I also remember them saying it could stretch from Earth to Heaven, it also ways over 17,000lbs and maintains it's weight no matter the size it changes to.
Dragon Ball series was very much influenced by Journey to the west, Wu Kong aka the monkey king is a character on whom Goku is based on, you'll see lots of stuff from Journey to the west influences in Dragon ball series and Wu Kong's influence on Goku, Goku early on in dragon ball wielding a staff and flying on Nimbus is a clear nod to Wu Kong, you can even see Wu Kong in this gameplay on the flying cloud. Wu Kong is also a shapeshifter which is why you can see him changing forms so often in the gameplay.
The end isnt even the end of Wukongs tale. It is literally nearly the early chapters of his life, challenging the gods. This is so epic to those who are familiar with Journey to the West literature.
to some who don't know, Son WuKong is a character from a Chinese myth novel 400 years ago called Journey to the West. In the myth, some of his powers include riding clouds, transforming (72 forms), that magical staff he wields can lengthen and shorten, he also hides it in his ears when it's tiny. When he tears off strands of his hair, each strand can turn into a clone of himself. Oh, and let's not forget he can freeze people with words. that's all i remember for the moment. but he's pretty dope!! lots of animes are inspired by him and his story Journey to the West. Like Goku from Dragonball is pretty much WuKong (Goku is WuKong in Japanese), Naruto's shadow clones, the nine-tailed fox, Sandaime's transformation... are all inspired by WuKong.
The guide is 土地公。 a lower god who protect the land that he belong to. Every place has a 土地公. And they are different things . This guide is a genuine 人参 not potato. He made hounds of years training and become a god at last that’s how 土地公 become.
Per the original novel, Wukong's staff could change in size per Wukong's will so he would shrink it to the size of a needle and put it into his ear. You can see after he defeated the wolf boss that he pinched the needle out of the ear and it turned into the suitable size of a staff. (Btw I've always wondered ever since I was a kid how Wukong managed to prevent the needle penetrating the ear drum lol)
@@terryzhou3744 He draw his weapon from the hair not his ear, his hair possesses magical properties like the capability of summoning clones of himself, or turn into various weapons, animals and other objects. You're right that he shrink the size of his weapon into a needle but not into his ear, he tuck it behind his ear and his hair grow infinity
The developers were so humble when they got such a great reaction by the world. They apologized for some parts not being as good as they wanted to be. But wow!! The gameplay was amazing.
Fun fact: Goku is Japanese pronunciation of Chinese characters "Wukong" Haruman is from Hindu mythology. He's a different character from Wukong, who is a character in a Chinese novel written hundreds of years ago. The only similarity is that they're both supernatural monkeys.
Hanuman is the buddhist sun wu kong in chinese literature Hinduism and buddhism both came from india and hindu gods became Buddhist gods by buddhist , so Hanuman is basis for sunwukong , like Batman is the basis for Knightwing in marvel comics, hyperion (marvel) is based on superman. India and china have trade relationship for 1000's of years yet china is unfriendly even today
@Sarthak: Thank you brother, my bad. @Girish: I'd be more inclined to think that if there is some similarity in the tales. However, origins are different, looks are different, powers are different, adventures are different -- everything is different. Where is the Hindu equivalent of Wukong's other companions? E.g. Pigsy, Sandy, Dragon-horse, etc? No parallels at all; it is completely reasonable to suppose that Wukong was independently created and it is also completely correct to say Hanuman and Wukong are two completely different characters. Grimlock in Transformers is not thought to be basis of Barney the dinosaur...even though they are both dinosaurs. Anyway, this has nothing to do with the friendliness between the 2 countries, especially between the peoples and not the governments.
@@natn41r the tale of Ramayana specifically the Hanuman episodes spread from Thailand, Cambodia to Tibet and China and in Sun wukong form spread to Japan and Korea through Buddhism, not only hanuman but other gods as well thorough buddhist spread to china, japan and korea. Chinese government through the cultural revolution tried to destroy all the religious practices and statues of god and its history so people created novels to keep their traditions also pigsy and sandy are demons ie asuras not all asuras are bad like the example in Hinduism is Mayasur, the father in law of Ravanasur, who is an architect like vishwakarma or even his counterpart in asura. Even in journey to the west the monkey king fight a general bull demon like the risbasura in Krishna childhood, Ramayana and mahisasura in Durga sutras.
@Harshdeep Singh Achilles=surya deva putra karna , suryadev is apollo, sita = gaia, the earth godess, even before Alexander of Greek, we had trade relations with greeks , Romans, and Germanic people during the indus-saraswati valley civilization. Their are shivaling found in turkey regions, in russia near Serbia region also gaja Lakshmi statue is unearthed. These statues are 4000 yrs old used by your traders who did puja to these statue and from them local might get some stories about them, if the like it they also worship it even change the narrative to their local area, same way hanuman stories spread to SE Asia from where it spread to China and then to Japanese, sun wu kong stories are created after it was sinonized ie changed to that time china culture which is buddhism. In Srilanka vishnudev is worshiped as protector of buddha, along with Indra dev , same is bishoten and bishemon in japanese gods of buddha, since buddhist took hindu gods as their god like Indra, varuna, agni, vayu, ganesha, murugan, shiva, sakti, lakshmi, saraswathi, etc. They may have different names for it but the basis is the same. Ex, marvel hyperion is based from dc superman, nightwing from dc batman, enchantress from dc wonderwoman, etc.
I guess i'm not surprised you're not as impressed as many in the gaming community are. You're missing the context behind it. This is the first real foray into a large scale AAA single player, story based action game with super crisp visuals (including fluid animations and vfx) from China, that is on par with jewels from the west like Sekiro in terms of gameplay and polish. This is a foundation step from a game studio in China (that is comprised of ex-Tencent staff) that is developing games that aren't incentivized by sucking their players' wallets dry. This is a big thing. The west has serious competition from the East now if other studios take note and go down the same road.
If you have watched gameranx reaction, he mentioned that trailers of games that are not even half complete are many times mostly vfx work and not actual gameplay... If they had already completed so much work then why is it releasing almost 3 years from now?
@@abhi-_- How familiar are you with the process of game development? Whatever you've seen in the trailer and gameplay footage so far has been worked on by only a team of 12. Yes, 12. They are actually recruiting right now so they can do more at a faster pace. In comparison, on average, a AAA game studio has over 200-300 employees working on their titles. Please don't comment (especially if you consider gameranx relevant) unless you have context on wtf you're talking about. Now beat it.
@@Sykretts and how many days did they(12) take to reach this stage? Just curious.. and what engine is it based on? Cuz I don't think they would have made their own(though it looks different)... And I don't understand how just 12 people were able to put so many and detailed action-animations for the character... I'm just little skeptical but if this is a real gameplay footage, good luck to them...
@@abhi-_- Not sure how long it took them to prepare the demo and the parts at the endgame for the footage, although I heard from another video that it was close to 3 years in development on this idea. They're using the unreal 4 engine for this. Also yes, it is possible, given time, that a very small team can bring out a massive AAA project with multiple facets. World Of Warcraft originally only had 18 people in it's development team, which includes animators, designers, devs, etc. That team has grown to 400+ now. Next time you're negative/skeptical about something, at least do the bare minimum research on it mate?
That’s not actually “potato” but a god of earth, that’s why he comes from ground, he watches the black earth of ancient China. Not a powerful and essential deity. That’s why he calls himself “little god”, it’s a humble address to substitute for “I” here, usually a oneself call. But he provides intelligent advice for Sun Wukong a lot when he on his journey to west with his master Tang Monk and two junior follow apprentices , Sha Seng and Zhu Ba Jie.
Akin Khoo oh my dear, ignorance is not horrible, what really horrible is that not just don’t admit it and also show off it, and narcissistically insist ignorance and childish opinion
His staff can change in length and width as he pleases his gourd can seal monsters His armour has a soul in it which protects him at all time The last parts were that he was fighting gods from heaven
One of the things I really appreciate about this is that the translation of the initial story intro is absolutely top notch. Far more often than not, when you get mobile games out of China, they're in full on 'Engrish', sometimes to the point of unplayability. This was full on, idiomatic English, and it was super impressive. If they pay that much attention to detail to the rest of the game (and based on the trailer, it looks like they do), this is going to be EPIC!!!
The Monkey King possesses immense strength; he is able to support the pressing weight of two celestial mountains on his shoulders while running "with the speed of a meteor". He is also extremely fast, able to travel 108,000 li (54,000 kilometres (34,000 mi)) in one somersault. Sun also knows the 72 Earthly transformations, which allow him to transform into various animals and objects. Sun Wukong is a skilled fighter, capable of defeating the best warriors of heaven. His hair possesses magical properties, capable of summoning clones of the Monkey King himself, and/or into various weapons, animals, and other objects. He has demonstrated partial weather manipulation abilities as well, and can stop people in place with fixing magic.
Correction: the 72 earthy transformations are not limited to 72. He can change to anything except for the Buddha and the Jade Emperor. The 72 comes from the spells and skills he has.
The developer said that they haven't even gave their best to make this 13 min gameplay. So this isn't even their final form. Also they need developers to complete the project as they really don't have that many that's why they put out this so people would show up for development.
Hanuman and WUKONG are different, Wukong is said to be born from earth(a rock) he was blessed with magic such as body transformation, clones (just like naruto). His staff is also magical, it can be as long and short as the monkey king wishes. Wukong is called, the saint equal to heavens. He is a part of Chinese mythology.
Hanuman is from the Vedas and it stretched all over Asia, even Indonesia who is now a Muslim country but before they believed in the Vedas. Garuda, Vishnu and also Rama, Sita and Hanuman.
I don't know if you're aware, but in the UK there was a TV show called Monkey in the early 80s, based on the legend of Tripitaka. My friends and I used to watch it and then try out the moves the next day in school. (Yes I'm that old). Seeing this game is like seeing my childhood brought to life. If you ever get the chance, check it out. It's cheesy as hell, but it's fun.
Chinese mythology is a very complex system. I can explain the basic concept of the chinese mythology. First the structure of chinese pantheon. Chinese traditional mythology is called Taoism. But after Buddhism come to China, it got absorbed by Chinese pantheon. The supreme god king governing heaven in taoism is jade emperor. But the one who created the universe was the ancient titan pangu. Pangu died from exhaustion soon after he creates the universe. The jade emperor and three pure one control most of the universe after him. They assigned king Yama to govern the underworld. Four great dragon kings to govern the sea. But they all pledge loyalty to jade emperor. Great goddess Nuwa creates humanity after the creation of the world. Buddha is technically the most powerful entity after the death of pangu. Because Buddhism believe he is one with universe. Therefore both Buddhism god and taoism god show respect to each other, and often work together. Second is the power structure of chinese mythology. The biggest difference between Chinese mythology and western mythology. Is the fact that in Chinese mythology, mortal can become god by practicing taoism or Buddhism. Which many western mythology can’t. This gives people more hope and give them reason to study taoism and Buddhism. However this freedom also give birth to demon(yaoguai). In chinese the concept of demon is not the same as west. Chinese demon were once mortal creatures who practiced Taoism or Buddhism. They use the power in evil way and became corrupted. This goes for animal too. Both human and animals have possibilities of becoming demon. That’s why in journey of west there are tiger demon or fish demon. Due to the fact all demon Practice taoism or Buddhism. In chinese mythology demon are considered very intelligent beings. Also most demon aim to become god, because in chinese mythology gods are the final stage of evolution. Now we can talk about monkey king wukong and journey of the west. Monkey king is the hero in chinese mythology. He’s just like Thor in Norse mythology or Hercules in Greek. Monkey king was loved by chinese people. But monkey king wasn’t a righteous figure when he first appeared. Monkey king was a stone monkey who came from the magical stone of goddess nuwa. He was a trickster and a morally neutral existence. He soon became the king of monkeys and learn taoism under a great Taoist saint. During the process he learn immortality and become so powerful that almost no god can beat him. After he gain such strength, he went to the dragon king palace and acquired weapons and armor. Went to underworld and delete his name from book of death. He soon make alliance with demon kings in the mortal realm. Making him one of the greatest demon king in existence. When jade emperor discovered this, he give wukong a job in heaven. Which wukong gladly accept. But jade emperor still didn’t quite understand how strong wukong is. So he give him a position as stable boy for taming heavenly horses. Wukong feels extremely humiliated. So he quit the job and give him self the title of great sage equal to heaven in revenge. Heaven sees wukong’s refusal of the job as an insult. But after long discussion, they give wukong the title of great sage equal to heaven and invite him once more to live in heaven. As guardian of immortal peach garden. But monkey screw up his job again, because he end up eating all the peaches and even steal some pills of immortality. That finally angered the jade emperor. He dispatched the entire army of Heaven to arrest wukong. Monkey king was unrivaled in power even for gods. Only the great warrior god Erlang could fight him in equal strength. They eventually did capture the monkey through trap, but can’t find any way to kill him. Because he’s so bloody immortal, nothing can hurt him. He eventually break loss again and causing even greater havoc in heaven. Jade emperor finally calls the buddha himself to fix the problems. Buddha being the strongest beings in existence, easily subdue wukong, and trap him under a magical mountain. 500 years later Buddha send a chinese monk name Xuan Zang to retrieve the holy scripture from India. He choose wukong as one of monks body guards. Finally wukong was freed from the prison. But this time he humbly protect the monk in his journey to the west. During the process he starts to respect the monk. Also becoming a more humble and righteous person. He eventually was reworded by the Buddha and become a Buddha himself.
That's him, who he was or the legend he will become. This is an inwards journey as much as it is an outward one. The mythology and lore of Wukong is an awesome and lengthy one that dates back hundreds of years.

Guys, it hit me when Jaby mentioned Goku, I do remember Dragon Ball was based on the story of 'The Journey to the West". Goku has a magic staff that can grow big and long and he rides on cloud, has a tail and turn into a big monkey just like Wukong. Also Wukong is a deity, some Chinese do pray to Wukong.
This is info. for people Don't about Journey to the west novel 16th century. I know china copied a lot other but not this one. He know all this abilities before all this below: Journey to the west inspired dragon ball if there no Wu Kong there will not be goku with staff and tail. About the shadow clone Wu Kong know this abilities way before made Naruto. Fight giant god like God of War. Wu Kong himself can turn into giant and fighter gaint as well. unless God of War novel made before 16th century idk then you claimed it. other thing you guy said game style similar GOW, GOT, DS, and etc. Yes, I agree but He had all this abilities before all this game made.
Evolution no, wukong is part of the mythology, and the methodology has nothing to do with Hinduism. Trying to gather all the credits to your culture doesn’t get people interested in your culture.
Evolution Don’t argue like an uneducated moron. let’s skip all the cliches and personal attacks. I wonder what facts you are talking about? The so called fact that the methodology started with Hinduism? lol. Then by the same logic, I can say nuclear bomb started with gunpowder, therefore all credits goes to Ancient China, Which is not true at all. What you were saying sounds like the guy who can’t contribute to the team, yet trying to say things that make himself look better. No one really cares about the quiet guy who can’t help.(sounds like Indian culture, doesn’t matter you are Indian or not) let’s see if you can reply with some useful information.

The Monkey King was influenced by the Hindu deity Hanuman from the Ramayana., via stories passed by Buddhists who traveled to China. Monkey King's origin story includes the wind blowing on a stone, whereas Hanuman, the Hindu Monkey-God, is the son of the God of Wind.

For who didnt know. In the story of wukong( i mean a real story, not in this game), he’s just a one of 4 monkeys like that, and wukong is the weakest one. It got more and more information about them, nice react!!!
Monkey King has two versions of himself and if you watch his movies and shows you will get to know that he is having a dark side of himself which he is always conflicted by.....
It's worth noting that there are actually four spiritual primates, though only Wukong, also known as the Intelligent Stone Monkey, and the Six-Eared Macaque, the dark side you mention, are the ones that matter to the Journey to the West.
Hmmm....So basically this game takes on a quite famous dark theory centers around a chapter where Wukong face a 6-eared macaque (a very formidable magic monkey who can copy cat EVERYTHING). But instead of what really happened in the book and the show, the game makes a dark what-if turn where this doppelgänger actually defeats Wukong, stole Wukong’s destiny, and became a false buddha... I like that. But now Inam terrified of what happened to Wukong’s master and his two friend 😰
I'm late to this showing--man, am I glad I clicked on your video, as it looks awesome! I don't know the Chinese names of Wukong's cloud (the thing he was flying on) or his staff (which is as long as he needs it to be), but he and these things are featured in Akira Toriyama's adaptation of this story, which he named Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball is mishmash of ideas that is rooted in Journey to the West and Superman, though he borrowed a lot of ideas from various other Hollywood movies like Terminator. If I'm not mistaken, many of the Chinese characters used in Dragon Ball relating to characters in the story and weaponry, that are also shown in Wukong's story, are the same in Dragon Ball, albeit read in Japanese. I cannot read Chinese, but Sun Wukong is 孫悟空 which is read as Son Gokuu in Japanese. Kintoun, the cloud he rides on looks like this 筋斗雲 , again, I have no idea how to read it in Chinese, but I assume the same characters are used, but of course have a very different pronunciation. And his enchanted staff, which he does store in his ear is called nyoibo in Japanese and looks like this 如意棒. Dragon Ball is quite different from its source material, but surely you can see some similarities. Wukong or Monkey, as Achara called him, is a very skilled martial artist. If memory serves, he's supposed to be the best there is. He's trickster god, which is likely why he changes into things like a locust and his opponents. Son Gokuu does none of that, though he is the best martial artist in the story. Akira Toriyama's version of Gokuu is pure hearted like Superman. Like Richard Donner's Superman, who has two personas (the strong confident hero Kal-El and Clark Kent, the naive and awkward working man), Akira Toriyama followed suit with Gokuu. When Gokuu is fighting he is sure of himself and damn near unbeatable, but when he's amongst his family and friends or out in society, he is awkward to say the least. Gokuu's journey to enlightenment, to be the strongest martial artist there is, is more in line with Wukong's story, but his personality is more in line with the 80s version of Superman. Anyway, if you're familiar with early Dragon Ball and found that story fun, you'll likely see similarities in this story and might like it a lot too. I cannot wait to play this game. The 2010 Playstation game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is more likely in line with this game, as it is Wukong's story albeit it in a more modern setting. For anyone who likes the character Wukong and wants to play him in a video game, Enslaved is a lot of fun! Andy Serkis had a huge hand in that game, he did the motion capturing for the lead and he provided the voice too. This game looks like fun, and I cannot wait to play it =) EDIT: Jaby, Regarding Wukong's stance and movement, I think this is a stylistic choice. I think the game creators made it a point to make the native language Chinese, not English. I think they wanted to make it clear from that point that what follows isn't going to be like anything you're used to or seen before. Wukong is magical, as is the world he lives in. Everything is epic, not ordinary, so it makes sense for their movements to be extraordinary too. At the end of the day, I think this game is meant to look like Chinese fiction, which I think they captured beautifully. It isn't meant to look like action as we often see it shown in Hollywood movies, but more like action shown in Chinese martial arts classics. Oh, I'm pretty sure the old man we saw at the beginning setting up the story is Wukong, but I guess we'll all have to wait and see to be sure.
You should watch to the end of that trailer because that soundtrack will made us (Asian people) goosy. That soundtrack in the TV show we watched in childhood.
i think this is the early life of sun before he gets stuck at the mountain , the last part is probly when he went rampage at heaven then got punished by bubbha, such a good story tho hehehe
The game is based on Sun Wukong, the strongest of the Chinese gods. Goku is based on him. The game is also kinda important because it’s one of the few triple A games from China, and it’s got good graphics and an interesting concept to boot.
Journey to the west is very epic and the monkey king and its powers are very interesting I would definitely recommended that, and GOKU was inspired THE MONKEY KING

This hero has already revolutionised the battle arena strategy games !
Why here is another WUKONG? Here I wanna add some background and true hidden stories about WUKONG. 1,The true and false Monkey King is a chapter of Journey to the West, because the disobedient Wukong had a conflict with Tang Seng and knocked him down. However, in the the book, it is said that fake Wukong was the one who defeated Tang Seng, and no one can tell who is the real and who is the fake. Their combat effectiveness is also the same, and they even have the same weapon-the golden hoop. In the end, the Buddha distinguished the real Wukong and the real Wukong killed the fake Wukong. But here are 2 main explanations or real stories the book didnot tell. First, The real Wukong was killed, and the fake Wukong continued to travel west. I will explain why there are such stories later. Second, there is only one Wukong in the whole story, but Wukong himself has contradictions. It is his own submissive side that killed his own rebellious side. Now, I will explain why have such explanations and what WUKONG means for Chinese people. Wukong was born from a stone between heaven and earth, without father and mother. His dream is to lead his monkeys to live happily in Huaguo mountain and hope to live forever, so he went to hell and tore up the book of life and death which means They can live forever. But this was not allowed by Gods, so he fought with one hundred thousand heavenly soldiers (this is the battle scene at the end of this video), and he was arrested. At last, he began his journey to the west. It is hard to tell the whole story here. But the birth of Wukong represents a lawless person who resists the gods and pursues absolute freedom. He does not harm others, but he is still controlled and restricted by the gods. He wants to break all the rules and restrictions on him. So, here is why Budda and gods wanna kill the true WUKONG, because they represent the rules and restrictions. Some people say that this book is a story of a child growing up and becoming a man. This is a good ending. Some people say that this is a tragedy, it is a story of us being assimilated and domesticated by society and rules. We were both Wukong when we were young, but as we grew up we discovered that we were restricted by various rules even if we did not authorize them to restrict us. In the end we had to become a part of this society, just like Wukong finally became a Buddha, that is the job given to him in this system. Why does the old man in the video cry? I guess he is the old Wukong, and the true hero finally became an obedient "Buddha", but he still miss the other him----the true hero of his monkeys. It's like we have become a member of society, but the real we are actually the "wild monkey", we still yearn for absolute freedom, unfettered, just like a running wild monkey. 2, all the abilities and skills in the game are real abilities WUKONG have. His weapon is hidden in his ears because The golden hoop can be bigger and smaller. 3,The surname of WUKONG is SUN, the same with the author of: The Art Of War. 4, The cloud is actually his fly machine which given by his master. Finally, my english is not very good, so I have no ability to tell the essence and spirit of this story. There is too much true meaning hidden in the story about us and about society. If you want to understand this story, I suggest you read this book, and then read other people's interpretations or the dark side Journey to the West. You will understand the true meaning of the whole story. We have all become part of society, but I hope that "Wukong" in our hearts will exist forever. As long as it exists, we will never be defeated by society.
You have explained this beautifully. I always thought that the book already told the story of the end of the fake Wukong. I didn't know that there are the other sides of the story.
thats a good explanation.. i watched this movie about wukong like journey to the west, where the actor playing wukong was dicky cheung.. the story itself is not much difference from what u explained above but there is only 1 wukong tho.. theres another monkey god called tungpei or something (dunno what they call them in english or in chinese) that act as one of their adversary.. but yeah, i never know the real story that there are actually 2 wukongs (the true and the false Wukong), only watch from the movie.. Born from a rock in mount huaguo, learn to be a god in the jade palace but rebelled and ate the fire pill so he has some x-ray vision where he can detect shapeshifting demon, ransack the underwater kingdom and stole the staff that keep the ocean calm.. fought against heavenly army and the Buddha imprisoned him in a Five Fingers Mountain until TanXuanzhang rescued and took him as his disciple and thus begin the Journey to the West..
@@PikasPika oh i see thanks.. this six eared macaque in this movie out of jealousy (he is mad that why wukong can get the Sutra even after doing so many bad deeds) challenged and defeated wukong in a contest where the winner will accompany Tan Xuanzhang to the west.. eventually wukong defeats him tho..
Dragon Ball is based on Journey to the West, one of the 4 most famous Chinese novels. Goku, the Japanese anime character is based off of Sun Wu Kong, the beautiful monkey king. The staff, the Nimbus mount are all based off of the novel. Heavy Buddhism and Taoist elements are in Journey to the West, which makes it great but it’s not really understood well, ever, by foreigners due to the culture gap.
- Dragonball was inspired by The journey to the west from China Mythology. Sun Wukong riding a cloud to travelling and transforming to a giant monkey were also one of his mythology. All of this already exist in the Sun Wukong mythology even far before Dragon Ball story appeared. - Sun Wu Kong is his name. - Sun Wu Kong has so many transformation ability better than anyone. He can transforn into many things even person or creatures. - The "potato head old man" who guide him was the god of the earth. One of the gods in the chinese mythology. These gods position are under the Buddha him self. - His unique armor are based to the mythology it self. Some of Tv live series of chinese journey to the west also shows him wear the same armor type. Its not a new thing in Asia. - the enemies in the clouds he fight in the end of video were Heavenly Armies. Sun Wukong were in the heavenly Palace region.
The Lord of the Land is a mountain god. There is a Lord of the Land in every mountain. Although he is a god, he is only a lower-level local god official. He cannot leave the mountain to which he belongs. He does not have powerful abilities, so he provides some useful information. For the Monkey King, because the temple on this mountain was burned down by intruders, it reflects the hair on his head and see if it looks like a burned tree.
you can tell these two have absolutely no clue about anything regarding the journey to the west, about how son wukong can shrink things and put it in his ear, how he was bound by buddha with a golden circlet that would shrink and give him a skull shattering headache every time he gave in to his vices (any of the seven deadly sins) and to protect tang seng on the journey to retrieve the buddhist scriptures from the west and return east, how he has a divine staff that was one of the sacred pillars that propped the jade palace aloft in the heavens (which is why it can literally extend to the heavens), how he could transform into any of the demons he defeated (most demons took the shape of anthropomorphized animals) eventually amassing 72 forms, how the vestiges of the circlet would torment him even after it was eventually removed, about how he was betrayed by his shadow who impersonated him and stole all of his divine treasures, and how his shadow would steal the honor to become the victorious fighting buddha, and that it was all a conspiracy by buddha to be rid of a prankster who only gained immortality by defiling the sacred divine peach tree in the jade palace.
"How long is his staff?!"
Answer: As long as he wants it to be.
According to the original novel, it can extend up to forty feet in length.
@Raphael Perry In the novel his staff extends all the way to Heaven, so.. Yeah
Yeap, the 5 glowing characters says the "golden staff that acts based on your wish". So he can literally will it to be any length.
I also remember them saying it could stretch from Earth to Heaven, it also ways over 17,000lbs and maintains it's weight no matter the size it changes to.
Yes! That stick could get not only longer and shorter but also thicker and thinner!
A man of culture i would u say!
Monkey King is very much influenced by Hanuman
Let's raise a glass to cheer on the opening ceremony of triple A titles from China that this game represents. Hope it shall be successful
It is. 🇨🇳☝️
"Not a potato" lol
Thanks for clarifying.
that man is correct, Wukong literally put his weapons in his ear.
Yes....for those who dont know the story, plz read "the journey to the west"
The stall goes behind the ear
He turns the staff into pencil size and keeps it behind his ear
The developers were so humble when they got such a great reaction by the world.
They apologized for some parts not being as good as they wanted to be.
But wow!! The gameplay was amazing.
They also said they will fix it to be better and going back to work. Those crazy mofos
@Abhay Shah Then what hanuman is
@Abhay Shah I have played raji
Fun fact: Goku is Japanese pronunciation of Chinese characters "Wukong"
Haruman is from Hindu mythology. He's a different character from Wukong, who is a character in a Chinese novel written hundreds of years ago. The only similarity is that they're both supernatural monkeys.
Its ha'n'uman not ha'r'uman
@@abhi-_- Lol that got debunked its playable and the same level has been played by IGN China in different ways than the trailer

I like the fact that it's Sun in his old age telling his own story.
Definitely him. The floating strain of robe at the end is without a doubt a nod to the feathers on his armor. Looks exactly similar.
Looks like he now became obedient and follow the path Buddhism.
I think that's the fake Monkey King.
Pretty sure the "fake" is the one your seeing in the gameplay until the end of the wolf boss fight where the real sun wukong appears
I think the protagonist is a six-ear masquerade
Waged war with the heavens by himself and only Buddha could stop him
Correction: the 72 earthy transformations are not limited to 72. He can change to anything except for the Buddha and the Jade Emperor. The 72 comes from the spells and skills he has.

Thanks☺️ helped a lot👍
That's him, who he was or the legend he will become. This is an inwards journey as much as it is an outward one. The mythology and lore of Wukong is an awesome and lengthy one that dates back hundreds of years.

You know nothing John Snow oh I meant.. Achara
Darksouls / bloodborne esk combat , looks graphically good but with 'unlrealistic' fun animations , katsuya terada's art like fantasy world, this looks interesting
Man, I can't wait until the final product is revealed and I mean if they can push UE4 and get this much power out of it, just imagine what UE5 will be able to produce once it comes out and once people start to push that to its limits. And here is the link to the English subs, meaning all of the game has English subs ruclips.net/video/jCz1kn6tTk4/видео.html
9:19 Looked like Shadow clone Jutsu 😍
Yep, however Wukong (the novel) did it first. Nauto's Shadow Clone jutsu was most definitely inspired by it. Wukong is the OG. Just saying.
@@natn41r definitely👍
God of Highschool 🔥🔥 goes ancient
Wukong the monkey King
How do y'all not know the story
It is quite legendary
that old guy is the mountain spirit Achara not an old potato
This game looks like fun, and I cannot wait to play it =)
EDIT:
Jaby,
Regarding Wukong's stance and movement, I think this is a stylistic choice.
Its probably the one were his clone goes rogue
I love the way Achara says "Potato"
God Of Highschool 🔥👍.
You should watch to the end of that trailer because that soundtrack will made us (Asian people) goosy. That soundtrack in the TV show we watched in childhood.
This is basically based on the character of Monkey King.
I think they don't know about monkey king movies because this game is inspired from that movie or fantasy
i think this is the early life of sun before he gets stuck at the mountain , the last part is probly when he went rampage at heaven then got punished by bubbha, such a good story tho hehehe
I might suggest OverlySarcastic Production, they have a video about Journey to the West where the 1st video is about Monkey/Wukong
Why there is no trailer reaction on RAISED BY WOLVES
This game black myth graphics are looks so stunning- because developer very focused in better particle works and animation
"How long is his staff?!"
In legend his staff extends or shrinks and the length it can go is idk maybe infinite if he chose that?
The game is based on Sun Wukong, the strongest of the Chinese gods. Goku is based on him. The game is also kinda important because it’s one of the few triple A games from China, and it’s got good graphics and an interesting concept to boot.
A small team in China are working on this game its only 30 people on it the trailer was for people to send Resumes to help its development
Journey to the west is very epic and the monkey king and its powers are very interesting I would definitely recommended that, and GOKU was inspired THE MONKEY KING
WU KONG is actually the copy of our hindu deity 'HANUMAN'(also black panther reference 'hail hanuman) taken by buddhists and introduced to east asia!
Yours 🙄
but more op in the final form and cooler.
Dude I am an Indian too but U shouldn't say it's a copy of Hindu mythology there are many Asia and Europe mythologies where there is symbolism of demi - humans or animals like human so we should respect every mythology as an original or if u don't want to plz just stop pasting so called tags like it's a copy.
@@tenzinakazin7588 Dude i was referring to actual buddhist references and also buddhism diverged from hinduism is not ...u should know that being an indian!
@@ck3289 ok but don't say copy. It is rude. Don't u feel rude if someone will say ur god is copied from any other mythology's god.
This hero 'wukong' is pretty popular in moba game!, almost every moba game has this hero and its origin is from the chinese mythology called "the journey to the west"..this game is typically called the next generation game, because of its amazing animations and graphics. Wukong is loved by every moba game player, he has the ability to multiply himself from his single hair(which is portrayed in the movie "the forbidden kingdom" this movie is about this hero.)...his other abilities are decivious and tricky and no emotions of worriness!!always on the jolly mood!.and this game is rising its fame even in its beta stage, because everyone wants to get their hands on this 'wukong' centric game! This hero has already revolutionised the battle arena strategy games !
12:14 to answer your question that is the flying nimbus cloud . Goku is based on Sun wukong
Second,
there is only one Wukong in the whole story, but Wukong himself has contradictions.
Damn just like our lord hanuman the god of gods- the godly monkey king
In chinese they call it 六耳猕猴 (Six Eared Macaque)
@@PikasPika oh i see thanks.. this six eared macaque in this movie out of jealousy (he is mad that why wukong can get the Sutra even after doing so many bad deeds) challenged and defeated wukong in a contest where the winner will accompany Tan Xuanzhang to the west.. eventually wukong defeats him tho..
Where is reaction of Black Adam, still waiting
Dragon Ball is based on Journey to the West, one of the 4 most famous Chinese novels.
Goku, the Japanese anime character is based off of Sun Wu Kong, the beautiful monkey king. The staff, the Nimbus mount are all based off of the novel.
Heavy Buddhism and Taoist elements are in Journey to the West, which makes it great but it’s not really understood well, ever, by foreigners due to the culture gap.
Ashes of Creation Upcoming MMORPG
Hanuman ji used a mace not a satff
And i guess the last scene where he made his staff long was where he was fighting in heaven. Cause he was said to be heaven's equal
Ryuji jingu Bang the divine staff of the immortal Sung Wukong!
Can extend to the heavens
Yay I was waiting for jaby to do this
Wukong have powers like lord hanuman
I’m sure you know this but one of the Devs actually pointed out flaws in this trailer and I believe the movement system was one of them
The Lord of the Land is a mountain god. There is a Lord of the Land in every mountain. Although he is a god, he is only a lower-level local god official. He cannot leave the mountain to which he belongs. He does not have powerful abilities, so he provides some useful information. For the Monkey King, because the temple on this mountain was burned down by intruders, it reflects the hair on his head and see if it looks like a burned tree.
yayyy, finally you watched this trailer!!
This a pre alpha build. Already very promising.
Wukung is a science fiction character which take from the monkey king movie
12th like is minee.... love Achara...♥️
It's so funny that you had to watch it again with Acharya Kirk. It was that good right. 😜😜😜😜
you can tell these two have absolutely no clue about anything regarding the journey to the west, about how son wukong can shrink things and put it in his ear, how he was bound by buddha with a golden circlet that would shrink and give him a skull shattering headache every time he gave in to his vices (any of the seven deadly sins) and to protect tang seng on the journey to retrieve the buddhist scriptures from the west and return east, how he has a divine staff that was one of the sacred pillars that propped the jade palace aloft in the heavens (which is why it can literally extend to the heavens), how he could transform into any of the demons he defeated (most demons took the shape of anthropomorphized animals) eventually amassing 72 forms, how the vestiges of the circlet would torment him even after it was eventually removed, about how he was betrayed by his shadow who impersonated him and stole all of his divine treasures, and how his shadow would steal the honor to become the victorious fighting buddha, and that it was all a conspiracy by buddha to be rid of a prankster who only gained immortality by defiling the sacred divine peach tree in the jade palace.
"Like goku?" Goku is Wukong. Wukong is the O.G
“This staff is way cooler than fiction” LoL watch/read God Of Highschool
