Also my 3DS is like 8 years old since I got it in 2015, and it broke like 3 times. I did get a 2DS earlier in 2013, that my 2DS's the touch screen broke very early on due to the giant battles in Mario & Luigi Dream Team. My current 3DS also has an issue since the second repair where the brightness randomly changes while playing which is really annoying. My brother's switch is nearly that old (6 years) and has had no issues besides joycon drift, which can be easily repaired and isn't even an issue if you mostly use a pro controller. The 3DS is NOT durable in the slightest, it breaks suprisingly very easily. Far more than the switch where the console itself is near invincible with the crappy joycons being the only fragile bit. You can't really physically destroy an actual switch console, even after having it fall from an airplane directly onto concrete. The only way to destroy a switch is for there to be some internal error caused by throwing the switch into a pool or something, and even then I'm pretty sure the switch itself is partially waterproof. The 3DS you can probably break apart with your bare hands. The original DS and the DS Lite on the other hand (which the meme was talking about) is indeed nearly invincible and truely built with "Nintendium." Nintendo cheaped out on the structure and parts of the 3DS to shove the thing full of pointless gimmicks (AR, Dual Camera, 3D Effect, Streetpass, Spotpass, QR Sensor, Nintendo Zone, Gyro, etc) instead of focusing on quality so that's why it's so easy to break it. Otherwise the 3DS would have been like $400 in 2011 money which was a lot especially when the original 3DS price was $280 and even that was too expensive for consumers.
