Jack: Does literally anything
Ryan: *and so we pitched that up an octave*
haha true
me sneezes:ACHOO
Ryan:WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN
Ryan: and then we pitched that same sound down an octave
Trumpet players😂
LMAO🤣
its strangely satisfying when you hear everyone cheering when they do the revealing start of the song
It’s such a relatable feeling though.
i smile so much when they get mentioned or they get cheered
yes!!
imagine dropping your keys and thinking make that higher pitch
imagine dropping your keys and thinkingg "do that again so i can record it"
"throw them faster at the ground jack"
Anyone notice how those shapes are resemble how Ryan described his synesthesia?
BigBadBionicBoy I was wondering how long it would take me to find that comment! When I saw it at the show I felt like I knew some insider information or something. Super cool that that’s how they did it!
where did ryan describe his synesthesia? just want to know more!
Cassi Dowd this interview- ruclips.net/video/XcT_PUmYJXE/видео.html minute 1:11:20 ish
Yep
Ryan Really just turned his Synesthesia into A GIFT!
Yo. They made one of their best songs because JACK DROPPED HIS KEYS! I love this band so much.
Check out how Simon and Garfunkel wrote Bridge Over Troubled Water. There's a video out there of them explaining the process of creating one of their best songs.
That audience actually sings really well.. Impressive
There had to be some actors in there
Any very large number of people singing the same song starts to blend together and sound like one sound. I once saw one guy turn an entire audience into an acapella during an orchestra
**Jack literally just dropping his keys**
Ryan: “Do that again.”
Jack: “Huh?”
Ryan: “do it”
The whole time watching this live I was trying to decypher which song they were making, and oh boy did my eyes light up when I figured it out, favorite song in the album apart from Karma!
I see you have taste
They are musical geniuses
Supuneet Singh YES
Supuneet Singh no shit Sherlock they are geniuses in song writer
TRUE!
True
no lol
Alright, so this is probably my favorite part of the show, if any of you know this, we write, record and produce our music in our living room and when we produce, we like to experiment a lot, produce with a lot of layers, try to find weird sounds you don't normally hear in music. So one day Jack fell down the stairs, and I said Jack, do that again, but this time we're gonna record it. So then I pitched it up nine octaves, gave it enough reverb to last until the end of time, and distorted it. So while Jack was in the hospital, I was messing around with it until it was the most fire shit in existence. After that, in this precise order, we added a little hi-hat, a bassline, and chords. After that, we were almost there. We just needed the most iconic melody to ever exist on this planet, and we would be done. So I was thinking about that when we heard a knock at the door. It was Jack, returning from the hospital. He was in a wheelchair, and he explained to us that he would need to use it for the next 3 months until he healed. But I needed a funny melody, so I grabbed him out of the wheelchair, set him down on the ground, and defenestrated the wheelchair. I recorded the whole thing, and it sounded amazing, so while Jack was writhing in agony, I fucked around with it for the next 3 days without sleep until it would make you cry with joy upon hearing it. Then I put it in the song, and that's how we made "The Cheez-itz song". Thank you, either NYC or Austin, Texas, for appreciating the fact that we write, record and produce our music in our living room and when we produce, we like to experiment a lot, produce with a lot of layers, try to find weird sounds you don't normally hear in music. Bye!
Lol, underrated song
this had me crying 😭😭
So one day, a serial killer came in and stabbed jack in the stomach. Then i told the killer, do that again but this time we are going to record it. Then we pitched that up an octave,
@@xaviervillagran1926 no it’s not over rated,this is a masterpiece
im laughing SO hard thanks
Ryan is just flatlining and AJR is just like “boost that up an octave real quick”
3:05 I started getting really excited. This was the first song I ever heard from them.
Aw that’s nice 😊
1:05 do you know what song that is?
@@roundtable9230 it's Penny Lane by the Beatles
same
jack: *farts*
ryan: hold on, pitch that up an octave.
The first time hearing an ajr song, you hear the lyrics and the “ooohhhh” and “ahhhh” sounds.
The second time, you really are rocking out to the trumpet solos and the beats
The third time you are hearing some of the lesser known elements and hearing it all beautifully made together
The time you hear them break it down, you start hearing how they included the sound of keys dropping in one of their songs.
I know! Then you feel every single detail
The fact that they used old-timey sounds in the beat reminds me of watching Tom and Jerry or the Jetsons on boomerang as a kid.. makes this song ab growing up even sadder
i was at the concert in washington, as soon as everybody noticed the first beats of the song we started screaming
I absolutely love this song, and I adore how they do live performances, it’s on a whole other level from when they’re not live.
Yo I was at that concert and I could see myself in this video!
Cool

@@Ballsmaloney Nice
@Nathan DeJoy THATS SO COOL
3:09 is so addictive to listen to
I love how AJR does a how we made a song breakdown in their concerts
I joined the Army right out of high school and I can't describe how closely I can relate to the lyrics and leaving home for the first time. I had all my legos that I couldn't bring with me and I feel like I had this exact conversation with my parents and the emotions tied to it are EXACTLY how I felt.
He should have done the higher octave in the studio version! It sounds so good!
A year later and the goosebumps still hit hard
Jack’s wild in all the best ways
funny how a song can be made from the sound of keys falling
And door knocks
i First Heard them at a concert called Loveloud back in 2019 and this was the first song they played (or at lest the first I payed attentio to lmao). Fast forward 3 years, They're my Favorite band and I listen to them Daily.
Gosh can’t wait for them to hit the road again! I love when artists give you BTS into their producing. Jon Bellion does that all the time and it makes me love their music even more
Going to the concert in Washington DC on the 21
Same!!
Ketner Pleasants went to the one in Atlanta. Just realized this was today. Hope u had fun!
Apollo_ 909 it actually got postponed bc Jack’s got strep :(
@@peachiibee I know I learned went I got to DC at 4pm with my dad.
@@peachiibee I went the Highat house hotel
I don't know why but I thought this is good to see at Christmas today
I love how jack just vibes to the song while he’s waiting
I love this song so much, Its so relatable and hits hard
They are inspiring me to make my own songs. I hope I'll get to meet them someday on the music industry!
don't throw out my legos is just about my favorite ajr song!!!! heard this live on their oko concert, life-changing dude 🤩
AJR: Don't Throw Out My Legos
RUclips: Finale (Can't Wait To See What You Do Next)
何度聴いても飽きない名曲 背景に楽譜がでるなんて、たまんないよね
oh yeah, I was there... nothing big (>ᗜ
ooo that moment tho, especially hearing the trumpet kick in
This sounds so much better than on spotify
holy... I had no thoughts about this song but god this instantly made me love it like mad
Here to relive some memories, I was at this exact show and I can’t believe they did all this for my favorite song! Still my favorite to this day
Didn't they already talk about the making of Don't Throw Out My Legos?
Erick Terk Yes but they wanted to include it in the Neotheater tour as well :)
Ah, 2019, what a better year than 2020 and 2021.
I literally can’t wait for 2022 now
@@FanofAJR there going to be soo close to my city
@@FanofAJR oh boy
I was there last night!!!!,
This is great
THEYRE SO GOOD, I WISH I WENT TO THEIR CONCERT
Pure talent
just good proof that music creation can come from anything!
They are so unique
That bass drop was cooler than drill X from Skylanders Giant’s
I was there in Washington :)
I love them!! I’m going to their OK concert next year my friends standing room by the stage and I’m so excited!!
i just discovered this song while looking around on my apple music- i was instantly addicted
Don't throw me out!
We won’t!
Dude, by the 2nd verse, when it said "saved up enough to rent an apartment far away from mom and dad," I started crying because I recently moved to college and I miss them so much.
pure genius
They did this for weak at a concert I was at live. Weak was the first AJR song I ever heard, it was an amazing performance.
너무 좋아요 !!❤️
머학생님 영상에 댓글 달던 분 아니에요?
The transition is beautiful as fuck
Now that I heard the base beat of this song I can't unhear it when I'm listening to it
2:23 if i were watching this live this is when i would recognize it
Ok this takes a SPECIAL ear to do this
i got a lego ad on this video lmao
Your music is so experimental and fun! You’re one of my favorite musical artist’s. ♥️
Ryans "1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, Like that!" at 2:01 is so satisfying to me T-T
oh yes
The difference between Neotheatre and OK orchestra concert quality is insane
Jack: Breathes
Ryan: Can you do that again?
And then we decided to change the music world forever
2:19 who else hears Way Less Sad?
1:04 is that BEATLES’ PENNY LANE
Haha good song
i will mash this up with way less sad in 2 years maybe and you can't stop me
I think that people that upload these should leave the name out of the title to best replicate the feel of finding out mid concert. Instead putting the title in the description that way if you want to find out that way you can check the description.
The weird thing is that I can sort of hear this in the song.
GREAT song. My mom took away my legos :((
This was so close to my birthday :( 10/19
they could make sick rap beats
Wow ajr toulitind
It sounds like way less sad
My legos how am I gonna build now
Actual song starts at 3:21
Some band should cast an entire school to go home listen to their hit song that they’re making perfect it and debuted it in a school wide music video in the auditorium with the band to the world that singing in union with the masses can be beautiful and inspire people to music who didn’t think they had the talent
i really like the minor part of the piano 2:12
Next update can apple let me turn the volume higher?
it sounds like jack is dying lolol
They also made it their most depressing song
3:22 people knew the song
I'm dumbfounded on how the youtube bots could detect a four second sample of 100 bad days and call it finale but not the entire song that followed
For a second when I read finale I thought you were talking about Finale(we can’t wait to see what you do next)
What song is that that they used for the snare?
What is the song they played a minute into the video after they “forgot about it”??
They did the same thing for bang
the people who disliked look so left out
People still watching in 2024
Can someone please tell me the name of the record they sampled??
Uhh, well the orchestra thingy with the voices was from 100 bad days
anyone know the song playing in 1:06
What is the name of the Beatles song they played???
Bro Ski’s penny lane
Penny Lane.
I thought it really sounded like nerds by bo burnham, i thought they had sampled it, thats why im here, guess im wrong🤷🏼♀️
Keys for the piano part pls
Soy el único mexicano aquí
No
No
no :)
what song? 1:04
