    Sorry about the random text being displayed as gibberish. It’s an issue with a font that I was using not exporting correctly.
    The main thing it said was that Dave was joking around talking about haze and lights and subs :)

    One thing I’ve learned from 20+ years of youth ministry is this... they will know if you spend time alone with God or just run through routines or head knowledge. Authenticity begins with intimacy.

    As a student who leads and coordinates my youth ministry's worship team, I wholeheartedly agree with your tip on radiating energy. So important! If you aren't praising Jesus with a smile on your face, neither will your students. The person on stage sets the tone for the service/moment.

      so true man, i used to lead when i was a student for my youth group and students really don't get engaged unless you yourself are.

      Harrison Cunha but it has NOTHING to do with a smile, I hate this myth.

      Well have you actually lead worship? I have personally noticed a difference over the years I've done it just from how I lead.

    I have about 5 years of experience leading worship for students weekly. Through everything that we've tried, here's the successful recipe:
    Keep things very high energy and add lots of interactive elements. This is what's hit the jackpot for us. I usually choose 3 upbeat songs to one slow one not a 4 song set.

    Is there any tips that you would have for someone like me who has never lead a song in his life but feels lead not only teach and preach to youth but also lead them in worship as they at the moment, the church I will be going to, the students do not have either of?

    • @brianmichaelfuller

      My advice is simply to learn how to do it! Anyone with passion and a desire to learn mixed with discipline and hard work can achieve anything they want. Keep God first and ask Him to lead you in developing those skills! (Advice #2, don’t do it until you’re ready:) lol

      Is there any songs in particular that you would recommend to someone who doesn’t have the experience leading worship but is intermediate in their skills? Songs that youth respond well too in worship?

    Hey Brian and Bradford! Quick question. I am a young worship leader and have been following your journey with the helix for the past year or so, and have decided to take the leap. I will be moving to Australia from the States soon and would like to simplify...What sort of IEMs or monitoring headphones would you recommend to use with the helix? I wont be able to play loud as I will be renting a house with others. It would be nice if they were interchangeable for live use but if over ears are best I get that. Thank you!

    Is the Moses question a trick question? In Exodus 14:16 God tells Moses to lift up his staff and stretch out his hand over the sea and divide it.
    Isn't this how most people remember it? Where's the theological inaccuracy?

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  6 лет назад

      Ha i think most people imagine he raised his staff, but the Bible says he lifted his hand (although God told him to raise his staff)

    • @BiebsJessy
      @BiebsJessy 6 лет назад

      Not a really issue as it doesn't change anything. But I'd argue that yes when it comes to Moses actually dividing the sea it does say he raised his hand but it's not unreasonable to believe that his staff was likely still in his hand as it was his walking stick he probably wouldn't have put it down anywhere. I've also heard references to it being an extension of his hand.

    I have a question about repeating songs. If a song is not new to the congregation, is it acceptable to repeat a song for a couple of weeks? How long do you repeat NEW songs until everyone gets it?

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  6 лет назад

      Great question - I think we've covered this topic in a Worship Leader Wednesday video a while back. We usually do the song at least 2 weeks in a row when it's new, and then again within the month.
      Personally, I think repeating a song from week to week is just fine, especially if they fit well into the context of the worship service. Listening to or engaging with a song twice in 8 days is like barely hearing it. Then when you consider that the average church attender comes 2 or so times per month, you could do a song for 8 weeks in a row, and the average church-goer would hear it four times in eight weeks.

      @MrStorm-vd9wz 6 лет назад

      In my humble opinion, i think keep on repeating songs is not a very good idea but you still can do so if you want. Maybe you can try to let the member know the song that they are going to sing in advance so they can check it out before the service start

      i know this comment has already been pretty much fully answered, but i thought why not so here i go. for my church, whenever we have a new song, we introduce it to the congregation and then we play it usually at next week's service.Then we bring it back twice within the next two months. my church has certain lists of songs that go with certain topics or just worship in general so we try to incorporate that new song in where it will best be fitted. so we might play it on week but not play it again for a few months. that's just how it rolls. it allows other songs that we might not play very often to come to light during service, so basically...if you think about it...every week we are playing something "new" because of the song rotation. hope this helped. God Bless.

    One thing I've noticed about this channel after watching for a while; Nobody ever talks about Jesus and why he is important. I'm not judging but you can tell the difference between a worship team that "performs" and a worship team that allows the Holy Spirit to completely take over. Just an honest observation.
    Strobes? Lights? So not needed. People are looking at all the wrong things, and you can see it in the worship. Exchange the strobes for pads to provide the environment needed for Jesus.

    • @worshiptutorials
      @worshiptutorials  6 лет назад +6

      We’ve actually spoken about Jesus and the importance of Him a lot in videos. Dave’s comments about lights, haze, and bass were mostly tongue in cheek - I apologize if that didn’t come across. But the main comments about leading students involved forming relationships with them, which is modeling the life of Christ - his ministry was rooted in relationships.
      One thing I try to do with these Vlogs and series like Worship Leader Wednesday is offer very practical advice that can be implemented by worship leaders in almost any context. That's why a lot of the dialog and content is focussed on practical 'how-to' kind of stuff.
      Also - are you suggesting that our team(s) at our church are ‘performing’ rather than being led by the Holy Spirit?

    • @Louisiana1975
      @Louisiana1975 6 лет назад +1

      Maybe I was a little harsh, my apologies. I just have a different opinion on how worship should be. I'll be honest, the current team I play on only let's me play on Wednesdays, and just acoustic guitar, not vocals. Jesus has blessed me with a humble gift of song, and my own worship leader is resisting it, and I don't know why churches do that. Even the Pastor's wife asked me why I wasn't singing on the team after she saw one of my videos in Bible study. I'm very sorry, I didnt mean to get personal, I'm just so frustrated with what "some" worship teams are doing. It's not of Christ, it's just not. Holding someone back from sharing with the congregation is probably the biggest sin I can think of. And I was probably just projecting from my own personal hurt. Please forgive :)

    • @joshpetermann
      @joshpetermann 6 лет назад +3

      Teapartyla Yikes. I’d be careful to go labeling things you’re frustrated with as sin on others’ behalf... much less “the greatest sin you can think off.”
      There are numerous reasons why worship leaders will hold back specific people, or have them wait longer than others... Oftentimes is simply because we aren’t as gifted as we think we are. That was the issue for me at first, which drove me to practice until I was ready for heavier involvement. It seems to me you are significantly judging the heart of your leader without actually talking to them, which would be a far greater offense then them leading the team how they might feel led to do so.
      I agree, there are many churches and worship teams out there who are missing the mark, but maybe you should speak with your leader about it privately, rather than declare to a RUclips comment section that he is “the worst sinner you can think of.”
