This is brilliant, Joe you've just made me want one of these now, the folding action really sold it to me ✌
Thanks Dean! Glad you liked it 😊 being able to fold it away when not in use is really useful 😊
I'm so happy you're using cm's and kg's. I'm really tired of everyone here on youtube using inches and pounds. Heck, I might end up learning them in the end, for my own sake 😄
awesome build bro
Oh yeah and I gotta shout “Adddrrriaaan!” 😂😂😂
Lmao 😂
Brilliant idea, i'm going to make one of these. Couple of questions.. Imagine adding more wall brackets and chemfixing into the brick would make it stronger? And am i able to make the pole that sticks out of the wall about 500mm longer, to create a pull up bar? What do you reckon? Thanks
How thick were the poles? And how thick must the wall be for the hanger to be stable enough? Thanks.
Great video! Very cool! Thanks!
Where did u get the elbow brackets etc mate
Nice build dude👍
Cheers Dan!
Great idea!
Thanks Russell!
Knock out project Joe 🤩😂 the saw is awesome, thanks for sharing 🌲🦊🌲
Haha Thanks Claire!
WHERE TO BUY THESE ELBOWS AND FITTING?
Nice fresh design
I can imagine this was actually quite expensive to make . Don’t know price of scaff but I’d imagine pricey
Thanks Scott! Buying new is pretty pricey. Came to around the £60 with shipping. If you’re able to source old scaffolding then of course that makes it way more reasonable. I had hoped to find some bits for free but just could source any locally
Do the double sided tube clamps ever come loose when you are using it or do they stay in place until you actually use the allen key?
They stay in place really well. I haven’t had them loosen on me
great video and it turned out good
Thanks Danny! 😊
Hi. Where can I buy all this? B and Q ?
I bought it online mate. There are quite a few sites that sell the scaffolding and fittings. Could always ask local scaffolding companies if they have any old stuff they can’t use anymore
Brilliant thanks mate
Nice mate where did you get the hook from?
Legend!!!
Very nice! How did that saw feel cutting through those poles? It looked like a hot knife through butter.
Thanks Ingrid! The saw cuts with ease. I left the footage real time in the video so you can see how quick it cuts. Always surprising when you feel the cut edge and its cold to touch too
Did it? I thought the opposite to be honest
You thought it looked like it struggled Lee? It went through with ease, no chatter and produces a nice clean cut 😊
I can vouch for that. I have an Evolution saw. The standard blade cuts wood, steel, plastic, aluminium - and when I cut some 1" box section to make a frame, the saw cut it brilliantly, nice clean edges and the metal didn't heat up. Good saws and great blades.
Hi Joe. I'm about to order one of these from ebay now. Is there any way I can order an extra clamp or two as the punch bag weighs a mammoth 45kg, so I need to ensure it's secure. Thanks.
Not sure what you mean mate sorry. What are you ordering from ebay and what clamps?
Oh I found it for sale on ebay and ordered it last night. I thought it was you selling them. It was a furniture company in Halesowen. I wanted to know whether it may support a 45kg bag and was asking to purchase additional wall clamps with it. Not a problem, I'll contact the company directly.
Yeah thats not me, sorry. Hope they can help you out 👍
wasnt even looking for this kind of video but enjoyed it. sub'd :D
Thanks mate! Really glad you liked the video enough to subscribe. I hope you like the rest of my content too 😊
Where did you get the scaffold poles from ?
Got the links to what I used here mate: www.averagejoesjoinery.com/post/how-to-make-a-punch-bag-wall-bracket-using-scaffold-poles
What is the mass of this bag?
25kg mate 👍
@@AverageJoesJoinery how cm?
How tall are you joe? You have either hung that quite high or you are short haha
I’m only 5’4” haha so if anything its hung low 😂
Im wondering if it holds a real boxing bag 😁 this bag weighs probably 20kg 🙈
Sorry big man. Its only 25KG in the video but it’ll hold much more
Cuz who’s got scaffold poles lying around
Very cool! Love how you can slide it out of the way too 👌 And great to see Evolution supporting you 😍
Thanks Vikkie! Handy to have it fold away when not in use thats for sure 😊 Really appreciate Evolutions support on this one, loved making it ❤️
Nice vid mate... looks spot on and nice and fresh with new poles aswell... I'll have a bash next time I'm there lol only joking
Cheers mate! I was really pleased with how it went together. Cant wait to do some more projects with scaffolding.
There called scaffold tubes not poles🙃
They’re 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome build joe. There’s no limit what can be accomplished. Great video mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks mate!
What did you fill that bag with
I ended up filling it with rags
Nice job Joe looks great thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍👊
Thanks Brian! 😊 glad you liked it 😊
This looks great !! I see dining tables, coffee tables galore using those poles ! So cool x love that it goes flush to the wall too ! Thanks Joe x
Thanks Claire! Id love to make some furniture using the scaffolding and fixings. Its pricey though 😬
@@AverageJoesJoinery ahhh yeh I can imagine for sure xx
Whayy deu eu speak laoik dat
(british accent is amazing)🤣
Lmao best accent in the world 😂
My punching bag about 400 pound so is not help fall
Nice project joe. I had one of those chop saws but it was wasted on me as I only cut wood mostly. They are a good piece of kit.
Thanks mate! I mainly cut wood with mine too. Its nice to know it has the ability to cut metal too though. Surprising how often I need to cut bits of metal. Huge relief knowing I dont have to struggle with a hacksaw haha
HangAr? But I don't have a plane yet
IM DOING THIS ! THIS IS GOOD
Where can i buy the material?
Would PVC Pipes (filled with cement or aggregate/sand ) do the job? in case you cannot find/buy scaffolding tubes
Unfortunately not mate. Concrete doesnt have much strength for this kind of application.
I've used this for 'legless' desks in the study room
That would be a great use for this style of bracket! Could have them fold away too 👌
Just buy a wall mount
🤣
The fold away option is a great idea!
Thanks Grace! 😁
That looks great, simple and easy to make with the saw.
Thanks Paul! 😊
Awesome job man wanted to ask you do you think that can pe mount in the garage to wood beam
Thanks mate! I dont see why not mate. As long as the beam is strong enough
good video, gonna have a crack at this. where can i get the fittings and brackets like these from?
Thanks Jake! I have all the parts listed in my blog post here: www.averagejoesjoinery.com/post/how-to-make-a-punch-bag-wall-bracket-using-scaffold-poles
cool little project
Thanks mate! 😊
What a ripper idea for those connectors. Never seen them before. 👌
That saw still impresses the pants off me! 😯
Great upload mate. 👍
Thanks Bill! The bracket could be used for lots of applications and using scaffolding makes it a breeze to put together👌 The saw takes out all the hard work cutting the poles haha wouldnt fancy cutting them with a hacksaw or angle grinder haha
@@AverageJoesJoinery
Always a bonus when the build is quicker than first imagined. 👍
Just commenting to make it a 100th comment
Haha Cheers mate!
Go Rocky. 👊👊👊
Lmao Thanks Martin! 😂
Should change his channel name to "Able Joe".
I wonder if the DWP are watching this.
‘Congrats. Stop. Have discovered only person in world less funny than you. Stop. Name - Baldrick. Stop. PS. Please, please, please - stop.’
@@AverageJoesJoinery It wasn't meant to be funny. Looks like I hit a nerve.
How much weight can carry out ?
I couldnt give you a figure mate as I havent tested it to failure
Hello, if I was to use shackle to hang a bag, would I still need to use a hook at the top??
I used the hook to allow the back to swing easier. I’m pretty sure a shackle would allow that movement too
Average Joe's Joinery cheers 👍🏾
Clever idea Joe 👍
Cheers mate! 😊
What’s the max weight that can hold?
Mine is holding a 55kg bag and i’m 82kg and swung from it. Didn’t even flinch, but i used m12 bolts with shield anchors
Joe the legend thank you boss great info
Haha cheers mate!
Great work Joe, what would be the calculation of the sizes of the other two tubes if I wanted to go from 50cm to 90cm out from the wall? Many thanks
Can this work for mounting on a tree?
You would need some pretty deep anchors into the tree mate. A better option would be to attach a triangle frame to the side of the tree so you have my anchor points. Similar to how tree swings are attached
good job, that looks clean af
Thanks Brian! 😊
This is cool. Only thing I'm wondering is the cost worth it? How much was it or did you get gifted
I'm looking to do one for a 50kg bag what do you think?
It’ll handle that mate 👌 I’ve hung and swung round on it and I’m 70kg haha
@@AverageJoesJoinery haha great stuff 👍
Cool project joe
Thanks Terence! 😊 glad you liked it!
yeah i agree, 65kg is plenty for a punch bag ;) LOL Great video joe
Lol
Nice one buddy
Thanks Moray! 😊
👍👍👍👍
😊😊😊
Have you done some boxing Joe?
Never boxed before but always wanted too. When I was younger I wanted to join a local boxing gym but my doctors advised against it unfortunately.
I've never boxed either but I have a bag in the shed just for fitness . . I must brush the dust off it one of these days :)
