My latest tweet: Todd Boehly needed a sporting director just as much as Thomas Tuchel did. Both put in positions they weren’t qualified for. That first summer transfer window was a mess but I wouldn’t judge Roman Abramovich without Peter Kenyon.
Latest News: Todd Boehly is believed to be considering selling his shares just over two years after he was the public face of the consortium which bought the club.
Clearlake Capital are open to buying out Boehly but they will not sell their own shares in Chelsea.

Matisse I was excited when Boehly was the guy. The way he operated things in baseball was something I was quite jealous of as a supporter of a different club. He always invested money in the top scouts to bring in young players but the primary expenditure was always acquiring first team talent to win every year. When the youth movement began at Chelsea I thought OK Cobham is great we will invest in that. It’s obvious the rest of the consortium do not operate this way and it makes me concerned for the future. People will blame Todd and I understand that but he’s the only one in the consortium that has shown any ambition and I’m not sure all of that criticism is justified for that reason. MAH, the CEO that left is someone who worked multiple times with Clearlake. They usually bring him in to do a specific job and then he leaves.
From my experience working with private equity companies, they usually bring people they know to build a business structure, once the foundation is solid that person leaves and gets replaced by a person who is good at growing the company.
The classic move is: Buy a company, bring your guys to stabilize it, once stable you bring a leader who is really good and maximizing or optimizing depending on the goal.

While Eghbali is the main culprit of all these under-25 policy while doing all the moves that will turn us into a team that can make a huge amount of money without the need of sporting success like selling clubs. It's not like both are good at what they're doing, but Boehly is more ambitious than Eghbali therefore making him the better of the two and if Eghbali (Clearlake) ended up having the ultimate control at Chelsea if not already ever since Boehly stepping away from the club, our future is doomed

Its worth noting that the summer 2022 window is NOT what Boehly's long term plan was for the club, it happened because there were no directors so he just gave Tuchel the keys for that one summer. In interviews at the time Boehly spoke about signing 18-20 years olds and developing them via a multi-club system.
Its hard to gague which way this could go. One of Clearlake/Boehly is gonna exit, and there are plausible explanations as to why either one could be bought out. Either Clearlake double down and buy out Boehly to solidify their position. Or Clearlake realise Football isn't a sound investment and decide to make a quick exit on an asset that probably won't make them any money. Clearlake do have investors they need to answer to... Can't see them being too happy with how we're looking from a making profit perspective

Football needs a commissioner. All clubs are riding a knifes edge whether its the Everton's of the world to Man City and Chelsea. The issues with the championship, ownership structures, commercial broadcast deals, player welfare/longevity, unions, stadium financing, gambling and betting, transfers, and schedules. Notice i did not mention the fans and ticket buying fans especially who create the atmosphere we come to love. Football needs a commissioner to think about all these issues and stand up to FIFA.

You’re deluded when it comes your “wage structure” 150 bags a week for 7/8 years is equivalent to 250 a week over 4 years…. What’s the difference? You’re stuck with potential bums for 7/8 years. What happens to Chelsea if there’s no EPL trophy, no CL trophy in that period is unthinkable…. Blackburn springs to mind…

Someone has to pay for the big mess and for the big failures in the last 2 years. The man who is responsible is Todd Bohely. Bad decisions and created a mess. He has no affection for the club, he has no connection with the fans and doesn’t know football. He has to go and never come back.

this just shows, the fans have been correct this whole time, not to trust this consortium. Todd wants structure, but the suits don't give a crap about our footballing potential

If Clearlake becomes the majority/only owner the only owner of Chelsea then this Brighton type project on larger scale will be the future of Chelsea.. There will be no ambition to win trophies at the start till that model becomes self sustaining and generate cash flow. And then if the owners feel like winning some trophies, then they might go for it.. Ofcourse if they accidentally get to a final then they will push for it coz it helps with PR with young players to join..

I don’t think you are properly considering Clearlake in this PSR era. Roman didn’t have to bother about PSR and Boehly’s approach was unsustainable, especially for the wage bill. You are going to need people smart with money and assets while PSR is the way it is.

    • @charlesnkomo4148

No one denies that, it's more a case of 'it's the thought that counts' when it comes to Boehly, his methods might have been unsustainable but at least he was showing his vision and intention that he wanted to maintain the standards set by Roman not to destroy everything like Clownlake have successfully done
