I'm so glad you posted this! The song popped out of mine and all the other videos I found were just how to plug stuff in. No tricks on getting the string wrapped. After letting my husband play with it for 15 minutes I watched this video, and fixed it in about 20 seconds
ugh, thank you for this. I'm having the issue with my directional knob. AC and heat work perfectly, but the power is disconnected to the knob that tells it where to go, and the temperature knob is tight too. The mechanic wanted to replace the whole panel for over $200 and I was like, nah fam. But I have to have it off my feet and on defrost to drive in the winter. Tried it without last year, and not enough air was coming toward the windshield to keep sleet from freezing as I was driving. Lifesaver and money saver.
Thank you, I had paid someone to fix this before and the next time both wires slipped. Your videos helped me fix me it. Thank you -No longer stuck on defrost and heat in Texas
Thanks for the video, it fixed the problem for me but the wire keeps coming off and noticed I need a new wire. What would the part be called? I can’t find it online
For the slack issue, if you turn the knob & get the brass piece in there, then turn it the other way, should help instead of needing 3 hands to do the job
The fan control knob on my 2010 Toyota Corolla does not make it clicking sound when you turn it. Sometimes when I turn it the air conditioner will come on and sometimes it won't. So do all the three knobs in the front just have a loose wire. Or does the whole knob need to be replaced. Can that be very expensive if somebody else does it?
Thank You Spanky!!! That was just what I needed, just to the point without a lot of other bs talking and or music..... bla bla bla 😂 UT was Great and look forward to some more! So..... Lets Get Spankin.....
This happened to me, and now every Spring and every Fall, my mechanic does something where he toggles the heat or AC. Does it for free, but I've always wanted to figure out how to do it myself
Mine rotates perfectly and clicks on the blue lines but when it reaches the middle it gets really hard to move i just wanna know if this means i damaged it because i once got it stuck on heat and then forced it back and it snapped back and now its like this the ac is cold but i havent tried the heat yet i dont know if i damaged something if you have any information on this please let me know
Well I'm mostly up till 1am. That would be 5pm in Mountain time. So anything from 9am to 4pm Mountain time is fine for me. Or just make an announcement you're going live. Don't you just hate all these timezones 😆
Dang, this skipped all of the dash disassembly I was looking for. Found the video and thought "Nice! They'll show where all the clips are and all the hidden plastic bits that will snap if you're not careful!" and then it just skips all of that and barely shows the broken part anyway.
My mechanic fixed the other knob that switches it from all different things you know he fixed that wire but now I can't shut my AC off in the middle the button in the middle won't shut off my AC runs all the time
I have a problem. On my Yaris it does not go on the defrost when I turn the knob it just doesn’t turn all the way to the defrost option. It gets stuck on to the feet/defrost just above it. Does anyone know how to fix that. Thanks
Alright so I did this same repair but the underlying issue is that the feet setting gets stuck. The little tiny cable is too weak to turn the fan when it's stuck so it will continuously get derailed. I really wish Toyota had just made a lever for the fan control instead of this stupid knob that makes people think it's completely electronic. F*** you Toyota for not addressing this.

Please stay safe with this corona virus . Love your channel.
Hey really nice vid!!! I was wondering what can i do if my wire is broken...? Do i need to change all of it..?
😱 Yeah, I think so.
For the slack issue, if you turn the knob & get the brass piece in there, then turn it the other way, should help instead of needing 3 hands to do the job
I hope so

So many of my older videos have a lot of talking because that is what YT wanted. I'm working on minimalizing all of that in future videos.
You saved me $150 ! Thanks
Glad I could help!

You could have broken it or you could have fixed it. Can't know without seeing the inside.
THANK YOU.
