Lot of fans lack critical thinking skill, eating up whatever is being fed. I'm with you Matisse. It was clear as day the new regime were trying to get rid of him even last season (remember strong Spurs link last summer). No way they make him one of the highest paid with a serious length contract.
The recent brief was carbon copy of what they did with Mount. Who himself had his own PR push and it got dirty. The regime somehow got away with that one.
Gallagher story has been totally different, it couldn't be more obvious he is as Chelsea as it can be. Also we haven't had any sort of PR stuff from his side with him like we did with Mount.
On-pitch wise he was consistently in our starting eleven last season, so if rest of his teammates are on life contracts with wages higher than him then it's fair to say he deserves no lesser. Because many of them were poorer performance wise, some couldn't even remain fit.

Gallagher for rejecting it because he wants a 5+ year deal, and the club for trying to sell him instead of losing him for free. That's just how it goes. 🤷🏽♂️

I don't care that they released the info as long as it's true. They're also not trying to keep him, they're trying to make sure they get some value out of him and that he doesn't just walk. He could absolutely sign the new deal and try to prove he's first team worthy, but seems like he wants a longer deal. If he won't sign and they need to just bury him on the bench, I'm fine with that. He doesn't want to leave, but they also don't want to keep him. Chelsea need to do what they think is best for the club, not best for Conor.

Well considering Gallagher wont be playing much so that kind of makes a hole in the argument that they will sell him for more. The club knows he wont play therefore his value wont go up. Also during the last transfer window it was put by reliable sources that he didnt want to sign a long term deal like the other players. He will pass on Atleti and be out of luck at the end of the season. If i ran a UCL team i wouldnt want him. He was benched for a teenager in the Euros.
Lukaku is the perfect example of why the new owners don't want to pay high salaries and transfer fees, when we signed him he was the most expensive transfer in the club's history and highest earner, only to see him crying his head off in an interview four months later that he wanted to go back to inter, for 2-3 years we've been trying to get rid of the guy and only went on loan for 1 season, so I can understand eggbali why there is a strict salary cap

Regarding Gallagher's issue, the owners manipulated it. Probably, the owners think that all the fans are naive. Shame on the owners and all the journalists who failed to research further into the message provided to them by the Chelsea club. What do these consider we the fans? Do they think we are fools, naive, without any critical thinking ability? All that the owners think is money and pure profit. The shameful act from the owners has been seen by all the fans.
2+1 contract with high wages could also be to see how he develops in the new system for sure they have their reservations, all we can do is speculate. Also clubs can only sell players when they are performing better otherwise no one would buy like Broja etc. There are lots of examples where clubs has sold even better players for whatever reason eg David Beckham who was not even given a chance to stay, Connor has the option.
The club has made it clear that they aren’t going to be passing on opportunities to man a profit on every player and not allow situations like Rudiger going to Madrid for free. Giving Gallagher a 5 year contract takes him to 29 years and try selling him then, if you can. Giving him a 2 plus 1 is a fair deal since every one knows they got KDH and the contract offer is a good faith gesture to say hey thank You for being an important player and I know you back your abilities to fight for your shirt as you gave done L successfully in the last two years. It’s up to Connor to take that up and show what he can do or flip out if the club. The club already lost a £57m deal. If they really offered him a 2 plus 1 at higher wages over £100k I think they have tried to be fair. Why would Gallagher insist on 5 year contract or nothing. The argument i keep hearing is he didnt cost anything. That's actually incorrect. Coz since the age of 7-8, the club has taken care of you. Provided you with everything you needed. Great pitches, top coaches, top medical assistance & top management as you get to compete against other top kids. It costs money to build facilities, hire coaches, maintain infra etc. They help you through development by competition and then send you on right loans and then give you a chance to play for the club if you're good enough.
Now, we're not Derby County, we have standards. Only elite ones will remain, others will have to move on coz we cannot win trophies with good players. We need great players. Gallaghar is a good player.

Nothing has been manipulated here. The club is clearly looking to sell him, and it's true that Gallagher rejected the contract. Both things can be correct. Chelsea would not want him to leave for free, so Chelsea offered a 2+1 contract similar to Maatsen's extension, intending to sell him later. However, Gallagher wants a 5+ year deal. There's no one trying to turn anyone against each other.
So if that's what they're doing, why would they brief for two years straight that they want to sell him?

I know it’s all PR but clearly contract extensions be it 2.5 + 1 was offered which we as fans were not aware of. I see no harm in releasing this info to us fans at this time. If it was false then Conor could come out to dispute it. If you were offered 2.5 + 1 then it’s a clear message to the player that he is not in their plans. Nothing wrong in my eyes as this is a business and business is business.
