort of alluded to this, but I think it all comes down to prayer. Philippians 4 seems to say that if we keep laying those thoughts and concerns at his feet in prayer that somehow a peace will come over us. I have experienced that on occasion when I’ve really given up trying to fix things on my own and just begged God to take care of it. But his answers aren’t always fast, so I think that’s where the encouragement that follows in that chapter to think about good things while we wait is another key. There are times when I go down a rabbit hole, especially when I think about my Mom’s Alzheimer’s and I force myself to just stop and think about something else. I have the hardest time during my work commute where I’m alone with my thoughts. I also find listening to Christian music helps me. Specifically Toby Mac’s Help is on the Way. Amy, I feel something is off in mgt adding a non paying “helper” to your solo position. It wasn’t said to train you. Don’t need to answer, but think was there a heads up, and if so who’s to come up with the plan of Action, what was he told, and what were you told. I’m sorry you’ve been placed in this situation. He’s got nothing to lose job wise. As Christians hopefully God did have a plan for both of you to Fulfill your personal goals. Fortunately God has blessed you with many talents, and integrity. With our world situation, I would take things day by day. Pray for the best for yourself, and keep open minded for what God May have in-store for you.
