Very clear concise video about fixing pump impeller, replacing Condensor or having pump motor rewound where burnt out. Thank you for your insights you certainly know your onions so to speak now I'm off to fix my DAB Boar Water Pump.
This absolutely worked it was the fan which was not moving. Removed the cover and spun the fan and removed anything that was there and it worked perfectly. Had not used my motor for over 2 months.
Thank you for putting this together it's really kind of you. I had same problem thought it was the capacitor so swapped it out and it wasn't fixed. It was seized up. Few squirts of wd40 and it was good again!
I have a question. The motor hums, but the fan is not spinning freely like yours, I can rotate it but it requires a bit of effort to do so but it can spin 360 degrees, so it is not locked up. I tried your trick by manually trying to spin the motor while it's buzzing, but it does not make the pump switch on. 1) Would a new capacitor make any difference in this case? 2) Is a humming motor necessarily a sign that the motor should work in contrast to a motor that makes no sound at all, and that there is another issue on the pump housing that could keep it from running? Great informative video, by the way. Bedankt. From Belgium.
I must say thanks .. couldn't find a solution for a long time. Other videos are just "experts" who dont know anything. I helped the motor with my hand and it works... but sometimes it doesn't need help and just works. Do you recommend trying to oil with wd40 before replacing capacitor? If so where exactly to oil? Also when the pump working 24/7 it stops and make this humming sound. What your diagnosis to the above? 🙏
Hi. I'd definitely try and oil first. With the motor stopping while operating,I'd check the bearings as well. Next time it stops, feel if the motor turns freely and has no play on the shaft,up and down. If a bearing heats up it can have a lot of friction that could stop a motor. Always better to check all possibilities before paying for replacement parts!
@@p0we111 replaced the capacitor.. now seems that it's working.. i think the pump stopped because of leaves clog the drain suction line when the water level is under the skimmer suction line and then couldn't start again. Hope it'll be fine, tnx for this video man
Hi Ashraf the best way to test is to use an IRT (Insulation Resistance Tester) to see if there is a short from Live to earth or Neutral to earth. Without a IRT you can use a multimeter on Ohms setting to test any leakage to earth, but that is not always reliable. Other than that you can plug it in. If the wires and breakers are correct then it should just trip in case of an error.
Hi. It may be a thermal switch tripping when the motor gets too hot and starting when it cools down. Feel how hot the motor is to the touch. Maybe it does not turn freely....
My motor runs but its not pumping up water. Iv tried to attach the hose to it to prime it, but still not pumping water . My pump is for boar hole to water the garden.
Hi Sandyseale. Difficult to say,but Ive seen some borehole pumps that strip the coupling between the motor and pump fitting. Then the motor turns but no water is pumped. It can also just be the pump side that is damaged internally. If you are sure the motor has enough water to prime it,then you would have to inspect the pump side. Unfortunately that is the only part left if the motor is running
Hi. If you changed the capacitor and it still does not start it is probably one of the coils that has been burnt through. Make sure there are no loose wires inside the connection box. You can also open the motor up and check for a loose wires on the coils. If you opened the motor and see some of the coils are a darker color than the others, that can be you're faulty coil. It will have to be recoiled/rewired.
Hi Hardus. 9 times out of 10 it is something hitting the fan. Grass growing in or the cover that has been pushed in too far. Some have screws that has to be taken out in order to inspect, others just pop of with enough force.
This video has just helped solve a stuck motor because of rust and has saved me cash

same!!!!!
Just did this now and it worked perfectly 1st time. You've saved me some dollars. Thank you!
Bro youre amazing, after 1 month with no motor, i changed that cap and now we spinning again

I thought my pump was seized but wd40 didn't help. Thanks to this I am going to check the capacitor. Cheers.
Where did you put the wd40? On the fan? Because maybe ill try before replacing the capacitor
Thank you, Sir! I just saved 200 bucks for replacing the pump.
Thanks man, absolute legend. I live out in the bush and your video saved me at least thousand rand in call out fees.
This video is powerful. My pump was making the hummm sound, I played this video and the pump automatically started working 😮😮
😁
Watching here from philippines, thank you sir!
just fixed my pump right now. many thanks.
Thank you. You saved me at least $150
Simple and useful explation and solution to the motor problem.
Very comprehensive and detailed expo. Thanks a lot
Thank you, the video was very helpful to help fix my pump..

Hi thank you for the video. Where can I buy the Capacitor. I lives in capetown south africa.
Hi. Try Voltex or ACDC. Groete
Thanks, for me the contacts to the condensor needed to be rubbed a bit, bad contact.
You legend! Just fixed pump 👌🏼
Really helpful lesson
Very thankful
Cool video, Very informative. Thanks
mine seems stuck and the back cover has no screws... i will keep trying to open. hopefully it works out...
Hi. Some have no screws. The back cover just pops off. Hope you find the problem!

Thanks man.
Called the plumber this morning and then watched this video.
Ten minutes later, cancelled the plumber 😂
Very Helpful, Thank you so much
Thanks man. Motor was stuck. Can i spray some q20 in the rotating parts
@@warrenclaasen8731 Yes. Good idea. Just avoid the electrical connections.
Thanks your explanation is clear
After you’ve done repair do you usually test if the device is safe to plug in the wall socket and how is that done

what do you think is the problem when the pump suddenly stops after 2 - 3 minutes? and starts again in about 5 minutes on its own?

Did the first step! And the motor starts
👍 thanks

Need help, my pump affected with the rest of 10% problem
I changed the capacitor, but I don't have the multimeter neither the water pump runs by itself.
The rotor spins freely, its capacitor is 10μf ±5% at 50/60 Hz 450Vac 3000h 40/085/21 Po
New capacitor is a diffferent brand of Ducati energia, 10μF±5% 25/85/21 SO, W24/10.

It is still working, but need to do it manually to make it work.
My fan is making a noise. What could it be?
Hi Hardus. 9 times out of 10 it is something hitting the fan. Grass growing in or the cover that has been pushed in too far. Some have screws that has to be taken out in order to inspect, others just pop of with enough force.
Hi, looks like it is a bearing behind the fan that causes the noise.
My pump free and as soon as I plug it in it jam and hum
