I look forward to watching these every week!
As I was watching this week’s podcast, a question did come to mind. In ayah 46, we read of Allah’s Response to the dua of Nuh (AS) and while reading it, we can see how Allah was scolding Nuh for asking about his son. Previously, in surah Baqarah we read of how the angels asked Allah about this new creation that was going to be put on the earth and Allah did not scold them but told them that He knows and that they do not know. I was wondering if you could help me understand the difference in response to these questions.
    JazakAllahu khair :)

Alhamdulillah we’re glad to have you following along. One answer to your question could be that Allah (swt) has already told Nuh (as) not to plead for the wrongdoers in 11:37, so he later reinforces this point about faith being what defines true community, so that this would be firmly established for all generations.
On another level, we could say that the angels’ question was actually intended by Allah (swt) - after all, they famously have no freewill - in order to make the reality of the human being known to all, and (taking a point from Ibn ‘Ashur) make this event a kind of defining point for Adam (as) and his descendants, just as we see with the events of the garden and descent to earth. Allah knows best.
