I know I have been selling it hard, but I’m glad the footage lived up the hype. Dude we have to plan a big one when the world is in order, we will have a blast over that way 🍻🎉
Mate, ive been watching your videos quite a bit lately and i am local to skiddaw. If you ever come around it would be a pleasure to have a ride with you :D
Its an absolute banger, where i went on day 1 of retirement ;) Well shot of course, and great walker prioritising etiquette demonstrated, love to see that. Glad you got the drone back.
Courageous stuff. I walk this route on a regular basis. I honestly find it hard to imagine how people cycle it. Must be some incredible decision making and reactions Lovely video
So here's me looking for a challenge... thinking, I know, I'll take this vintage MTB, convert it to some mega 1x11 gearing, some v brake and wide bars and take it up an actual mountain. Apparently Skiddaw is rideable.... I don't know if I want THAT much of a challenge. Haha Great footage guys and great riding. Thanks!
That sounds an awesome project and challenge. Skiddaw can be rough and challenging for sure, but the views and trails in that area are fantastic. Thank you for the support, keep shredding
So great to see Skiddaw again. The first time I did her was 1990 on a fully ridged Klein Attitude, I remember it like it was yesterday. So pleased your drone recovery was successful... feewww😬. Great video. Stay safe and shred well you two ✊🤘
Nice ride that is did it years ago before webcams and stuff. Easy ride tho did it both ways. One of the best rides I use to do in the lakes was castle crag pretty hairy at times 😅
Great video as usual..👍 FYI.. there's a reason there aren't many gt. Whernside mtb videos... unfortunately its not really a legal descent.☹ Loads of great stuff nearby tho.. see @trailfinder 😉 Keep up the good work!.!
Thanks Robert, much appreciated. We weren’t thinking to come down the footpath, we were wanting to just go freeride and cut in some lines off the mountain 😂
Yep. That’s a footpath ergo illegal on a bike in England which is an absolute pain. Here in the Lakes a huge amount of the best rides are footpaths so choose your time wisely. After 10 years based in Aberdeenshire it took a long while to get used to the animosity to MTBers again on footpaths when I moved back to Cumbria.
Thats awesome to hear thank you :D It is definetly is all of the above but super fun and really breathtaking! We have just been checking out your channel, its awesome! :)
@@LukeMegBiking you can't beat a ride with views like those! Thank you, appreciate that 😁 I'm trying to improve my editing, and I'm really looking forward to getting to some new places when we are allowed 👌
Hi Luke/Meg, Do you have a GPX download file for this route or will be be the same as what's available on the internet? What was the distance you covered and how long did the loop take you?
@@LukeMegBiking okay thanks. What was the distance you covered? I've came across a 30 mile route but won't be on ebikes so trying to guesstimate how long it will take us
@@LukeMegBiking my first completion of the Yorkshire Three Peaks was a normal day but on Whernside it was torrential and I could barely see. It’s k own for being a nightmare in even moderately bad weather.
@@sourcescience some people made it to the top, but they said they regretted it as they passed us as they couldn’t see anything, the wind was wild up there
It definetly is the perfect trail for the ebb, makes you fall in love with biking all over again! Fingers crossed we can all get back out shredding soon!
That descent looks so good! Good enough to maybe even tempt me out of Scotland 👍

Plus we have loads of other trails built around the other mountains aswell :)

Hiked up Skiddaw as a kid in the 80s... I NEED to ride it now! Cracking vid guys, first one I've seen of yours! Subbed.
That’s awesome dude. Sweeet, we are stoked you enjoyed it. WHAT a place Skiddaw is hey, so stunning and one hell of a ride 🙌
Myself and my mates rode this 2 year ago, it's definitely worth the trip. We drove up from Suffolk. We made a weekend of it and it was EPIC!
That's so cool to hear dude, it's a very special ride hey, something we will never forget. We plan on going back this summer 🙂

Lovely video
Thanks for watching, it's truly a beautiful spot
That looks absolutely epic.
It truly is an amazing place to ride for sure 😀
Looks great, is there a gpx route file?
Sorry dude, we didn't record it
Awesome!! nice video and riding , keep it up :) :)

Maybe you would enjoy to watch my riding videos too 🚴♂️🤘
Love the video!!
Is it all Skiddaw, both days?
Found your channel through mc trail rider , great content and great trails keep up the good work .
That’s awesome, Andrew’s channel is so damn good. Thanks for the support, great to have you onboard 😀
Epicness right there. Need to have a trip up after lockdown.
Cannot recommend it enough buddy
Nice to see you being so respectful to the other users, you were very lucky with the drone.
Always buddy, it’s just who we are, but we also want people to have nice engagements with Mountain Bikers 😀. Oh the drone 😱. Very lucky for sure
Excellent ride. Do you have a link to the route?
Sorry dude, we didn't use strava for this ride
Sick guys! Will give this a go in the spring. There's a few super gnarly sections by the looks of it!! And steeeeeeeeep! 🤘
Oh awesome. Dude it truly is wild, I very rarely wear a chest cam as it makes the terrain look flat, but damn it’s steep haha
Class video guys!!
Do you have a route planner or directions for your ride??
We’re heading to skiddaw tomorrow!
Sorry dude, we didn't use strava for this ride

Oh wow, now that’s gnarly 🔥🎉. We are longing to get back over there, what an amazing place.
Thanks so much Phil, wishing you well 🍻
Great video! Fairly certain Ribblehead wasn't used in HP though.
Thank you. Ribblehead?
It was Glenfinnan viaduct in the Highlands.
I will just keep looking at Skiddaw next time I'm in Keswick looks a bit rough. Latrig a nice walk and ok on an Electric bike.
It all depends on what you normally ride, it's a special route for sure

It's a truly special ride for sure 😃 (and definitely wild in places 🤣)
Love the video guys... where did did you start the ascent. Thanks
😂 😂 Got to the drone e landing. Unfortunately mine did that and landed in ladybower 180 foot deep 😂 don't fly over water
Oh noooooo, I feel for you Iain, that must have been painful
Still have nightmares now! ☹️ still... you wanted a new one didn’t you! 😜
@@LukeMegBiking yeah just said battery error forced landing. 😂 Didn't even crash it landed properly
Great vid , I'm up in lake district . Is it back of or just skiddaw . Trailforks route ,? .
Hey, glad you enjoyed it. It’s the Ullock pile descent to start, then you veer right down the Skiddaw descent. We didn’t use any app for the route
@@LukeMegBiking did it last weekend , f**king gnarly . But excellent .

Swerving Wheenside is wise in bad weather. It’s horrible at the summit when it’s challenging.

Thank you. We try to offer something different 😀
RUclips is saturated with POV. There’s definitely a niche there for a few different camera angles/filming techniques

Pity it’s all illegal to ride apart from the climb up Skiddaw.
