I am very happy with this discussion and debate. I am a disabled person on both legs. I had polio when I was the age of six. I suffered, schools rejected me, they asked my parents to send me to a disabled school, and no disabled school in our area then, it's a long story. I wish I could be invited to this program so that I can tell the world my story. Being a disabled person in Nigeria is horrible, glory be to God who stood by me and thanks to my mother. I have a story to tell.
Your Disability is not a barrier to your abilities. You can become whoever you want to be. I also had polio as a kid and faced all sorts of discrimination from my childhood till date. Be strong
I live with a disability. I live in Nigeria 🇳🇬. All I can say is that God has greatly helped me exponentially. However, I have not allowed my environment, background, or challenges stop me. I am changing the narrative. Thank you guys for creating awareness.
Disabled people are the most ignored and neglected in Africa. Thank you honest bunch for bringing such important conversation to light. You are not only educating Nigerian but the whole Africa. 🙏🙏❤
Yeah, we are highly neglected in Africa, mostly in Nigeria. No accessibility, facilities, discrimination all over the places. I was fortunate to be the first set that studied Computer Engineer back in the '90s. I completed the program then and I was given an attachment Letter for 1 year, I roamed Nigeria no company wanted to accept me because "am disabled". However, when I read the Nigeria Constitution, "Disability Act", I find so many laws that protect persons with disabilities, but none has ever been implemented, then you understand that Nigeria is a FAILED country, but am proud to be a Nigerian, another world I will love to be.
This pretty woman is so knowledgeable that I'm so jealous..... one of my best episodes if. Ot my best seff. This broadened my knowledge unconsciously..... God bless you all Immediately ❤❤❤❤
Wait guys, Wait guys. Lets give Honest bunch podcast, Award the most interesting, diverse and engaging podcast of this year 2024. Of next year 2025. So we are awarding them in advance. Great contents. One thing Chukwudi, can we start using 'Differently abled persons' rather than people with disabilities
Am always number one on this comments, and that’s because I actually have formed the habit of taking things home in my diary from every episode, truth be told this is not just a podcast for me, but a learning platform, and as it regards the topic for this Monday edition… sadly disabilities transcend the physical & I can’t wait to catch the angle of our amiable guest this time, I won’t be late Cha Cha cha …no dulling We stand solid with you 💯 Carry go!!!
Thanks for bringing on Adenike, I remember her being one of the foremost presenters on Nigeria info with Nelly. I'm glad to hear that Nkubi is still on radio, I love his can do spirit.
A person with low vision and I'm so glad that this speaker was invited today God bless you and keep up the good work the discrimination is real but is not exclusive there are still genuine people who are kind. I have three kids my marriage but I have a network of support and I'm grateful
She said period is not supposed to be heavy or painful...thank God cause I was starting to be worried cause mine is never painful no heavy and just 3days
Its so good to see and hear Adenike speak. I have missed listening to her on Nigeria Info. This topic needs to be broadcast on all social media platforms and television channels. People need to start showing empathy to People with disability. Thank you so much Adenike.
I really enjoyed this session. When I was in Nigeria, I, like many others, was quite ignorant about disabilities and how to interact with people who have them. The medical term for a hunchback individual is "kyphosis" or "hyperkyphosis."
Guest speaker: those disabled ppl Nedu: as if se dem get epilepsy. It is ironic how Nedu unconsciously disprespected those with epilepsy. 😢 I know he didn't mean it sha. We are learning.
Thank you so much for this Episode, it’s enlightening and inspiring, I recently discovered my daughter is slow, I’ve realized she takes her time to learn a new thing, after she’s reached the milestone, then I remember how worried I was at some point for her to reach the Goal,
Fantastic conversation. Our society needs to keep educating people , especially from younger ages, from pre-school up high school to respect and preserve dignity of all peoples. Well done, guys. Your guest today is simply awesome❤ Husband material," i no dey fear you "...this made me laugh
They should give Honest bunch the Pace setter Cup already. What a Podcast is all about. Seasoned all rounda. Entertaining and equally educating!!! I actually can wait to see you guys and also a live audience edition of this Podcast please!!
There are not enough resources in Nigeria. Persons with disability suffer because of the lack of resources. I wasn't diagnose in Nigeria because of the lack of resources in Nigeria. This affects my academic careers.
Honest Bunch thank you for this discussion, it actually an important topic. I think so many organization staff need to be enlightened on giving priority to PLWD including the elderly. I was in a bank this week and a very elderly man came in for cheque book, you need to see how the staff where telling him to go here and there. i was in front of a cashier, a customer was telling the cashier doesn't he have children that he's coming to the bank alone!.... He will also grow old, he feels he has trained his children well The old man felt tired and decided to go. meet him at the door and ask if he has collected the cheque book and he said No he's feeling tired. I had to go back to tell the cashier (the same cashier that attend to me and the same cashier that the old man met and was directing him to another person instead of taking up the transaction himself to the person in charge of cheque book) to attend to the old man. That was when he started asking him, let me have your account and bla....... before i now left.
God bless you Guyz for Creating this Awareness, even as a Medical personnel I learnt a thing or 2 from this Episode. May the Almighty continue to keep and Flourish the entire Crew...You are doing Well❤
God bless u guys for bringing us personalities that have something upstairs. I have learnt a whole lot from u guys by the people u bring on. Eku ise o oga nedu, oga fake husband material 😅. My gen z baddies sis, and my -🤐 sis. U are not there during last episode, where are you today too our dark beautiful sis.
Interesting discussion. This thing you are saying about airpods and earphones just reminded me of my 13 yo daughter's recent experience. She had an ear infection that was traced to her airpods (bacterial infection). Since then, nobody told her she has dropped the airpods for good.😂 Airpods that she cried and begged me to buy. Thise things are really damaging a lot of people's hearing. I'm glad it is being discussed. I've learned so much today.
I am impressed HB PODCAST. Kudos to the Guest. I am not a Nigerian, but an African leaving in the Diaspora. My friends and I don't miss out on your weekly episode. Keep it up Guys.
Great show! Since no one is perfect, we all are disabled in some form or forms. We all need to give and/or receive compassion. Nigeria, with numerous places of worship, can be a cruel nation. We need compassion ❤
This particular edition has really opened my eyes to so much reality that has been starring me in the face for way too long this edition is really impactfully . Please you mentioned the medical term for those who skip words when writing a complete sentence.
We all have disabilities tbh. From growing up. As we grow, we get into one or another after fighting the previous one. I couldn't learn, read or write until I got to Primary 4. I can't remember my childhood. I look lost anytime people around me bring up childhood memories. When Is
But now. Atleast I'm a "B" grade individual. I do not love subjective or objective. But when I meet theory, I'm fire. It's all a struggle.....we just need Time and energy with support 😢. Now I think I'm realizing the future and nature of life more than my mates and they all think I'm either too exposed or matured and don't want to enjoy the youth circle space with them. Hence, I see myself without friends. Omo...but I'm grateful to avoid the risk of now so my tomorrow would be better and amazing.
❤❤❤ I still don't know how I come around with this honest podcast cuz one or two things add values to my life personally and that's why I watch one episode for 2or3 time for more understanding before the next.
Wow Nice podcast. this is educative Please honestbunch crew, always add the social media contact of your visitors to your caption for easy reference. This kind of podcast needs such for the benefit of those with disabilities who would love to reach out. I am a SCD patient and I have a question to ask her personally.
This really needs to be spoken about. It has even affected marriage cause a person inlove with a person with disabilities parents may not allow it Omo it is well
Let them also warn the pastors. They also cause harm. Instead of them to encourage people to visit the hospital rather they manipulate them just to extort money from them.
Oh God we are really behind in Nigeria. We need serious education n discussions around lots of issues. The highest level of ignorance is when you are ignorant of your ignorance.
Disability can happen to anyone, it’s important we have these conversations, it shouldn’t be a taboo. Life is unpredictable, let’s not make life harder for people that struggle with health issues
Back at uni one lady had to drop out because the environment was not comfortable with her ...she had feet and climbing faculty of art was so difficult. I was really sad. I. Time they made some adjustment but it's still not enough
Being disabled in Nigeria is very challenging for those who have the disability and their families. There are no government effort to make an already difficult life a bit bearable. Our roads are not friendly for diasabled people, our public transport systems are zero for them, no schools for them because we don't even have teachers who have the skills to teach disabled people. Being disabled is not a crime. Our society should stop treating them with disdain and gove them equal opportunities to thrive.
I’ve got this attention issues , everything Dey quick tire me , I can’t even read for more than 30mins I have to do something else like everything Dey tire me . Being around one particular person sef Dey tire me like everything damn thing
many parent might have the knowledge of the haulitic test you talk about, but if a parent is earning below 100k a month what will he do than to accept is faith and live with it
Nice program. But I'm beginning to feel like the honest bunch podcast is losing its original essence. The reason it came to life in the first place. The reason I fell in love with the podcast in the first place was the table that used to be shaken by invited guests and even oga nedu. Now, it feels like a programme on Arise TV or channels TV. I'm not going to lie that I don't enjoy the show still, but I don't rush anymore to view. I even sometimes forget that it's Monday, compared to before, where I always had this adrenaline rush whenever Monday was approaching. Well done to you guys, and I'll continue viewing whenever I can. But please, invite more exciting, intelligent table shaking guests with substance, eg, Verydarkman, E-money, p-square, and the likes. Thank you. And I hope you don't get the wrong message sha? I'm only stating how I feel
You're right bro, I have Episode that I haven't completed especially the once of last month. The zeal to watch honest bunch is not like before but I completed this Episode.
I had learning disabilities. when I was growing up ...I was diagnosed to have learning disabilities...in fact the teacher said I cannot not learn anything and that my mum should not waste her money on sending me to school 😂😂😂. I can't fit into any class till today

Epilepsy is not contagious at all. Not contagious in anyway.
Stress causes an epitic patient to have seizures.
Not taking your medications is also another reason why a patient gets seizures.
