If you haven't yet, you should give PSMD another chance. It gets _REALLY_ good and the aggressive handholding isn't there for very long. It actually gets fairly difficult. A few fights actually kicked my ass.
Amen. I started playing the game for the first time just yesterday, even though I watched an LP of it as soon as it was released. It's not abnormal for a children's game to hold your hand at the start of the game. It's done in the case of a new player.
Even when it does hold your hand, the beginning is super hard. And it only gets harder. The second best Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game purely because it makes you use wands. It makes you use items. You will be punished if you don’t.

And I'm not exactly criticizing that as players can essentially choose their difficulty
SPMD has that "this is probably going to be the last game in the series,, Vibe so you know that they have put their all into it. I would honestly say that it doesn't stand behind any PMD if anything it is equally as good as sky!
And obviously Sky has better art direction because the animations are too stiff in super, but the portraits are still amazing. Super is more challenging (in a fun way) and the gameplay overall is a lot better.

I love the Partners theme from this game so much! As for tracks you didn’t cover that I think you should react to: A Warning to All Pokemon, Prehistoric Ruins, Road to Primeval Forest and Tree of Life Roots/Trunk. The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series has been using leitmotifs since the very first game and even as a kid I understood the idea even though I didn’t know the name for it yet. This game especially has such a wide variety of instrumentation and tempo in the tracks. Please give the game another go there are so many good tracks in this game! Such a beautiful and fun OST.

hope you decided to give the game another chance. its a slow start but once things get going, they really get going. only the beginning is really hand holdy because it introduced a lot of new mechanics to the series that are important to understand well. in previous games, while strategy was still important, it always felt like if all else failed you could just sorta stumble your way through eventually with an inventory full of revive seeds, but super mystery dungeon made me think alot harder about my attacks and what i took into the dungeons with me. the final parts of the game cut off easy access to any shops or your item bank so its a lot harder to cheese it at the end. gameplay wise its without a doubt easily the best in the series, but even storywise id put it at a solid second. some of the best music in the whole series too
This game was a super hidden gem. That final battle theme has stayed in my radar even though NONE of the rest of the game really has. I haven’t seen really any of this game since I played it when it came out in 2015 but that final boss theme keeps coming back. You all should go play this game. It’s worth it.
Bring back mystery dungeon they all deserve more love ngl, huge part of my childhood always enjoyed being a Pokémon with a best friend who went all in with you and didn't give up no matter what. Truly a special spin off series the amount of love put into these games is phenomenal. Pokémon needs to bring them back around full cowling style.

Dark Matter 02 is my favorite final boss theme of all time. There's so many reasons I love that song that I can't even explain. Edit: Forget what I said about not having an explanation. The song is so epic, so thematically perfect, so symbolic, and able to elicit an emotional response from me
Was a bit disappointed that Foreboding Forest was skipped over because it was probably my favorite dungeon theme from this game. But there's a lot of really good songs in this game obvious you'll miss some.
I found this game to be very hard after it stops with the holding hands. Which I didn't have that much of a problem completing the other Mystery Dungeon games so I don't understand why this one felt so hard to complete. Some moments I had the hardest time with were(Spoilers) The dungeons leading to Lively Town Entei boss battle The entirely of the Voidlands Yveltal Fight Dark Matter boss battle And the entire post-game
@@RednekGamurz That was absolutely the reason why. I preferred not to use the wands/staffs and the orbs. Just was never one to use those items. Then I just sometimes forget to equip a looplet as I just put everything in storage. So I most likely don't have one for an emera as it's rare to find one in a dungeon.
@@fira3296 Yeah, I have that issue with some of the previous games, but I learned to break the habit of being conservative with items with Super. Certain wands can be really helpful with getting you out of a pinch, and emeras can outright bully Pokemon. With emeras not only can you get basic stuff like dealing more damage, or taking more damage, but you can get some crazy stuff that may let you see where items or enemies are in a dungeon, or you could inflict multiple status effects on a Pokemon in a single turn. Even if you don't have a looplet, you can also use the emera to gain a slight buff to one of your stats for the duration of the dungeon.
this was pretty hard because they took a lot of previous mechanics, changed them a little and mixed them into the game, and also especially for boss battle, now seeds, negative bands or orb don't work on them anymore stoping the facility with easy strategies. But yes it was hard and I'm happy about it. and yes being conservative with item can be a problem sometimes because you start to forget them and try to get away from hard situation on your own and when you really need it you don't use them.
A little sad to see you not reacting to Tree of Life Roots, probably the second best song in all of pokemon (besides Second Dark Matter Battle) Oh yeah its crazy this was your reaction and you don't even have the flood of emotion that comes right before it in game lol
This, and abyssal badlands, calm craggy area, cave of the deep, showdown mountain as well as gentle slope cave and reverse mountain. but by far I'm baffled she didn't hear showdown with a volcanic entei.
If I make a suggestion, and it is just a suggestion, but you should try listening to the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky soundtrack, that, now that is Peek Pokémon music, period. Please.
The rock boss battle music blew me away too, especially since there are a few versions of the OG boss theme throughout the story and you start with a cute one up until that one
I personally like the theme between the two final dark matter battle themes. It's called Don't Give Up, it builds very slowly, but near the end it gets very epic, triumphant, and even a little spacey.
you interrupted some of these themes before the loop. The dark matter reborn for example, it wasn't finished yet. Always make sure to wait for the loop before interrupting any music.
Dunno whats up withher that she interrupts the songs like that or if someone gave her timestamps, if so, most of them were set too early and it does irritate viewers for cutting off some songs like that.
The entire series just is a gem, and the music is the most effective out of all games I know, except maybe Ori. There is nothing better than to have some specific scenarios from the game, to directly connect to the songs. Still cry only a few seconds into "dont ever forget", probably easy to guess why.
I feel like you tend to skip the best part of longer songs because you're worried about the content. I think it would be better to listen to the whole song and edit out the parts you think would be less interesting for the viewers. Since this in an old video maybe you've already started doing that, my bad if so.

Super Mystery Dungeon is very underrated in the series. The ost is one of the highlights for this game. Definitely worth playing through.

I agree Sky and Super are on the same level.
It has a slower start but i like that, tbh.
My two favorite games probably forever.
