@7:44 you place an E(nemy)A(rmour) on the map. This is of the type "Enemy control measures". I expected an enemy tank to be a Target. Can you explain what the difference is between a target and a control meansure ?
Selecting TG in the add list and typing AE now results in a flashing KU. You have to select CM now to enter AE however the result is an invisible point that does not show the armor symbol
Is the wind info on the TSD page the direction from or to? I see the wind on the PERF page and it's the reciprocal value. Which is from and which is to? Thanks.
I used to so love the Jane's series. I always think of it everytime I watch Clear and Present Danger with Harrison Ford. When he is investigating Cellulose Bombs, he has a bunch of Jane's Defense Books on this desk, which for some reason just makes me think Longbow, every time
Re: The amazing amount of such highly reliable geographical data for the TSD!! I'm curious as to the origins of such accurate info in the database of coordinates, especially the elevations!?!?!?!?....... there was some incredible amount of RADAR mapping by the Space Shuttle missions from which a (very very) highly accurate model of the entire planet can be created....... to some extent obsolescing by orders of magnitude existing technologies such as Defense Terrain Elevation Data, Digital Elevation Map, etc. in terms of resolution and accuracy. In my professional experience with coordinates and their elevations, we often had nothing more than a county monument post..... about 3' tall x 6" x 6" with plaque on top, used by land survey crews to establish a benchmark from which to shoot bearings/distances/elevations, or we interpolated by hand :) As "only and always", Your Wagness, superb work!!!
Great info, can you add target grid using the KU while patrolling ?. For example when you patrolling over somewhere in Syria or baghdad and the command radio you a grid coordinates.
@@MattWagner great. Ok so for a the Grid coordinates. Do I need to enter the 10 characters only in KU ? For example [ WD 3487 8717 ] or the whole 15 characters ?. It would be great thing if you show us how in next coming videos :).
So serious question I'm having issue with, how to use the TSD cursor and how to possibly bind the cursor (if you know) to an XBOX thumb stick? I'm brand new to DCS.
I'll likely take this question to forums, but I wonder if it's normal when switching map scale for the underlain map to vanish? I'm on a 3840 x 2160 display with NVIDIA 970 video card....... dunno if that's at all relevant, but considering the technology behind the TSD I'd expect it'd handle the scaling much better.
Uhhhhhh..... Any chance of an early release of the manual? Moving the release for the Apache back to late January means that if I start reading now I might have worked out what on earth is going on in this video. LOL Merry Christmas ED!!!!
I just figured out that "AE" is no longer a valid Target (TG) point but is now an enemy Control Measure (CM). So if you are having trouble entering an identification, make sure you check the abbreviations for the correct category.
Just out of interest, why are there only 300 rounds of gun loaded? If for the Robbie tank, I always see the Apache in these videos with it installed, so will we be able to add and remove Robbie tank on launch?

The APKWS was not fielded to the AH-64 until late 2015. Our AH-64D is a mid-Block II in the 2005-to-2010-time frame. This would fall well outside the version of the AH-64D that we are simulating.
