Sir with taping does doing excercises permitted? Like shoulder flexion , extension,etc.. Either passively or actively? Is it avoided till taping removed?
Hello, very useful. Could you also helps us with KT for spastic wrist for a patient with full ROM available on passive movements.. Need to open up wrist.. N encourage extensors
Kinesiotaping will not be that effective for high grade spastic wrist joint. However with 1 and 1 plus spasticity the taping can help in assisting wrist extension movement. Will make a video on that.
Sir my patient is a case of chronic stroke ( since 4.5 years now) i have recently gotten this patient under me and there's definitive shoulder subluxation with pain and that subluxation is also causing pain in her whole upper extremity including hand. This not only makes her upper extremity treatment difficult but it interferes with all rehab protocol given for her apprehension. Also the patient has too many psy components eg. Apprehension, aggression at times and sometimes not being compliant to our commands She needs to be handled with utmost care. I want to know if it would be a good idea to give this taping for her and also how effective can it be in a chronic hemiplegic shoulder patient. Prior to this she was never given any treatment for her shoulder pain except for TENS as told to me by her daughter. She has been using a shoulder cuff sling though. Please help me with your valuable suggestion sir
Don't apply too much tension / stretch to the tape and ensure that the overlying skin is stretched before applying Kinesiotaping. Yes the tape is water resistant.
BPI is a LMN condition and the spinal reflex activity is significantly compromised resulting in poor sensory inputs and inadequate motor outputs. SO THE taping method described in this video will not be as effective as that for stroke patients but can still be tried for BPI patients also.
This was a great, clear, precise, detailed explanation and demonstration. Thank you so much!
